We went on a Sunday night at 7 with a reservation. Got seated immediately and placed our order for our appetizers and entrees. Appetizer came out decently quick and it was great. We got the large portion of mozzarella sticks, and it was definitely worth the amount we got. My brother ordered a salad, which came out nearly 20 minutes late since apparently the chef forgot to cook the chicken for the salad? My dad got a Stromboli and I got a the chicken parm, both of which were good. We had to ask 4 times for bread..and when we finally got it, it was pretty stale/cold. But, a waitress came over shortly after and gave us warm bread, which was good. The food was good but the service needs work. Also a side note: we got seated next to this gorgeous mural which fit in with the Ancient Rome/Italy vibe of the restaurant.

My grandfather is on hospice and is close to the ends while my mom and grandma have been taking care of him. On Mother's Day, we visited to help and had a pretty rough day. Before we left, we wanted to give my mom and grandma a nice meal for Mother's Day. We called in two ribeyes with potatoes, salad and bread. I did ask if they could take extra care of the order and explained our situation so they knew how important this meal was. Not only was the absolute perfection, they made sure we had extra bread and butter, not just a small piece for them to split. The attention to detail to make sure this important meal was able to transport and still be perfect was something that many restaurants don't do without a request, but you can tell that they give this level of detailed attention to every order. Inside the restaurant, we watched as they took the same level of care with every dish. This level of customer service alone is enough to warrant return business. The quality of the food is an added bonus at that point. 10/10 go here if you are in the area!

We tried Luca Italian Chophouse for dinner on Good Friday. Our stuffed banana pepper appetizer was excellent, with 3 large and moderately spicy peppers stuffed with sweet Italian sausage, served with a tomato sauce and topped with Ricotta. It was a very tasty appetizer. We split a small pizza for dinner. It was about 10" as specified with a fair amount of crust. The pizza crust was a little yeasty for my taste, but it was very good and I liked the crispy crust bottom. Toppings were generous and were of good quality. It was plenty for two people. Emboldened by the first two courses, we tried the cheesecake with caramel sauce for dessert. It turned out to be a small individual cheesecake about 4" in diameter topped with strawberries and caramel. It was OK but over priced at $14. The crust was too soft and flavorless although the cheesecake itself wasn't bad. The strawberries weren't of the best quality and should have been left off. The restaurant is definitely going for the upscale Italian feel and generally succeeds. Our server was friendly and very helpful, but was exceedingly slow. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised with Luca Italian Chophouse. It's definitely worth a try and we will probably eat there again the next time we're in the area. And by the way, the Easter Bunny was making its way down Main Street as we pulled out of the parking lot

The building is old and repurposed from the previous establishment. The inside is a stucco style interior with an "Italian" vibe. We were greeted at the door and promptly seated. They did ask if we had reservations which we did not. After being seated we noticed most of the tables were reserved. Note for future outings here. Our server, Marie, was great. We ordered calamari and waters. They do have a nice wine list, beer, and cocktails for those partaking. She returned shortly with our waters and a few minutes later our bread and calamari. The complimentary bread and the calamari were both good. When she dropped off the beverages and appetizer, she took our dinner orders. We ordered the Chicken Francaise, Zuppa di Pesce, and Pollo Parmigiana. While we were waiting for our food, the servers sang happy birthday to someone. It's nice to see restaurants still doing this. Once our food arrived, we were definitely ready to enjoy. Enjoy we did. We all sampled each others plates and we all agreed the dishes were well prepared and tasted great. I'm sure someone will look at the spaghetti with the Pollo Parmigiana and criticize. I will say, the spaghetti and sauce complimented the meal because the chicken was cooked and seasoned just right. A good balance for my liking. We will continue to dine here. Recommend you give it a try. Our server Marie was great! Always seemed to have a smile. Special notes: if you're dining in the evening make reservations. For lunch, I think you're ok without reservations. There's also plenty of parking.

Reservations are a must, as the restaurant gets very busy during dinner--and for good reason. The staff was incredibly friendly, the atmosphere was welcoming and cozy, and the food was beyond delicious. We also loved the drink menu--the lavender martini was fantastic, and the holiday drink selections were a fun touch and very well done. We enjoyed our experience so much that we're already booked to return in two days. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an excellent Italian dining experience on Oak Island!

The most wonderful part of the evening was the fabulous service from Carrie. She could teach a master class in hospitality. I really enjoy the vibe of this restaurant. We felt like "regulars" even though it was only our second visit. It was busy that night but not overly noisy, unlike some restaurants in the area. Soft-shell crab with polenta was a special that night and was enjoyed by our party, as well as the carbonara, mussels, saltimbocca, lasagna, and veal piccata. All dishes were visually appealing, as well as seasoned and portioned appropriately. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is because the calamari were so tiny - like the size of Cheerios. I don't know if that's just what they got in that week or they're always that small. And there was a snafu in the kitchen and my plate came out ten minutes later than everyone else's. But we will definitely return! Thank you again Carrie for treating us so well.

The team is always friendly and we've never had a delivery or pickup order missing anything. We've probably had pizza on about 15 different occasions here and it's always good, always perfectly cooked, always the same amount of ingredients. The crust has a good flavor and the right amount of chew. The sauce tastes pretty good to me. My absolute favorite is the double double which is double cheese and double pepperoni. Super good! Also tried a few of the different hot and cold subs which were all good and they make a really good loaded salad too. Tried the chicken parm and although decent, rhe chicken seemed to be previously frozen or the Tyson precooked variety. The garlic knots, wings and fried apps are all pretty good although standard frozen US foods type stuff. I read these negative reviews complaining about the quality, taste and price... I'm sorry but I just don't get it. This place is legitimately good. The price? Sorry but this ain't little Caesars or Domino's with a coupon and it's still cheaper than Bambinis, Pizzettes, Mo's woodfired, Sebbys etc. The quality is good, it's what you would expect from a small pizzaria. Definitely better than Dry street and blows away the chains. The taste? Look it's not the best pizza in the world but it's good. Good enough to hit that pizza craving spot and good enough to want again. Give this place a shot and see what you think.
