This is easily the best meal and best cocktails I've had on my visit to Barcelona. The establishment stocks dozens of different type of alcohol. So it's a great place to try different brands of your booze of choice. I counted over 40 bottles of gin. All cocktails are made to perfection, I had the dry gin martini and 3 custom made cocktails with gins I've never heard of before. All were spectacular. The service was top notch and the bar as well as the Speakeasy restaurant are super classy and sexy. The patrons are mature and moneyed. And the atmosphere is sexy, classy and laid back. We had oysters, croquettes, suckling pig, mushroom ravioli, and tuna sashimi all were exceptional quality dishes prepared to perfection. This meal was long, luxurious and fun, and I would gladly come back here again.

You don't get ranked the #59 best bar in the world by accident. This is your classic, old-school cocktail bar with a professional staff and chill, laid-back vibe. I've had 2 martini's in my life--both of them here. First visit I did the Vesper because...James Bond. Got the upgraded version that came with a chunk of parmesan cheese. Loved it and loved the combination. Second trip was the classic Dry Martini--with the Oxley upgrade. Colleagues all got martini's as well. The dirty martini was very good. Mescal martini was potent and powerful. The Gibson was great if you're into the little onion with your olive. Sadly, both times we've been here we were a little crunched for time with dinner reservations so we only had one round and didn't have a chance to soak up the atmosphere for more than 30-45 minutes. Want to go back when I can absorb it a little more--although 2 rounds or more at this place and doing much more for the next hour or so could be tough! #MartiniDrinkerWobble

A fantastic dry martini and caiprinha

Looking for a special treat for our last night in Barcelona I came across Dry Martini which, the website claimed, one of the best 10 bars in the world. An exaggeration I thought but how wrong I was. I booked in online. There was a minimum charge, online, of 25 euros per person. That would be no problem as we were going to have a few drinks and, to my mind, a reasonable request. On arriving, the experience started. A wonderful experience that will stay in our minds for the rest of our lives. The servers and barmen were so knowledgeable, yet not condescending. Explaining everything in a very friendly way. I was told, by a friend to only order gin martinis (I usually drink vodka martinis). I had three wonderful cocktails made with the particular gin I chose. An accompaniment of a dish of parmesan cheese shaved from a massive block was placed on the table. Delicious. My partner ordered a caiprinha cocktail and states it was the second best she had tasted (I make the best she says *smile*). We ordered tapas of wonderful croquettes and two skewers of salmon. Totally delicious. As were the four oysters that I had, served on a bed of crushed ice. My final martini was slightly different. Going against my friends wishes I ordered a vodka based martini. Asked which vodka I preferred left me in a quandry, such a choice. He asked if I would like to try Beluga gold ???? MY eyes lit up. What a good choice, that guy deserves a medal. It was exquisite. The finale, to some normal, was the doorman beckoning a taxi. A touch that we aren't used to. The whole evening was a wonderful experience. I will try their London bar at some point in time. OK, a little more expensive than most but, truly, well worth every penny spent. A big thank you to everyone for the experience.

If you google cocktail bar in Barcelona and dont find this on top, you should probably consider putting in a claim. This is as close as you get to a cocktail bar by my measurements. It feels like you are in a old fashioned library with lots of couches and arm-chairs. The service is provided by old schooled bartenders and waiters that has been in the game for a while. Occasionally the waitress show up with some treats and cookies to keep you smiling. Cocktails are great, if not greatest. You should try out their different styled mojitos or ask the bartender for a tip. Make a stop here to either start off or top off your night, i doubt you will regret it.

This is like a place out of the movies, love the ambiance, and most importantly, how the drinks are crafted. Amazing cocktails the way they should be made. Must order the original martini!!

Classic Martini & Last Word

To be honest, BCN in not cocktail-centric kinda town in a true sense...but Dry Martini IS the exception to that rule. This a gentleman's bar filled with gentlemen from the neighborhood who've probably been coming here since it opened 30+ years ago. But that's not to say it's a stuffy bar, not at all, just classic. As such you can find all the classics here including the namesake with dozens & dozens of different types of gin. If you're Vodka kinda martini drinker, this is not the bar for you. I went with a Last Word & Aviation, two classics made with care & attention to detail. And all drinks are served exquisitely on a silver platter by bartenders in white coats whose average age has to be 60+. And each round comes with a different bar snack like almonds, chips or octopus in rice. When you're tired of all the 'sex on the beach' type cocktail offerings at those hole in the walls, step into this stately gem for a decidedly different experience.

