What a STEAL. I needed to get my hair done for a wedding and they offer a great deal: dry style + glass of champagne, mimosa, wine, coffee or tea for $35! They offer a lot of great dry styles to choose from and my stylist offered a better suggestion. I felt like a minion bucks!

Drybar is still the best blowout franchise in the country. I used Drybar in Hawaii and was almost always satisfied with the atmosphere and service. It was my first time at the Ann Arbor location, but every Drybar is virtually identical, as are the styles offered. I added a charcoal scalp scrub and liquid glass smoothing sealant along with my blowout. The results were excellent, and I loved how glossy and smooth my hair looked, but with the bounce that comes with a blowout as opposed to a flat ironing. Not sure if some of the add-ons were worth it, however. I thought I'd feel more of the charcoal scalp scrub and that it would be more of a massage, but it wasn't. The style lasted nearly a week, so perhaps the liquid glass smoothing sealant worked, but I don't think it was worth an additional $15. I remember when scalp massages and product came with the service for free, but now everything has co-charge. Overall, satisfied with the outcome, and I would use this Drybar location again.

First timer. I called ahead for a walk in as I was late for a family photoshoot and didn't want to bother with my hair. The receptionist was very nice and promptly handed me a mimosa. I had to wait a little while, but they took $10 off the service price to make up for it, without me saying anything at all or asking. The wait was honestly pleasant, I liked the atmosphere and I didn't mind waiting since I had a very yummy mimosa in hand. I forgot the name of my stylist but she was very nice and didn't hurt my hair or my neck at all (I'm used to students). My hair looked beautiful, she did a great job, we had a good conversation, and everyone was super nice. Go Drybar Ann Arbor! I'll be coming back.

FINALLY!! Ann Arbor has a Drybar! Gorgeous hair is in style! While living in Houston, I was a regular client at my local Drybar - a national brand that specializes in one thing: Blow-outs (and the occasional up-do). The formula is simple: The Drybar is staffed by stylist that specialize in creating your perfect blow-dried look. To make it easy, the Drybar has a menu of styles that can help you identify that the look that you are hoping to achieve. You start with a good wash, then the stylists get to work, which even for my long hair, takes less than 45 minutes. On my most recent visit, I was pressed for time and was treated by having two stylists working at once, which resulted in a 12 minutes blow-dry style! Since Drybar's arrival in A2, I have booked several appointment all before work. Their first appointment is at 7:00 am, which has made it super easy for me to stop on my way. Finally, blow-outs are $45, which is essentially the competitive local and national price. Somewhat annoyingly, all calls are received by a central call center, so be forewarned if you are trying to reach anyone at the actual salon.

Thank you to the yelp staff who arranged for the elite yelper's to go to an event at the dry bar. I have noticed this place, originally thinking it might be an alcohol bar. However I wasn't quite sure of the name! LOL I came to realize it is a place to get awesome blowouts of your hair. They do not cut, they do not color- just wash and blow dry. It is located between the Urban Toddler and Cloth & Kind. I would suggest entering and exiting via Plat street instead of trying to turn in and out onto Washtenaw Avenue. There is a free parking lot. I was greeted promptly by the receptionist Kaitlyn. She took my coat and offered to get me a beverage. There were many to choose from, I choose the adult beverage. I was then greeted by Paige, my stylist. I already knew what kind of blowout I wanted (there is a menu of services outside and on line)so off we went to the back of the facility where there was the hair washing area. The sink is not like in some traditional salons. You do not recline. You are basically sitting up with your head back in a bowl and your feet up on a footstool. For me with my neck issues, it was not as comfortable as when you are reclined but it was not uncomfortable either. After having my hair washed, we went to the blowout area. The decor is modern and clean. There is a place to hook your purse underneath the counter so your purse does not have to sit on the floor. I like that a lot. I got the southern blowout which, as the name suggests, has a fair amount of volume. They used a technique I don't use at home of keeping brushes in your hair while it is cooling to help with the volume as well as using Velcro rollers after they dried my hair. I looked crazy but the results were great. The manager Catherine was there and we chatted a little bit after my hair was done. I wanted to wait a few days after I had the blowout to post this review to tell you how it lasted. A blowout is $45, which from what I can tell is the going rate. I have fairly straight hair to begin with. The next day my hair was no longer full, but I was able to tease it back into shape. So for me, a blowout although nice, is probably not as important as if I had very thick curly hair. I think for women with thick curly hair, this place is a amazing. I know other people who come here and love the straight look that they get. So if that is you, I would highly recommend this place. For my hair type, I would go back and try one of their updos if I were going to a wedding or an event.

