I found this place on Yelp. Yelpers came through with the honest reviews. I needed an item tailored for my daughter. As soon as we walked in we were greeted. We waited about 10 minutes since there were two people before us. I forget her name but the woman in the front was very friendly and extremely helpful. The price was reasonable and I received the item back in a few days. Thank you, Yelpers! I found my new tailor.

Only way this experience would've been better here would be if the pickup came dry cleaned as well. The tailor was sooooo nice. She explained everything she was doing and gave us options for how things would look depending on what direction we wanted to go with the look of the garments. It definitely cost a pretty penny.

My dress (the blue one) was tailored perfectly @ DT Tailor on Pat Booker Rd.

If you live in the San Antonio or Universal City area and need something hemmed or taken in, I highly reconnect DT Taylor. I bought a dress for my daughters wedding and it was a little too loose and a little too long. I had driven by before on my way to work, and had no other ideas of where to go. What luck that was! I went in with my dress, and they took me back immediately. They were so kind and made sure I was very comfortable. They listened to all my requests and pinned me up accordingly. They called me in less than 48 hours and told me my dress was done. I was actually a little unsure all the changes could have been completed so fast, but when I went back, it was like the dress was made for me. I couldn't have been more pleased and the cost was well below what I expected. I will definitely return for any tailoring I need in the future.

I called up to simply ask for a price quote to get 6 shirts tailored. I explained what I had, and…read morewhat I was looking to get done. The first frustrating thing I noticed was that when I was trying to explain what I needed done, she kept talking over me. Once I was finally able to explain she started price quoting me on tailoring pants. I reminded her that I'm not bringing in pants, only shirts. When I asked for a ball park price she kept saying "come in and we'll tell you". I started to explain for a second time that I'm just looking to see if A) they can do this, and B) a ballpark price. I had to literally ask her to please stop talking over me, and allow me to finish. Getting a direct answer is pulling teeth here. Eventually she asked for my number and told me someone will call me back. Ive never had someone get my number wrong 3 times in a row. I told her that she would have a much better chance on capturing it correctly if she would just allow me to speak without cutting me off every 3 seconds. BTW, I never got a price quote and I never got a return call. If its this much trouble in the beginning, I couldn't image how much trouble it would be to actually do business with this place.

KEEP LOOKING. DON'T GO HERE…read more I'm sharing my coworker's terrible, no good, very bad experience for other Yelpers' benefit: My coworker, Lee B., took his shirt in for a button and dry clean, thinking he'd give some business to a little mom and pop shop. Went back a week later: no shirt. They said the factory had it and they were looking for it. Came back another week later: still no shirt. He asked for reimbursement for his shirt, and Roberto (Angela's husband) told him to take another shirt from a rack in the shop (which looked like other people's dry cleaning?!). Lee B. declined the offer of probably-someone-else's too-small shirt and instead asked for what most of us would request: reimbursement for his shirt. He asked for $40, plus the $10 he'd paid for the services when he'd dropped the shirt off two weeks prior. The man at the shop, Angela's husband Roberto, told Lee B. he wouldn't reimburse him $10 for his shirt... told him his shirt was MAYBE worth $5 or $10... told him his shirt was torn, and "very very very dingy and dirty". Lee suggested the business owner buy him a replacement shirt. Roberto said he would buy a replacement shirt and took down the size and brand information. Thinking the saga was finally over, Mrs. Lee B. called the shop to let them know Lee B. would be by to pick up his replacement shirt. Roberto said, "What shirt? I'm not buying him a shirt!" She asked, "So you never planned on actually replacing his shirt?" Roberto answered, "No." The following day, Lee B. had a Universal City police officer meet him at the shop to try to clear up the situation or file a police report if nothing changed. Roberto held his line in front of the police officer. He refuses even to refund the $10 Lee B. paid for the button and dry clean on the now-missing shirt (which Lee B. figures, with a weary laugh, someone probably plucked off the rack when HIS shirt went missing ;) The other reviews for this business echo the same sentiment. Other people in our office building offer similar stories from this location, but haven't bothered to lodge formal complaints. Lee's gonna get himself a Yelp account, but I'm putting this right here so everyone knows to steer clear. Best we can guess is they own the strip center, so don't have to worry about running a reputable business in this location? For what it's worth: Lee says the wife (Angela) has always been nice. He also says he understands that things sometimes go wrong or businesses get in a tough spot... but he doesn't accept that the business owner refuses to make an attempt to do right by his customer(s).

I called last week to get a ballpark estimate on alterations for two suit jackets and four dress…read moreshirts. I explained what I needed, and the woman I spoke to (Sue) quoted around $25 per shirt and $35-$50 per jacket. She also mentioned it was their busy season and the turnaround time would be about three weeks, which I said was no problem. The following week, as agreed, I brought in the clothing. I stood at the front counter for several minutes before someone (her daughter, I assume) appeared. She didn't greet me or say anything--just looked at the clothes over my arm and let out an exaggerated sigh, as if I was burdening her with work. I greeted her and reminded her that I'd spoken with her mom the week before. She started pinning one of the jackets when Sue walked in. Like her daughter, she didn't greet me--just immediately started talking about me with her daughter: "What does he need? How many does he have? Did you give him a price?" Eventually, I introduced myself and reminded Sue we had spoken the previous week. Instead of continuing the fitting, she criticized me for bringing all the shirts in at once, saying I should've split the order into two trips. I told her I wasn't in a rush and that they could take their time--even a month was fine. Her response was that they didn't have time to pin every shirt, and when I suggested using one shirt as a template for the others, she didn't reply. Then came the new pricing: $110 per jacket--far above the initial estimate. I told her I've had the exact same alterations done on similar jackets before, usually at $40-$50 each. She cut me off, saying she doesn't negotiate. I clarified I wasn't negotiating, just sharing my previous experience, and she snapped, "Well maybe you should go to them and get them done then." At that point, I took my clothes and left. The attitude from both Sue and her daughter was dismissive and unwelcoming from start to finish. They seemed annoyed by the idea of actually doing business. Use them if you want, but I wouldn't recommend bringing in more than one or two items unless you want to be treated like an inconvenience.