Coconut rhapsody

I felt like I was in an episode of mad men. Our group of 3 came in on a Sunday night- off the bustling streets of 2016 Barcelona we were instantly transported to a simpler time, maybe circa 1960's. The waiters and bartenders all wore tuxedos and all had just a little bit of fun "I know I'm the best bartender ever attitude"... And they are!! The waiter brought us out English menus and we ordered- I started with the coconut rhapsody cocktail- it came out with a presentation that knocks your socks off and a strong flavor almost masked by the creamy fresh coconut taste. My wife asked if they could make a drink that wasn't on the menu and he gave her a look back to say -- well than at least give us a challenge. She asked for a rum based Hawaiian type drink and she was served a beautiful looking Mai tai ish drink. Our friend ordered the classic dry martini and it just tasted like James Bond. Classy, smooth, stiff etc. We had a couple more drinks all amazing and then drunkenly stumbled outside back into reality. This is one of the best cocktail bars I have ever been to.... The next night we discovered the 2nd best cocktail bar ever right across the street-- solange. Make sure to go to both!!

We've been to several bars and no one knew how to make a dry martini in this town. Walked by this establishment on our way to apartment and the name said it all, they must have a dry martini! The bartenders take their jobs very seriously, dressed handsomely in their white jackets, stirred not shaken. Hence, you get one of the best martinis I've ever had the pleasure of putting in my mouth. I love the old school feel of this bar, everybody was dressed up. Ah, this must be the way people drank back in the day. Want cheap wine? Go to every restaurant in Barcelona. Want a really, really, well made dry martini, come here.

We got great seats at the bar. Our bartender (David, I think) was very friendly, knowledgeable, and skilled. The menu is a light-up book that has fun illustrations and useful descriptions in it, including flavors, alcohol level, and a drawing of the cocktail itself. I really like when menus show this much info. Our first round was the Subterranium and Atlantide. They were both delicious and interesting flavors. They also came with tiny bites and in interesting glassware. Our second round, the Ramses and Great Gatsby, were similarly interesting, but we liked them a bit less. David gave us some gratis truffle amaro (also delicious) on the way out. I highly recommend a stop, especially if you can sit at the bar.

I came around 5pm on a Saturday, and it only took 20 minutes to get in. The bartenders were super friendly and spoke english which was a bonus. Their menu is constantly changing, so I forget the names of the drinks we ordered, but I also ordered a regular old fashion and they nailed it. I noticed another guest being a little rude to one of the bartenders. She was complaining about her drink so they made a new one, and another one after that. Had it been me, I probably would've gave up and asked them to leave lol, but they did not. Instead the opposite, which is very telling of the type of service you'll receive at this place. Overall this was my favorite cocktail bar in Spain, would I go again? Absolutely!

Really enjoyed this bar and we can see why it's been named in the top 50 bars…read more The bartender was really engaging with the people which we enjoyed. The drinks were 8/10 The ambiance was generic but we had a good time. Definitely recommend trying it.

Wow did we want to give this place 5 stars…read more The bartenders were great and welcoming and the decor was very cool. It is a pleasant place to be physically. All of the cocktails we tried were excellent (we had two more not featured on photos here). We went Sunday 4/19 around open (5pm ish until 7:30 ish). However, our experience was sort of ruined when a female employee came over and chided my wife and two other American patrons we were talking to for being too loud. They weren't being particularly loud and at this point we were the only four people sitting at the bar itself. She was not a bartender (at that time at least) and she completely ruined our vibe with this complaint. She had been eyeing one of the other American patrons we had been talking to before she came over and confronted my wife after she laughed. The bar tenders didn't seem to be aware this happened and when we were closing out they remarked they didn't think we had been loud and that they like their guests to have fun. This female employee apparently didn't get the memo! We sense that perhaps she just dislikes Americans, which would be rich for working at an establishment like this! She also had no issues when a dog other guests brought in barked loudly multiple times, each time silencing the entire bar because the barks were so booming. The other American couple felt the same way -- the stern talking to just ruined the experience for all four of us. So... great spot but our experience was unnecessarily tarnished by a jerk employee!!!