Corny joke alert. Why was Pavlov's hair so soft? Because he conditioned it. (Author unknown) Conditioned, soft, and beautiful will your hair be after a visit to Drybar! TL;DR 1. They have booze and snacks :) 2. Option to watch chick flicks during the appointment :) 3. Clean, beautiful space :) 4. Friendly employees (thank you Ashley and Sabrina!) :) 5. Beautiful results on my long, thick Asian hair. I've never felt more mermaid-like :) 6. Heavily fragranced hair products :( 7. Recommendation: Certify their products for public health/sustainability, promote a social cause (Disclaimer: I was invited here through a Yelp Elite event. Thank you Yelp!) Full review below: Drybar is anything but dry. Upon arrival, I was offered a beverage by Sabrina at the front and could choose from water, tea, coffee, mimosa, and wine. Being offered alcohol at a salon during an appointment was a first for me. There were also these delicious lemon cookies sitting at the counter guests could much on with their drink. I was so hungry since I didn't have time to eat breakfast earlier that morning and rushed to my appointment at noon. I inhaled those deletectable lemon goodies. Booze and snacks. I may have had my pinky bent slightly out on my glass of mimosa. The appointment was getting off to a fancy start. I was eventually led to a seat towards the back left corner of the salon and asked by my stylist Ashley to choose from a menu of looks. They all had cocktail-themed names like The Manhattan, Mai Tai, Straight Up, Shirley Temple (for kids!), Dirty Martini, Southern Comfort, etc. I chose a combination of the Cosmo-Tai and Southern Comfort: beachy with loose curls. My particular seat was in front of a large screen TV playing Miss Congeniality. Classic. Ashley explained to me they have a rotation of chick flicks playing throughout the day like How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and Bridesmaid. During the holidays, they play Hallmark/Christmas-themed movies. There are also subtitles so you can still understand everything with a loud blowdryer next to your head. Once I selected my style, Ashley took me to the back for a relaxing head massage and shampoo. We made small talk and I watched the movie while she worked on drying my hair and curling it with an assortment of tools. The salon space was really nice - clean, modern, with lots of natural lighting. The chairs were 'bar-seating,' where customers sat in front of one long rectangular table that encircled a pillar of TVs/shelves. It was hard to see my reflection in the mirror in front of me since it was mostly covered by the TV and shelves holding hair products/decor items. But I think the point was to be surprised by the results at the end of the appointment when they whip you around in your chair to face a mirror for the 'big reveal.' There is a large mirror behind every seat at the salon to facilitate this effect. Ashley did an amazing job with my hair. My hair is incredibly thick and heavy, making it difficult to style and hold a curl. I usually don't even bother because of the tremendous effort it takes to shape it. Ashley meticulously styled and curled every strand of hair, resulting in a beautiful cascade of hair that would turn a mermaid green with envy. She also explained all the Drybar products (which also have cocktail-themed names) she used in my hair as she went along. I docked a star because of the heavy fragrance that wafted off my hair the rest of the day from the Drybar products. I am sensitive to strong scents/perfumes and get a huge headache if I don't remove myself from the source immediately. An ibuprofen helped to take care of that later though that afternoon. Ashley did ask if I was okay with product in my hair at the beginning of the appointment. I will opt out on my next visit. Nonetheless, most of my curls held for the remainder of the day. If I could make any suggestions to improve, my recommendation to Drybar is to consider formulating hair products that are fragrance-free and have some certification proving its safety to public health and dedication to the environment or social cause. For instance, irritation-free formula, low VOCs released from sprays, packaging is recyclable, portion of proceeds donated to fighting domestic violence, etc. Drybar would be a great place to host events like showers, birthdays, galentine's day, etc. I would definitely come back here to get my hair styled for a special event or for a rainy day! Thank you Yelp for the special chance to try out Drybar!

Prosecco with my blow dry? Why yes, thank you.

This location compared to Santa Monica, California, is infinitely nicer, cleaner and better stocked. The blowouts are not bad, and although the staff is knowledgeable on doing different styles, they could probably use a bit more training on products for different hair types. Everyone there is super friendly and accommodating and, as always, the scheduling through the app is super quick and easy.

