I wanted 4 can lights and was told that I'd need a new electric panel for that to happen. I was quoted around $5,200 for a new electric panel (after having to ask specifically for the cost of this item). I mentioned that I put a panel in 3 years ago for a similar sized home and it was $2,500ish. I just got another quote for this home. It was $2,700 and I was also told I didn't need a new panel to add the 4 can lights.

They came by to let us know what the issue was, then, after we had the flooring ripped up after a leak detection company marked off where it was, they came with the jackhammer and tore up our cement. Unfortunately, the leak wasn't where detection had marked it. I'm grateful Stephen was find enough to come in on what was supposed to be his day off the next day to continue after we took up the rest of the wood overnight. They did a great job at locating the leak, fixing it, explaining what might have happened to cause it, filling the hole back up and covering it with cement. You'll get a free quote on site before any work starts." I get a text the next morning saying the appointment has been confirmed and 3 hours later I get one saying it is cancelled. I call and ask why was the appointment cancelled and she said they needed a $75 dispatch fee. So if the quote was too high it doesn't matter, they still want their $75.

I did a little research of reviews for HVAC companies in Chesapeake and found Simmons had great ratings. I found quickly why they had 5-stars! My previous HVAC contractor had been out twice and I was left with, " you need a new thermostat" and left with a cold house. That's when I found Simmons. They were very responsive and were out within 8 hours. The technician was very polite, professional and explained everything about the system (since I was unfamiliar with a dual-fuel system). He identified the problem and made the necessary repairs quickly. Having had a great experience then, I put the system under contract with them. Since then they have not let me down. They have kept my system in excellent condition. This week I suddenly had an issue with heat. Called and had a technician here within 3 hours. He got the system working but the next day I had the same issue and on one of the coldest days the system was out again. I called after hours and within 15 minutes had a call back from the on-call tech who said he would be here in 20 minutes. He was. The problem was so minute, a loose connection, but trouble shooting that was a pain for him, but he found the problem within 15 minutes. Simmons is my only HVAC system contractor. I know the age of the existing system and understand it only has a few years left in it. I feel confident that Simmons will keep it running great and when the dreaded day comes, it will be Simmons technicians installing a new system.
