I experienced a sewer overflow that contaminated nearly half of my home, creating an extremely stressful and overwhelming situation. Two different friends recommended Elite Rooter, and I was very impressed with their professionalism and efficiency. Elite Rooter Plumbing then referred me to Dry Out Republic for the mitigation services. Dry Out Republic's Field Manager, Tyrie, arrived at my property before I did, as I was still returning home from work when the incident occurred. From the very beginning, Tyrie demonstrated exceptional professionalism, expertise, and efficiency. He took charge of the situation immediately, kept me informed throughout every stage of the process, and ensured that everything was handled properly in close communication with his crew. The entire crew was equally impressive. Farid, Lion, Arturo, Edward, and Ross were all professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and highly responsible. Their attention to detail and commitment to doing the job right gave me confidence during a very difficult time. I also had positive experiences with Abdul, who coordinated the original scheduling of the crews, and Marcelia in the billing department. Both were consistently polite, professional, and helpful. Thanks to the outstanding teamwork and customer service provided by everyone at Dry Out Republic, a very stressful situation became much more manageable. I highly recommend Dry Out Republic to anyone in need of mitigation and restoration services. Silvia P. Ramona, CA August 2026 read more

These are my personal views based on my experience after retaining Dry Out Medics for water mitigation work at my property. My claim started in 9/2025 and concluded in 8/2026. I wish I could leave a five-star review, but my experience with Dry Out Medics / Dry Out Republic involved serious operational, billing, and communication issues that made an already stressful situation substantially worse. Based on my experience, I would recommend homeowners research other mitigation companies before retaining this company. If you are already working with Dry Out Medics, my strongest recommendation is to protect yourself by keeping everything in writing. DEMETRIUS LAMPKIN - PROJECT MANAGER - Demetrius personally came to my residence following the water loss and reviewed my Progressive/Homesite insurance policy while sitting in my office. - His primary concern regarding my insurance was my deductible and available coverage. During those discussions, I was verbally told that I would probably even "get money back." - The Work Authorization was presented to me on an iPad while I was dealing with water coming from upstairs to downstairs. I was told that the agreement contained standard "boilerplate" language and that delaying further could potentially result in insurance denying the claim. - I was not provided a copy of the executed Work Authorization after signing it. I also do not recall being advised of a three-day cancellation right. - After the mitigation work was completed, I personally texted Demetrius because Progressive was requesting the final bill. He acknowledged my message. Months then passed while I believed Dry Out Medics was handling the insurance/billing process. DEMO / CONTAINMENT TEAM - Debris was left in common walkways after the work. I ultimately cleaned up after the crew myself. I chose not to turn it into a larger issue at the time because I understand mistakes happen. MAE TAE - ADMINISTRATION - Months after the mitigation work was completed, Mae Tae informed me that Assurant could not locate the claim information being used. This was confusing because Demetrius had personally reviewed my Progressive/Homesite policy at the beginning of the project. MARCEILA COPES - BILLING / COLLECTIONS This was by far the most concerning portion of my experience and the primary reason my opinion of the company deteriorated. - Dry Out Medics began pursuing me personally for approximately $9,000. - I was given the position that the HOA/Farmers claim had been denied and that I was responsible for the balance. I repeatedly requested documentation supporting that conclusion. - When I requested proof of my signed Work Authorization, I was initially sent an unsigned copy. - The Farmers correspondence I subsequently obtained reflected that the claim had been CLOSED pending additional information - not formally DENIED. - That distinction mattered because Progressive had communicated that it needed a formal denial from Farmers before it could reconsider the mitigation claim. - Collection communications continued while the underlying insurance issue remained unresolved. - After communicating with Progressive, Marceila referenced approximately $30,000 previously paid by Progressive and stated in writing, "Since you have received $30,000.00 from your insurance provider, there are sufficient funds to cover this invoice." - Those funds were for the separate flooring/restoration work and had been paid to that contractor. Dry Out's mitigation invoice was a separate matter. - In that same email, Marceila stated, "The HOA has denied the claim." - The email also stated that if a payment arrangement could not be established, Dry Out would have "no option but to pursue alternative methods of collection." - I repeatedly challenged those representations and requested documentation because Progressive had separately communicated that it required an actual denial from Farmers before reconsidering the mitigation claim. - After I formally escalated the matter with the HOA, Marceila later wrote that communication could continue on the main thread to determine where the claim stood and "who will ultimately be responsible for the balance." If responsibility still needed to be determined, that was exactly the point I had been making. THE OUTCOME Farmers ultimately conducted further review and approved payment of the ENTIRE Dry Out Medics invoice. Dry Out Medics received the payment. Dry Out Medics subsequently confirmed in writing that my account was paid in full, reflected a $0.00 balance, that no further amount was due from me, and that the file was officially closed. read more

