I would not be able to afford this place on the reg, but I enjoyed my experience. I booked an appointment for 10am on a Saturday. I can not think of a better way to start my day than being offered a cup of coffee and then having my hair washed and styled. I booked online and arrived with no issues. DryBar is located in that weird Bermuda triangle of where Cedar Springs/Olive/McKinney/Harry Hines all loop around each other, but my GPS took me straight there. To the immediate left of DryBar there is an entrance for a parking garage so that is where I parked. Was happy to find out parking is validated! The music was full blast in the salon and they offer a lot of complimentary drinks before getting started. I had a short consultation to make sure my stylist and I were on the same page and then she took me back to wash my hair. Very relaxing, Back at the chair I found it interesting that they have TVs on the mirrors so instead of watching your hair be styled you can read the subtitles of the movie that was playing. I enjoyed this a lot. Another great distraction to relax. At the end of the session my stylist flipped my chair around so I could see the final product and I was very happy. They don't know how to do blowouts. My friend and I came for blowouts, and instead of a smooth, bouncy style, my stylist left my hair damp, put it in rollers, then curled my entire head with a curling iron until my long hair was tight, fried curls above my shoulders. The front pieces were curled inwards, then horribly re-curled outwards when I said something, and the whole time my hair smelled burnt. Even our complimentary drinks were forgotten until I asked again and they only brought me a glass, not one for my friend. I left with damaged hair I had to wash and fix myself on my birthday. read more

First off, I really did enjoy my experience here. My boyfriend surprised me with an appointment, and I was so excited! It definitely made me feel so special and beautiful. However, I don't understand why people would pay to come here regularly because it is quite expensive. My appointment was at 2, but I did not get called back until 2:15 or so. No biggie. I believe the girl who did my hair was named Remi. It was hard to hear, so I might have misunderstood her. She was very nice. She didn't talk much at all and didn't try to sell me on any extras. When she was washing my hair, she asked if I wanted any add-ons "like a scalp massage." Trying to be a good girlfriend and not make my bf spend extra money, I told her that I was fine and didn't need anything extra. She simply washed my hair and conditioned it. That in itself was very relaxing and plenty for me! When asked how I wanted my hair styled, I told her that my hair often does not hold a curl. I requested the "Manhattan" which is the straight and sleek style. We moved on from there. She took her time blowdrying my hair. It was soothing and relaxing. They gave me a complimentary small glass of wine (unsure if you get refills or anything but it was a nice touch). She then straightened my hair and put some gloss on it. In all, this took at about ~45 minutes. When I checked out, I was told the amount was $55. We paid this + tip. I left with a printed receipt in hand and did not look at it until I got in the car. I realized I was charged for the scalp massage. Apparently without that, the cost would have been $45 + tip. I did not realize that my boyfriend had already requested for a scalp massage to spoil me. I wish my stylist and the receptionist/cashier would have communicated. Then my stylist would have known to go ahead and do the scalp massage or the lady at the front would have known at the end to not charge us for it since I never got one. Once I realized that I (well my boyfriend) was charged extra for something that I did not receive, I immediately called. I wanted to call quick so they would remember me (& this could easily be resolved). Unfortunately, there is not a local number to call. You have to call a call center, which sends you in circles. Eventually I got someone on the phone and explained what happened, and I was told that customer service will follow up with me. It would be much easier if I could talk directly to the people at Dallas Uptown, since I was there less than 10 minutes ago. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my experience. For special occasions, maybe I would come back. We will see how they handle this mix-up. I am aggravated by how something simple is made so hard. My hair does look great though!! I let them know that it was her bachelorette, called the day of to confirm our appointment, all of that. We show up, we wait 20 minutes to be seated and then we are RUSHED through our service. My hair fell apart on the WAY HOME. Her's by the time we got to dinner. We would have been better off to do our own hair. From walking in the door with a personal greeting (and a beverage request) to leaving with a hug, this place never falls short of a welcoming environment. Angelica did my hair today and she was awesome! The welcoming desk staff had my beverage perfect and ready for me when I sat down. Angelica asked me which blowout style I wanted and we went from there. My scalp was burnt from the lake the day before and