A general, routine eye exam should not take up two hours of a patient's time…read more A patient also ought not be kept waiting alone in an exam room for 30 or more minutes after having the pupil dilation drops placed in their eyes, wondering when (or if) the doc is going to return to the exam room to finish the eye examination. During my appointment, after at least a 30 minute wait, I left the exam room to speak to someone at the front desk about the excessive wait time (who stated that the doc was with another patient), and then returned to the exam room. Magically, the doc re-appeared to the exam room almost instantly. No apology. This was my experience when I went for a routine exam last month. During this experience, I was reminded how much waiting time I encountered during my previous routine eye exam here a few years prior. It causes me to wonder why, when the office does not appear to be in the least bit "busy", a patient who has health care coverage via medical assistance, is subjected to excessive wait time. Certainly other patients would have expressed complaints about excessive wait times if they had encountered them.

Dr. Snyder also carries high quality, brand name, designer frames that his friendly staff do a great job helping me choose. (I have 'made in USA', State brand). He explained alternative approaches so that I could make a knowledgeable decision. Together agreed on a plan best suited to my goals and physiology. He took pains to make sure that I understood each step of the process and that I knew how to perform aftercare to facilitate healing. He took great care to make sure that any discomfort from the procedure was as minimal as possible. I wasn't ready to invest in the skin care at that time with the hefty price tag that came with the kit system. I reached out to the place a few days ago and was told that I would need to get a second consultation in which I felt was unnecessary since I had already seen the doctor a few months ago. I voiced my opinion stating that it was pointless to have a second consultation to only be told the same information from the first consultation in which nothing in my skin had changed. Victor told me that it would be a free second consultation if I purchased the products otherwise it would be $125 just for the consultation alone. I also voiced that I would be purchasing the products but not right away as I needed to consult with the husband regarding the steep price of the OBAGI products. Victors response was very snotty and very unprofessional in which he replied back stating that the relationship was not good based on my comments and for me to take my business somewhere else. How can a place turn someone away for only speaking the truth and handled the situation so poorly? The vibe from this place from the beginning only made me feel like they only care about your money and that they were too good for everyone else! Thank you for showing your true colors because I surely wouldn't want to do business with a place who are unprofessional and don't know how to handle the slightest criticism, more so, can I say cant handle the truth! I looooooooove the glasses I got, even with them being the most expensive glasses I've ever had in my entire life. It has been well worth it, to me. We went to pick up my son's glasses today and when he tried them on he expressed that it was blurry. While I was trying to ask him some questions about what he was seeing Cathy interrupted and accused me of coaching him towards believing they were blurry. She then proceeded to tell me son he'll just have to wear them awhile to get used to the new frames, so I asked her if the frames impact how he sees through the lens? To which she replied no. I then compared his current glasses to the "new" ones and showed her how very different the lenses were. She took them in back for awhile and came back out to say they were made wrong. No apology. No acknowledgement that it's not mine or my son's fault that the lens was blurry for him. The other lady in the front was kind and offered to put a rush on the replacement, to which Cathy replied that my son didn't need a rush because he "likes his old glasses just fine." Excuse me? If he likes them just fine then why are we going through this headache for a replacement? Why are you telling him he can't have his new glasses rushed after YOU made a mistake? This isn't our first run in with having to deal with her attitude or condescending comments to our family so I can only assume she does it to others. Now we're left to wrestle with whether we abandon Dr. Dockter to find a business that treats its customers better, or stick it out and hope we can actually get the glasses my son needs without too much hassle.

From there I was put in a room with an assistant who asked me if I had had "my" flu shot! What the heck does THAT mean to the eye doctor?... and it sure seems like an offense to their precious HIPPA. At the end of my appointment I asked to have my pupil measurement and was referred to the gal behind the reception desk. I received a bill for $35 after my insurance which should have covered 100%. I thought perhaps it was for the pupil measurement, which I would have questioned. However, it was for a notation regarding "possible cataracts" which was not mentioned to me by the Dr., but was noted in my chart for "possible future documentation in case I would need surgery". WHAT? I asked that it be removed because if I needed surgery they would surely do another exam. What absolute rubbish!