I'd be very cautious using this company, especially if they were referred by your plumber. Mitigation is already one of the most stressful parts of dealing with a flood, and you're often forced to make quick decisions while vulnerable and overwhelmed. In my experience, items were broken with little accountability, and the charges submitted to my insurance were significantly higher than expected, ultimately leading to an investigation. I would strongly recommend reviewing every charge carefully and understanding exactly what you're agreeing to before work begins. read more

Dry Out Republic is a truly amazing company. When I had a leak in my bathroom they responded immediately. Tyrie came out within 30 minutes He quickly set up a dry out machine and organized everything He kept me informed throughout the whole process and when I had questions, he always picked up the phone or responded to my text right away. He was so kind and very helpful. Abdul the scheduler was also great. The whole team was very polite and efficient. Highly recommend. read more

Dry out medics tried to collect $9,490.40 for a $3,221.57 claim. That's a $6268.83 descrepancy. For such small claims I pay out of pocket rather than file home owner insurance claims. I did not want to file a claim for this job, which Dry Out Medics was well aware of, but they told me my bill was already roughly $10,000. So I filed a Home Owners Insurance claim needlessly. Had I not, Dry Out Medics would be after me for the $9,490.40 they were unsuccessful coercing out of Farmers Insurance. read more

Dry Out Republic - claimed and collected - Damage Restoration Near Me - San Diego, California

I had a leak in the ceiling of my condo, and the plumber said there was some water damage. "I know a guy," he says. Of course he does. So, okay. Guy shows up. Super friendly. But every time I ask what anything might cost, he says he has to "run the numbers." Run the numbers. Dude. You know the numbers. You do this for a living. Say the numbers! Instead, he whips out his little electromagnetic moisture meter and starts running randomly around the hall where it conveniently reports 100% saturation every single time. Hmmmm.Whole thing took maybe 15 minutes. Then, before leaving, he stations a big-ass dehumidifier in my hallway to "begin drying things out." First of all: if the solution is "leave a big-ass fan machine in the hall," what exactly do I need help with? Second: without a contained environment, that thing isn't drying the wall. It's just aggressively dehumidifying my entire apartment complex. But whatever, that was good for my skin anyway. Felt like a nice gesture. At this point you're probably thinking, "this homeowner is a sucker." Yeah. I kinda am. I generally want to trust people. And honestly, I don't even think homeboy was a bad guy. Just that he participating in a hustle that maybe he hadn't been fully trained on. Important detail here: at NO POINT had anyone communicated any fees. None for the 15-minute "assessment." None for the industrial hallway humidifier. Nothing. Then, as he's leaving -- still without mentioning any pricing whatsoever -- I finally get the genius idea to ask what this might all cost. Now look, I understand that until walls get opened up, you can't know the true cost. But most contractors at least offer a rough estimate instead of acting like they're pricing uranium futures. He says maybe $10k-15k. Tried to keep a poker face on that one, but I literally almost left my body. But THEN he reassures me: "Don't worry. Insurance will cover it." Oh, and ALSO, he'll personally be my project manager. And if I just hand over my insurance info, he will handle everything "without me lifting a finger." Wow! Amazing! A stranger I met 20 minutes ago wants to manage a five-figure insurance claim on my behalf. Like I said, I'm a sucker. I was honestly considering it, just because this shit is stressful and managing home repairs sucks. Happily, my wife is the adult in the family and handles our insurance. When I called to ask for the insurance info, she was immediately like, "Absolutely not." And the more I thought about it, the more the whole thing started smelling weird. Then -- and this is what finally got me clear on the scam -- I get an unsolicited call from an asbestos abatement company that Dry-Out Medics had apparently dispatched into my life without my knowledge. Within second, homeboy calls me back desperately backpedaling. "Let me run the numbers again.""I can talk to my boss.""See what we can do." Yeah. That's a hard nope. Still, they didn't come pick up the dehumidifier for four days. I thought the whole thing was over until I received an invoice for "work completed." Wait, what work? They did absolutely zero work. None. But here's the truly beautiful part: while Dry-Out Medics feels like a scam, they are shockingly bad at the actual scam portion of the operation. Maybe that's a positive thing? The first line item on the invoice was -- and I quote -- "Showing up to assess water damage..." Which is incredible because right there on their website it says their ONE HOUR ASSESSMENT IS FREE. Dude was in my unit for like 30 minutes. At this point I remembered signing some "work authorization" on his tablet while he rapidly scrolled past pages saying things like:"Yeah, standard contract.""Nothing unusual.""Just boilerplate." That kinda started me panicking, since nobody reads contracts they sign. Right? Oh, just me? Riiiiight But when I went to read the contract, it ruled. Not only did the contract NOT mention any of the mystery charges on the invoice... the line where a normal company would put an estimate literally said: "NOT APPLICABLE." Best contract I've ever signed in my life. So look: maybe Dry-Out Medics is actually good at water mitigation. I couldn't say. But there are tons of companies out there that will dry your walls without trying to separate you from your insurance deductible. You should call them instead. read more