I went in for a weekend pick me up as I've had a pretty sucky weekend, and this yelp elite event had me sucked in after I left church. I went in early and had to wait a few minutes later than my appointment time I had scheduled as they had a party come in before me. I was in no rush, plus they sent over a complimentary mimosa to enjoy for my visit. Marie came and took me to the chair and gave me a look book to go over, but I wasn't super picky. We then went to the back and I got my hair washed and then we got the styling started. It was a nice experience. She didn't talk much, which is fine with me because I'm not a big talker - and my mood probably showed as well. (sorry Marie!) The scent of the product they used is a bit strong for me and gave me a slight headache, (artificial vanilla?) but my hair is super shiny. I did have a bit of an issue with needing a card to set up a reservation. After I got in the seat post wash, I received a "receipt" in my email showing a bill and tip that I did not complete, nor was it named with my stylist. I asked about it when I was leaving and the manager said it was in error and voided. I gave the receptionist a $20 to give to Marie, as she went to the back room right after she walked me to the counter. I hope she got it!

I had a wonderful experience visiting Drybar. I was invited as a Yelp Elite Event. It was my first time going to a salon that exclusively specializes in blowouts. I love the concept of not having to sit at a salon for hours. It's great idea to be able to get in and out within an hour. I was warmly greeted when I entered. I was introduced to Taylor who was my stylist . She showed me a style book, I was able to choose which type of blow out I was wanting. Once I chose one, I was then immediately offered coffee, tea, water, wine or a mimosa. How could I pass a mimosa.... I had a consult with Taylor then we went over to the shampoo area. Taylor gave me a complimentary deep conditioning treatment. After that was rinsed our , we went to her chair. The salon has an open concept then, there is a long table where 6 stylists can do clients blow outs. I enjoyed my time and was happy with the results of my blow out. I was most pleased to get in and out in a hour which is unheard of for my curly hair to get straight that quickly.

Hit or miss, and today was a definite miss. Heading to Indianapolis for a meeting and hopefully a quick stop at that Dry Bar before my meeting, or up in a bun it stays and what to do with my bangs is going to be iffy. My neighbor, "thought you went to have your hair done". Yep. Better luck next time.

WOW! So wish I had one of these closer to me. I was invited to a Yelp Elite event here and I'm so happy I was able to make the hour long drive. I am so happy with my wash, blow dry and style. Upon my arrival I was checked in and asked if I wanted coffee, water or tea to drink. I needed to use the restroom first- which by the way was very clean. After that I sat down and looked through the style book. I chose the Mai Tai. I was taken back for a wash. The stylist told me about each product that she put in my hair. First a charcoal scrub, shampoo, and then conditioner. The conditioner felt amazing! It had like a cooling effect to my scalp. After that we went back to the chair and the stylist started to blow dry my hair, then style it. Each time she added a product she would tell me about it. The only thing I didn't particularly like was that there were no mirrors very close to watch what the stylist was doing. Even when I get my hair cut and colored I love watching my stylist and her techniques. I would definitely come back to Dry Bar weekly if there was one closer to me. Here's hoping to one opening soon!

I had seriously such a great time here! Everyone is very welcoming and just so friendly. Their styling products and even shampoo/conditioner smell so lovely and left my hair feeling amazing (and I saw they're cruelty free)! Marie was my stylist and she was amazing and gave me suggestions of what to do. They have a style book, which is really helpful, since I'm incredibly indecisive and honestly don't know what would look the best on me. I was able to do a combination of two or three. If you have an event coming up, or just want to get fancy for whatever reason, go check this place out!

The style area for dry style I'm assuming ($25 and up if I'm not mistaken)

I came here recently for a yelp elite event - this location is so beautiful! It is located in the Arbor Hills complex - what's also amazing is there is a coffee shop right next door. I believe Kasey or Katie did my hair - ahh I spaced on her name and wish it had been included on my post blow our survey but I really appreciated how she took her time doing my hair- one hour to be exact and she really listened to my concerns about my hair not being very thick and helped with product suggestion etc. I had a few questions for her such as if the salon washes / will place clip in / other extensions in and she was not sure but I do think the Drybar website may mention doing it for an upcharge? Anyways they sat me down and I got to drink some tea and read some magazines- wish they had more than 4 for me to peruse as I read almost all of them during my appointment! My hair looked great when I left and I did get compliments but i would not sign up for Drybar as I feel if you do not have much hair/ it's texture is fine it just doesn't last (the style) all day. At the end of the day my sister asked me what happened to my blowout as it had fallen out a bit. I would recommend Drybar but only to gals with very thick hair that holds volume!

