I recently ordered some boots from DSW online. There were a couple of problems with the order and I needed to make a return of one pair and an exchange of another pair. I spoke with customer service and they were very understanding and helpful and suggested that I go to my local store. I went to the store in Franklin, TN to see if they could help me. That's where I met Lori. She was amazing! I thought it would be a real hassle to handle everything but not with her! Tucked away in the far corner of the shopping complex on Mallory that is anchored by Kroger, this DSW is your standard location for the brand. Over the years I have relied on DSW for casual to dress shoes, stopping in when ever a need...or an itch is had. First things first though, when I enter, I immediately scope the clearance section at the back of the store first. If I do not find anything of interest there, then I hit the main aisles. While they have a solid selection of shoes, I prefer their casual/dress shoes to their sneaker selection. I have picked up more loafers and dress shoes from DSW than sneakers for sure. Service at this location is always friendly and helpful. Never had an issue, even with picking up online orders. There may not always be folks available in the moment, but when they are, they are helpful. The store is aging, and could use some TLC throughout the interior and exterior. Parking is plentiful given the location in the shopping plaza. Overall, I am a fan of DSW and this location is convenient for me, so it stays in rotation when I need some new kicks! read more

This DSW is large, clean, organized, and the staff is friendly, but leaves you alone. The DSW I was at before this one (in Lexington) had really cool & mod furniture to rest your tired toosh or wait for your shoe-obsessed mates. This DSW doesn't have any seating (albeit the shoe-changing stools) and I also didn't see any full-length mirrors except in the absolute back of the BIG store...what's up with shoe stores not having ample supplies of full-length mirrors??? Though I didn't choose anything from it, I was pleasantly surprised to see about 3 racks full of size Monster shoes in the sales section, when I usually have about 1/2 of a rack to select from. I ended up buying 3 pairs on this trip, though if I had no control and an endless supply of green paper, I could have easily bought dozens, as well as many purses, clutches, & wallets. The cashier was nice and just fine, but she had a very difficult time & seemed very confused when entering my info into the computer for the rewards card...though she did mention to me when I walked up to her counter that she was confused & it had been a long day, so.... read more

I have had Lori as my cashier a few times now, and I must say she is WONDERFUL at customer service. Very nice, helpful, and patient! Helped me with a complicated return, and took time to make sure all my DSW points and such were taken care of. I really appreciate her and the care she has for customers. And everyone else in the store is very kind and helpful as well! I love the nice relaxing time that comes with a day-off of shoe shopping, and all the employees help to make it even better. DSW - everyone knows what this is right? Shoes! Racks and racks of glorious shoes!! I have more shoes than one human should legally be allowed to own and the thought of visiting DSW works me up into an excited frenzy and my credit card finger starts twitching!! But this DSW isn't the best DSW. Like, where were the boots man? It is January, there should be more than just one measly row of boots. I also realize they are already putting out spring stuff but damn, seriously? The sale section didn't even have very many boots. What happened to the boots!?! No section for high end shoes - I guess maybe that was just Dallas DSWs that had a section with Manolos and other designer shoes? Anyway, it is nice to have that option. There was an overall lack of accessories too. And if you don't believe me about the selection and options here, I left the store without buying anything. NO SHOES PURCHASED AT A SHOE STORE?! I have shopped at DSW a number of times in the past, but yesterday I had a very frustrating experience. I ordered a purse online to be picked up at the store. I specifically ordered it because it had outside pockets. I got an email that my order was in. I went to pick it up and they couldn't find it. After waiting for quite some time, they finally brought out a purse and it was not even the one that I ordered. I cancelled the order and left very frustrated. My complaint has nothing to do the the people who were working there who were overworked and trying hard. My frustration is with the fact that I was notified that the purse was there, it couldn't be found, and then it was not even what I had ordered. Very poor fulfillment of an order and wasted an hour of my time. I won't be going back to DSW for a while. read more

I've shopped at this DSW location for 15 years and love it. They always have a great selection, good coupons and nice salespeople. Recently, my fiance and I went in and both ordered a pair of shoes at checkout - because our sizes weren't in stock. We paid (partially) with a $100 Visa gift card and didn't think anything about it. When we received our shoes in the mail, my pair of boots were too tight and I planned on returning them. I finally got around to it about 6 weeks later. Jaleel helped me with the in-store return and told me he had to return the funds to the card we used. About 3 minutes later we realized we didn't have a card with those last 4 digits.. we realized he returned it to the old visa giftcard that no longer existed. Not Jaleel's fault - we didn't even think about it! He helped us problem solve through the situation by calling corporate - no solution offered. Visa wouldn't help us and said we needed to call the bank who issued it (a corporate vendor that my fiance's company uses, this would be impossible and not worth the trouble). We let Jaleel know the outcome and he asked his management to help us out. In the grand scheme of things, this was not a big deal to them, but to me - someone who can't afford to buy new shoes whenever i feel like it, this $56 store credit meant a lot. As far as visa and corporate were concerned, we were out of luck. We very much appreciated that management at the store level was willing to help us out, especially b/c we almost exclusively shop there. We hoped they would do the right thing and we wouldn't be out the cash. All this to say -- they went above and beyond, and i ended up spending double anyway once i found boots to replace the ones that didn't fit. Consistently the slowest checkout experience I've ever had. Literally at least 5-10 minutes per person, and longer if there's ANYTHING outside the norm (return, coupon, ship to home), which is then a 10-15 minute ordeal. Friendly staff, but that's not all it takes to create a great customer experience. read more