Please don't fall for this scam I'm telling you guys I wish if I was able to tell you guys before this name even comes up to you guys not to do it I would. I had a leakage in my bathroom and I had a plumber recommend this poorly functioned company and I as a homeowner just needed some help , so I decided to let them come over and take a look and as soon as they came over the first thing they said was to start and file a claim and that they would help me and speak on my behalf to get me approved for all the work they instantly started working on with no prices given to me , after I repeated to my "project manager" apparently they're all project managers , but anyway they started all the work , they made holes , they brought in machines for about an entire month they said to keep all the machines on. When I would try to reach out to them during that time being I'm lucky if I got a text back from someone. The only time I got a respond is when they were ready to come collect their equipment and charge me. At the end of the day I had to pay out of pocket for all the equipment that I asked them multiple times to take it because I didn't want no work done if the insurance was not going to cover any of it , they ended up saying they had to charge me for everything just to end up with a hole on my kitchen. Keep in mind this entire time I want able to use my kitchen because they masked it off the entire time. The best part was when they billed me over the phone they said I hope you refer us to friends , family , neighbors like they had been any type of help at all . If there was a negative star option that's what I would have put . read more

Dry Out Medics advertises itself as a 5-star Yelp business, but my experience fell well short of that. I didn't choose them directly--they were subcontracted by my plumbing company after my water heater leak. My so-called "project manager," Abdul, did not provide the level of coordination I expected. For example, the remediation crew arrived to begin work before the plumbing company had even removed the leaking water heater, causing a full day delay in the project. On the positive side, the technicians themselves were courteous and trustworthy, and the company had the professional equipment needed to dry out the water damage efficiently. Better project management would have made a significant difference. read more

If less than 1 star was an option, that is what I would give them. Do not rely on them for anything other than lying. They open a claim on your behalf with your insurance company. Then they discourage you from allowing your insurance company adjuster to come onsite until they demo the area. They install equipment that doesn't work, refuse to tell you the cost of the service, refuse to pick up the equipment when requested, send technicians out every other day, refuse to communicate and give you a huge bill only after the insurance company denies the claim. read more