I always book with Cameron Hawley, and honestly, he just gets hair. I don't trust many people with mine because it's taken me a long time to grow it out and take care of it, but he was the first person to cut it after two years of no trims, and I've been coming back every three months ever since. My hair has never felt better. I also brought my mom once, she wanted a short haircut, but Cameron made a better recommendation based on her face shape, and it turned out amazing. She left feeling so confident and beautiful! I've also been doing the strengthening treatment with my cuts, and it's made my hair noticeably healthier and shinier. This time around, I came in for a trim and a Keratin Express treatment, and the results were wowwwww. With all the rain lately, I usually get a ton of frizz, but this treatment actually works and is totally worth the hype. I also picked up a few products Cameron recommended including a mousse, an anti‑frizz serum, and a thermic treatment. Full disclosure: I'm a Kérastase lover and have been using the brand for years, but I didn't know about these specific treatments. Now I'm obsessed. My hair feels so smooth, glowy, and healthy. If you're picky about who touches your hair, Cameron is your guy. I couldn't be happier with the results every single visit!!!!

I am a bride who started engaging with Aysha for her bridal hair services during January this year. My wedding is in September, it is August now. Just a few days ago, Aysha upped her prices for her bridal services a month before my wedding, telling me that this reason is to honor "inflation." When I refused, telling her she needed to honor the contract I signed at the time of "booking" her, she claimed that contract was not real because she did not countersign it. She also told me explicitly that she could raise the prices as she pleased as it was her business. Lastly, she said if I was not comfortable with the upped charges, that she will find another artist of "lesser cost" to me. The thing is, I paid Aysha a Zelle deposit for 30% of the services at the time I "booked" her and signed the contract from my side. Although money was exchanged, she is somehow claiming this was not a real contract. Right after she did this to me, I took the night to properly evaluate my experiences with her - which were all really awful. She never responded to me on time. She belittled me when we spoke. She took advantage of my stress as a bride. The next morning, I chose to not proceed with her bridal hair services (after she increased the prices for "inflation"). Since she was alleging this contract was not valid, she has no case to keep my money. I called her to tell her this and to return my deposit, but she told me "she does not think she can return it," because "it is only a month away from the wedding date." (Tell me how ironic it is that she even attempted to argue that, considering SHE was the one originally threatening to cancel her services on me if I didn't agree to pay her more! And, imagine how I felt as THE BRIDE when she called to threaten the validity of her contract with me, one month before the wedding!!!) She then tried saying that she would consider honoring the original contract prices to avoid paying the deposit back to me, but I did not want a hair stylist who manipulated me that way... she broke my trust! She said she would call me back, but she did not. I tried calling her - she did not pick up. I emailed her documenting all the horrible things she did to me (she is extremely disorganized; she could not even remember which bride I was whenever she would finally respond), also using that email as a formal written notice to ask for my money back by that Friday, and she did not even respond. Even before she increased her prices to me, Aysha had always been flaky with me and sometimes took months before she responded to my emails and texts (this was true even after I paid her my deposit and thought we were booked). As a bride, every day can feel like a year when you are planning every detail out, so punctuality and accountability with your vendors is critical. I learned I was not the only bride who experienced this, but I learned too late. Some girl who I know personally also experienced an extremely similar case, but she did not speak up because she thought it would not change anything. I only found out by expressing my angst to a friend that many other brides were in the same boat as me. It appears there are others even on Yelp who also went through what I did. I beg of all brides who experienced the same things as us - please do your part and LEAVE AN HONEST REVIEW! So if she is that bad, why all the positive reviews, you ask? In my opinion, I think this is because Aysha knows how to charm people. Even after telling me she was increasing the prices, which is completely unacceptable given the pretense of a contract we had, she somehow played the victim card by saying she shouldn't have booked a bride who couldn't honor her "high prices." I was perfectly willing to pay the amount we agreed to in writing, but somehow she was repainting the narrative. It's very manipulative behavior! When she raises her prices shortly before a bride's wedding, the bride will likely just pay it to make sure the booking still is valid. Unfortunately for Aysha, I am not that kind of a bride, and I am going to take every appropriate, legal action I can to get my money back and spread the truth. If you are a bride, please - don't end up in my shoes. Listen to the reviews, do your research, and pick someone reliable. It's your special day! Please, pick someone deserving to do your hair. Positive vibes only.