Angelica was gentle on my scalp but took GREAT care of my color treated hair. Pretty dissatisfied with the experience. The receptionist seemed to be disinterested in clients. My stylist was sweet, but my curls lasted about 2 hours. We discussed that my hair didn't hold curl super well, but this was outrageous how quickly it fell. There was no hairspray used, only texturizing spray. I went to the Highland Park location which has been around the longest. Plus parking is not an issue. I just didn't get the impression that the person blow drying my hair knew anything at all about, well, blow drying hair. So disappointed! My daughters and I booked and appointment a month in advance for a wedding we were attending. We wanted a relaxing no hassle day. We got there and and the front desk was super friendly and offered us a drink while we waited. They took us back one by one and we all ended up in a room together. They started to dry our hair and my girl asked what I wanted. I wanted big volume with lots of curls. My daughters also told them what they wanted. They told us appointments were supposed to be 45 minutes so we scheduled accordingly. After an hour I was surprised when she said I was done by what I saw in the mirror. She didn't even put hairspray in it. I thought I will just spray it good when I get back to the hotel. So I took an Uber back to the hotel to get my granddaughter ready because her mom was still there and we were going to be running short on time. When I got back to my room my hair had no volume and was very flat. The ends were either frizzy or straight as a string. I had to recurl it all and try to get it to look halfway decent. What a total waste of time. My oldest daughter had the EXACT experience as I did. My youngest daughter's hair turned out nice (the reason they got an extra star) I wish I'd never gone to the "professionals" Should have just done it myself! **UPDATE** The manager did refund $90 of the $135 which was appreciated but it will never erased the fact that every time I look at the wedding pictures I will forever see our messed up hair! I called ahead and let them know we would be 8 minutes late because of traffic on the tollway. We arrived 11minutes late because we had to circle the block due to poor signage denoting the location. We arrived 4 minutes prior to their 15 minute policy and were told we could only get dry services. I can live with that for me because I have extensions but my mom's hair texture is very quick to dry and short so the styling would only take a few minutes. I get life (traffic) happens and there is nothing either of us can do about that, but the fact that we arrived within 15 minutes and my moms hair type was not taken into consideration is not acceptable to me. read more

Why did you go to an outsourced phone service?!? I had one question, the person on the phone is not at the location and doesn't have any experience at a salon. She had to type a message and what for a response. She did not know what I was trying to ask, after 5 minutes of going back and forth for one question, I just ended up hanging up. I can't stand business that outsource to a call center. Most of the time they are not even in the US *******Update******** I changed mine to 1 star. I had surgery on my neck 9 days ago. I am unable to have my hair washed in the sinks. I have a handicapped setup in my shower currently. I just need my hair blow dried. They are unwilling to change and want to charge the same price as a wash, blow dry and style. I guess those are not services they are able provide, which is fine, but again just disappointed and terrible customer service. I was able to setup with a hairdresser down the street to come in every 4 days for just a blow dry $15. This is customer service!! She get, with tip, $20 for 10 minutes of her services. Extremely frustrated with how my hair turned out. I showed the stylist photos of what I wanted which were very simply. I wanted my hair straight with flipped ends. The stylist did not listen and began curling my hair. He even admitted at the end of the visit that he didn't know how to do what the picture was so "I just curled it." My review is more of a company wide review because every location is worse than the next. This was my most recent experience. Every single time I want to pamper myself I give Drybar another try (let's face it we all know they can't do hair it's more of a relaxing experience) thing is I can't relax in my chair when I KNOW and can FEEL that my hair is dirty. Finally canceling membership after 2 years of "maybe next time will be better". they won't properly wash your hair, If you tell them, they'll get more shampoo, and STILL not properly wash your hair. This last time I stopped my stylist and said "can I just wash it" (she let me, so I washed my own hair..) I knew I wouldn't enjoy the rest of my service with dirty hair. I usually don't have the courage to be that bold so this time I put it in my notes when booking the appt. When I checked in I saw the front desk tell my stylist that my notes says "pls just properly wash my hair. It's thick and I hate getting it styled while it's still dirty". My stylist already had an off vibe when she greeted me. Every time I'm here it's worse than the