I can't say enough good things about Dry-Out Medics! When my neighbor's unit had a flood that reached my home, Demetrius and his team (Geronimo, Jack, Aristotle, and Noah) arrived immediately to assess and mitigate the damage. They installed air scrubbers and dehumidifiers, performed moisture testing, and handled all necessary demolition work with professionalism and care. Throughout the process, they were polite, communicative, and incredibly respectful of both our home and our schedules--leaving the work areas spotless after each visit. Demetrius, in particular, was fantastic. From day one, he inspired total confidence with his expertise and was always willing to get on the phone to explain what was happening and why. On the scheduling side, Destiny in their office was also wonderful--super friendly and accommodating. The whole team did excellent work, and I wouldn't hesitate to 100% recommend them to anyone dealing with water damage. If you need a responsive, knowledgeable, and professional crew, these are the people to call! read more

Truly a one-of-a-kind and helpful team. They went above and beyond--hiring high-quality contractors who quickly identified my water damage and provided an effective, affordable solution. Excellent communication, honest pricing, and reliable results. Stop scrolling and give them a call--you won't regret it! read more

Dry out medics was sent my property as a referral from a plumber who came. They tried to convince us to submit an insurance claim for some work they said we needed, but wanted us to commit insurance fraud so the insurance would cover their services. Not being willing to commit fraud, I got another opinion. The other licensed contractor said I needed a mop, a fan and a gallon of bleach. He provided examples of why and how the other claims were wrong. The second opinion saved me spending thousands of dollars on something that I was able to take care of in 2 hours and $15. I dodged a bullet and hope you will too. Don't let them convince you to submit a claim that will make your insurance go up or get cancelled unless you get another opinion and fully understand your options and what is needed. For example, the man with the moisture meter said I had to replace my tile floor to avoid dry rot but the house is on a slab. He said the drywall was saturated, but the walls are plaster and the mdf baseboards were not swollen or discolored. Do not trust him or his meter. read more

Absolute hustle. Avoid at all costs. They coordinated a scam- this included unnecessary damage to several parts of my home, continued pressure to get my insurance company involved, exorbitant fees for doing nothing of benefit. I eventually hired a leak detector to find what their faulty devices did not for a fraction of their charges and fixed with an outside plumber. Terrible communication. Current lawsuit pending. Beware of insurance fraud. read more

Be careful choosing this restoration company. I got quoted for $3700 to begin with to restore my water tank heater closet and another closet close by. Then they will pressure you by lowering the quote. So we agreed from $3700 down to $2500. Don't fall into this. Ask who's going to repair if they start tearing down anything cause some from their third party will come and make another quote. Ask about the humidifier they will bring over for weeks this will cost you $150 bucks a day. From two closet they supposed to restores, I decided for them to restore one closet. Week after, text them to wrapped up the job and send me the invoice and the joker wants the whole $2500 payment. I said no, upon negotiation and I ask the managers name Amin, the price came down to $1755 with complete breakdown which is kinda funny. Even the mast, small trash bag, taking down your door etc are charged in the invoice. This people who promised who will help out don't believe them. Last thing, I will vouch the other costumer who wrote a year ago regarding scamming house insurance. Dont fall into that either, I been told don't worry we will help you out to get your insurance and we can make the adjustment and change the quote. If I didn't stop them and let them continue to work I would have paying more than $10k for this people using my insurance. I don't recommend this place. It will make your life more miserable. read more

Tico seems nice in the beginning. He will tell you all the good things about helping you get a little of upgrade on renovation but it's a false hope. He's really good in marketing. Nathan and team were so easy to deal with. They came out to handle a leak in the upstairs bathroom. But thanks to being vigilant, Nathan quickly discovered a second leak around the base of the toilet. Both leaks required the removal of drywall and parts of the ceiling in the downstairs kitchen. Once this was done, it became very apparent that the leak around the toilet had resulted in mold. Nathan and team quickly sealed off the bathroom and kitchen and brought in blowers and dehumidifiers. All along, Nathan kept me updated on next steps. I highly recommend Dry Out Medics should you ever need to hire a water damage restoration firm. read more
