It's not their fault that they're nestled into the more touristy part of Barcelona--and don't let that stop you from going! Well worth the effort as you're transported into what can quickly feel like your personal neighborhood bar. Our initial bartender (no, mixologist) was a Peruvian woman named Rayza (probably spelled that wrong). Very friendly and did a great job trying to translate as much as possible into English. They change the drink menu 4 times a year and had just introduced the Summer menu a few days ago. Don't remember the exact names of the drinks we ordered but one was gin based and was Hunter/Hunting-something. The other was mezcal based with Luxardo bitters as one of the ingredients. Both were fantastic (uploading pics after the review). Well thought out and skillfully crafted by Rayza. She made a little too much of the mezcal drink so she poured it into a shot glass and presented it to me as a "refill" with a smile. Nice touch, but I told her it was for her to drink with me. As things got busier (we arrived around 10 pm and had our pick of seats at the bar), a male bartender started working our end of the bar. Sadly, we neglected to get his name but we enjoyed a great conversation as he made many creative drinks. A bar like this could be quite snobby about themselves. This one isn't. We look forward to coming back each time we visit Barcelona and highly recommend it if you can get there. read more

Recommended by a bartender at Libertine (a fellow craft cocktail bar inside Casa Bonay) and one of those suggestions that really makes an evening turn from basic to anything but. The walk to Collage was magical already but then stepping inside transported me to another realm of wonderment. It's dark, it's sexy, it's got so many potions to create a drink unlike any other. There's an upstairs lounge area that feels more like a salon of a bygone era and then there's the intimate bar downstairs where I saddled up. I was immediately taken with both male bartenders...one French, one Italian. Both spoke Spanish and English. It was as if my Weird Science mind had produced two handsome, intriguing characters purely for my entertainment! But, on to the drinks. Their cocktail menu is a beaut. There's not a ton on it, but each beverage is described in paragraph form so you know its origin story before meeting your lips to its glass. These concoctions were eclectic takes on the classics. Some were aflame, some were served alongside fun accoutrements, and some were just plain funky, but in an intriguing way. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. I had two and each one had its highs, sans any lows. The best part was sitting and chatting with the bartenders and the fact that they have a Yelp check-in offer for a free shot, which is pretty impressive to see anywhere in Europe (even though the bartender wasn't as keen on this offer as I was to use it...a mezcal shot we both did!). Not to mention, they host cocktail making classes often. If you're headed to (or in) Barcelona, I recommend scheduling one to get a behind-the-scenes look at the makings of these fine libations. read more

My favorite bar in Barcelona. The drinks were delicious. The service was quick and friendly. The space itself was small and stylish. I had two drinks there. One was the special which was called The Alcatraz and then I got some kind of old fashioned with lavender which was also great. I wanted to return but the two bottles of whiskey in my Airbnb disallowed that from happening. I can't wait to go back. read more

I LOVED this place!! It was my first night in the city and this was our first bar we chose to go to. It's very small and intimate which I love, didn't take us much to get a table but the place filled up quickly after 11:30. The cocktails are amazing!!! I can't remember the name of the cocktail I got, started with an H, hangover?? I'm not sure but I ordered three, it was that good. The bartenders were super nice and quick, the owner gave us an extra round of shots because our tab was "a nice ticket" lol. This place was lovely! Spent my last night in Barcelona there. Even though they don't have menu in English they were very friendly and nice to help you with translation and recommendation. My girlfriend and I had just arrived in Barcelona for our first time, and didn't have the exact number of our AirBnB location. Our taxi dropped us close and we needed to find WiFi to contact our host, and by pure chance and immense luck, we stumbled on Collage as the first location (which they also had WiFi). We ended up coming back 3 nights during our one week stay. Let me be very clear - this is a MUST visit when you come to Barcelona. The atmosphere, drinks, and staff are absolutely impeccable. Take some time to chat with the staff and you'll transform your experience and appreciate it much more. Collage can get busy at peak times, but the staff always work hard and don't sacrifice quality for quantity. Be patient and give a smile, you'll be glad you did and if it's busy, the gesture won't go unnoticed. My girlfriend and I ended up staying after most of the crowds left and the staff would come sit with us when possible and chat. Special shout out to Jan (and his girlfriend, who helped us contact our AirBnB host the first evening) and Julie. These two are great at remembering names & faces and are the nicest people. For example a chili and chocolate drink was much more enjoyable after a second bartender instructed me of his preferred way of drinking it. If there's a best way to drink something, it should be probably be served in a way that makes it obvious. It may be a nitpick on my part, but that's my two cents. read more

No one mentioned this as a great bar in Barcelona, likely because of it's proximity to the touristy area. However, the menu is first class and it's a little touch of the American cocktail style but with European professionalism. Extremely shady, dishonest business practices. Two things: First, they did not honor the Yelp coupon they put up ("Oh, that's old"). Sorry, but you guys are the ones who put it up there, so you can take it down as well. While that wasn't the reason I decided to show up to this place, it could very well be someone else's. I gave them the benefit of the doubt at first on this though. Perhaps they changed ownership or something. Mistakes like this do happen. What they did afterwards, however, upset me and made me think this was done maliciously as well. If you weren't already aware, a lot of credit card machines will give you an option to pay in your native currency if it's not the same as the business's currency. So for example, I'm from the US, so I had the option of paying in USD or in Euros. The problem is that paying in USD gives you an extremely unfavorable conversation rate, so you end up paying the business more than you would have if you selected Euros. This is common knowledge, and I read about this before I even left for my Europe trip. When I went up to pay with my card, the server gave me the credit card machine and I slid my card. After entering my PIN, he immediately took it away from me and I oversaw him push the USD option. He did not ask me what option I wanted, and you'd have to be naive to think he doesn't know that they get more money if they select the USD option. It was blatantly clear he was trying to not allow me to pick which option I wanted. Perhaps he was hoping I was too drunk to notice, but I only had one drink. ;-) Fortunately, there's a first time for everything, and today was the first time I was happy my credit card blocking a transaction by being overprotective about foreign transactions. With the next credit card I used, he again tried to snatch the card machine back. This time, I held it tightly in my hand and pressed the Euro option as soon as it came up. You may have robbed me of a free check-in offer, but not of a bad conversion rate! read more

Absolutely loved to atmosphere here, reminded me of a cocktail spots in Downtown Los Angeles. I had The Fizz de Maison, wasn't very strong, tasted more like cucumber water. Then I had a second drink that started with a G that had a lot of orange flavor to it, that one was delicious. Great service and lounge atmosphere. read more