last. Honestly two years ago I LOVED Drybar. Quality, talent and service is down the drain. They SUCK. Can't wait to spend my money somewhere they can actually provide the service we're paying for. Wash and blow dry.. NOT THAT HARD. they don't want to do the washing and suck at blowouts. My hair has fallen after twenty minutes even when I told my stylist it had to last until 3pm today. She used the "light hold" hairspray and I have very thick hair so it dropped practically immediately. It looks nothing like the picture. This is by far the worst DryBar location. I meant to schedule an appointment at the Highland Park location, but accidentally selected Uptown instead. No big deal. I drove to the Uptown location. There are only a few parking spots on the street, so I parked in the parking garage with reserved spots for DryBar. When I left, I queued up in the parking garage in a long line of cars to exit. When I scanned my parking ticket, it was $25.00. I had parked for less than 1 hr. The screen said "$25.00 without validation". There were several cars behind me so I couldn't back up and go in to ask for validation. Nobody at the front asked me if I needed parking validation. Do they even validate your parking? I will never know because I'll never go back. Also, sadly it was the worst shampoo, blow dry, and style yet at a DryBar. It's 2 hours later and I'm at home restyling my hair. $55 for blow dry, $11 tip, $25 parking. Lesson learned. read more

Ok I used to go to Drybar in la and loved it. This Drybar ain't it. I have been here 2 times the first time I immediately went home washed my hair and redid it myself. Today I went again literally showed her pictures of exactly how I wanted my hair and I literally have Shirley temple curls and I asked for beach waves! And I told her I don't need this to last and get better I have a show to do in two hours and I need it to look good now! And let me know even start with my roots which are still completely curly and soooo frizzy! I also told her I had to use sulfate free shampoo because I just got a keratin treatment. She said she had to read the ingredients to check then she just said ok. First of all you should know if you have sulfate free shampoo secondly I don't think it was because my hair was super sleek and smooth before and now it looks frizzy. I usually blow dry my own hair and it's sleek and perfect. If this lady messed up my 400 dollar keratin treatment I'm going to be extremely upset!!! This is the worst blowout I've ever had in my life and now I don't have time to wash and redo it myself and today I have an important shoot! I literally came home and started crying! I love going to all the Dry Bars because my blow outs look professionally done & the styles last one week. Easy parking. Great selection of styles to choose & all the stylists I've had can replicate which style I select from the booklet - that way, the standard & quality is always on target each time. Loved my blowout! I received an email that this Drybar was giving away free blow outs during their Hallmark Movie event. I have gone to a Drybar once before this time but I figured i'd give it a go since it was free. My stylist was SUPER nice. Her name was Kelly or Hailey I couldn't get her name right since it was loud lol. This Drybar is a bit tricky to get into, you have to park in the parking garage and then follow the signs inside that lead you to the Drybar outside. if it's your first time visiting I recommend you come 15-20 minutes early just to make sure. I came 10 mins early and barely made my appt in time. I requested a scalp massage with my blow out and i've noticed some people say it's not worth the extra money but the stylist that I had really gave me a good scalp massage I highly think it's 100% worth it. She took an extra 15 mins just to shampoo and applied a lot of pressure (good thing) I received good champagne and talked to my stylist! Turns out she has been with Drybar for 6 years! She explained that she doesn't work at this location a lot only a couple times a month (bummer, she's amazing!) She did the cosmo-tai and she explained that this would later convert to a mai-tai as the curls will start to fall. Sure enough, the next morning most of the curls have loosened up. I think i will be able to wear this look out another day it just needs some retouching. Overall, $45 ain't that bad if you're going to an event or just want to treat yourself. Just like any look they're not going to last forever so if you want a look for an event always request the curls to be tighter and ask that they're not brushed out. You might look like Shirley Temple walking out but they will loosen up by the time of your event. When it was time for my check out they explained that everything was taken care of plus a $10 tip. I checked my bank acct and I wasn't charged so not sure how that worked out. Just went in for a French braid, no blow out. Was told it was going to be $90. Yes that's right NINETY DOLLARS for a French braid that takes 5 minutes. So I just cancelled my membership. They advertise $10 braids but then say they can't do that. Don't go here. I had gotten double braids on dry hair before and was charged $20 as advertised $10/ braid, but today it is $90. read more
