In under an hour, they installed a surge suppressor on our power panel; installed a GFCI breaker for our home office; and repaired our malfunctioning doorbell. The Cole Electric team, as always, was professional, fast, and considerate (for example, always seeking permission to kill power to part of the house before tripping the breaker). I received a reply to my initial review with a bunch of justifications for charging $175 for essentially visiting our home to look around for an hour and tell us they couldn't do the work. Some facts to consider: My husband had to assist and guide the electrician with his work and they still charged $175 for work that we could have done ourselves. They only followed up to provide a fix after I left a negative review and offered to charge us over $600 in addition to the $175 we already spent for the work they didn't do to put wire molding up...something that someone as delicate and precious as me could do cheaply and in an hour and still do beautifully. I've never had a company offer me the chance to pay them $600+ in order to make amends before. read more

Hey Andy, there's seems to be some confusion about my Husband's review so I'd love to clear it up. My Husband a river was in fact the one to hire you, but I was the one there who helped with all the "work" that was done. Let me say that the technicians that came out were great people and knowledgeable and kind. They did indeed spend aproximitly 45 minutes helping looking around with me for where that switch went to and then had the decency to tell me when the job wasn't doable as originally envisioned. They then recommended against further work that would damage our property and not give us the result we were looking for. The one star review from my Husband (and now myself) comes from the fact that the technican then informed me that the looking around which included looking at some plugs, unscrewing two of them, and removing one small hanging light to check the wires, all of which I helped with would cost $175 dollars because of policy you set, Andy. That was the first problem. The second problem is when you asked me to tell my Husband to remove the review and suggested that we do $600-700 dollars more of work for an outcome that isn't want we wanted and you would give us a "discount" on that to make it right. To me that just means you'll charge $600 and tell me you gave me a $100 discount. Besides that the Fox you recommended was nothing like the work originally wanted done. The third mistake you made was writing a catty response to my Husband where you referred to me as his "partner" and attempted to undermine all of his concerns instead of addressing them. In short: this would have been a five star experience except that the office has predatory billing practices and poor customer service. Heads up: if a technician comes to your place from Cole Electric you will owe them $175 no matter how long they stay, or what they do (or don't) do. read more

I had a surprise issue this morning with the electrical panel with all the breakers. It was making snapping noises as all the lights flickered in the house. Pretty scary with no idea exactly what was going on. I rolled the dice and called cole's based on the other Yelp reviews as well as post on the website. My first impression was positive as the dispatcher that I called was concerned and also informative. She gave me a good idea of the work already on their schedule and when they could arrive. We shared a laugh about the local roads nearby and just really connected from the first minute. When Jay and Seth arrived they were both very professional. In a matter of minutes I had explained what happened they asked some critical questions so they could start their analysis and they dug in. They tested each of the switches in my panel, they checked outside at the electrical meter to see if my power company was the problem, and they ultimately decided that one of the breakers was bad. At that point they were able to show the buzzing that indicated the breaker was bad. We tested by applying load with different appliances in the house. Everything worked out and the job was done. Total cost was less than $300 which is a great price for any electrical visit but most importantly matched what I was supposed to expect. These guys were great! We had a couple things we needed to get fixed and they took care of it fast. They took the time to explain everything and also pointed out additional things they could take care of while they were there. Setting up the appointment was easy and they kept us updated through text before they came to the house. Also we paid extra to use their weekend service so we could just get the repairs out of the way. The pricing was the best out of the 3 quotes we received from the other companies. Second time having Cole Electric come out and work on our house. Can't speak highly enough of them. Mason and his crew have been out both times. Excellent quality work both times. First time was mostly home infrastructure - new meter meter and panel, replacing and adding outlets, and bringing wiring up to code. Carter, master electrician, and his helper Jarret got the panel installed by lunchtime Monday....as in two days later. I want to start off saying that we're very professional over the phone. But, when I called saying my power was not working they were very responsive to come out and attempt to fix it. They came out noticed the issue was not able to be fixed because of the crawl space being wet. Charged my gf that did not know what to do $175 for saying they couldn't fix the problem. A technician from another company came out and fixed the issue in 15 minutes and charged less not even needing to go into the crawl space. I called to get my money back and they were professional, but could not refund me the money because it "cost money to send the truck". So if you don't want to lose $175, I wouldn't recommend. read more

While it took a while to get the job done (that'll happen when you're booked up because you do great work), the quality and responsiveness was great. They were able to come a week earlier than previously booked and they did an amazing job. We had our breaker box replaced, multiple light fixtures replaced, and a new ceiling fan put in where no previous fixture existed. They kept us posted with the job as it progressed. Cole Electric was a joy to deal with from start to finish. We emailed Scott, the owner through Angie's list who immediately called us back to set up a time to give us an estimate on the electrical work that we needed to have accomplished in our home. They showed up five minutes early with four guys, dressed neatly in matching Cole Electric uniforms. They walked around our house and fixed little things: like a cracked electrical outlet and a switch that needed to be changed for an electrical outlet. We estimated that they did about $150 worth of work and did not charge us! They gave us a detailed written estimate of the work to be done and what it would cost us. My husband and I talked about it for two days and then we called them back to schedule our appointment for Friday, 01/25/13. Once again Cole Electric showed up early and neatly dressed. They began the job at 8 a.m. and put protective canvas coverings over all of our furniture. There were about six guys and what they call a "runner" who runs for different supplies. Turns out that the runner was Scott Cole's son. Everyone was respectful and kind to me, my husband and our two dogs. Our house was built in 1950 so to say our electrical was antiquated is an understatement. They changed out our electrical panel, put in three new outlets. About 3/4 through the job Mike, the guy in charge on our project, arranged for the inspector to come out and inspect our new electrical. It passed with flying colors! When Cole Electric finished the job, two of our new light fixtures had not arrived yet. Mike told us to call Scott and let him know when the new fixtures arrived and they would come back and install the new lights in our bathroom. Two days later the lights arrived and I called Scott. Within an hour, Mike & another one of the Cole Electric guys came in and 15 minutes later they were finished. They took all the garbage out to our garbage cans and cleaned up neatly. Scott Cole and his employees, embody the word: "Professionalism." Saying they are electricians doesn't quite fit. Artisans, Craftsmen & Electrical Concierges would all more accurately capture who they are as a company. I cannot say enough good things about our experience with them. They are AMAZING. I hired a pool service to install a timer for my pool pump. They never showed, so I ordered a timer online and hired COLE Electric to install. They came the next day and I got the wrong type of timer, but they knew where to get the correct one. While the guys took apart what they needed too, another electrician went and got the correct timer. All in all, from the time I put out the request, it took 5 minutes for them to respond., and installed the next day. They were also the best priced even with having to buy a timer for me.
