As part of the water line repair program thru St. Louis County; Shamrock Sewer & Drain LLC was…read moregiven the contract to replace the water line from the meter to my house. There was no communication between me and the contractor until after the hole was dug 29 days after I was notified by the County. I believe the photos speak for themselves. They will not be getting any repeat busy from me.

I have never received a more ridiculous bid. This company gave me a bid for $20,000 for a job that…read morewas done by another company for less than half of that price with a warranty. Shamrock's bid required tearing up concrete inside my basement bathroom and outdoor concrete sidewalk. The bid did not include fixing these things back to where they were just for the record. Meaning they would tear out the wall, the toilet, the sink, the tile, and I was responsible for getting rid of all the debris and replacing everything and putting it all back together. They basically said in the bid that they are not responsible for just about anything that happens while they are there and did not even give a quote on the length of pipe to be replaced. Meaning they could tell me anything once they opened up the ground and said oh well that wasn't included. They basically said if we damage the grinder pit that they aren't responsible for that. If the digging they do compromises the structural integrity of my deck that they aren't responsible. If their equipment gets stuck in a pipe, I am responsible to pay for the removal and repair of that. They aren't responsible for any damage caused by weather so then they can just leave everything as is and not worry about trying to mitigate anything. This contract was the biggest joke I had ever seen. It did not include a diagram of where the new pipes would go, how much of the concrete would be removed, where the new pipe would go and on and on. With a huge price tag and many disclaimers that said the price could end up being signifcantly higher than the original bid. The company I did hire fixed the pipe, did not tear up any concrete, inside or out, did not disturb the soil around my deck piers, and were done in less than a day. I had another company inspect their work and the project passed inspection. This cost less than half of Shamrocks ridiculous bid and came with a warranty. Shamrock wanted to destroy so much of my property for absolutely no reason, well, the reason was to walk away with big dollars and leave me with a nightmare.

My "three week" project to install a sink, vanity and new cabinet door turned into a three and a…read morehalf month project! I do not recommend this company. Their lack of communications is unbelievable! Messages are NEVER returned in a timely manner, sometimes never returned! They messed up my walls, which thankfully I had more product so I could fix them. They broke the trim on my door and pushed it together and left it like that, so the wood is cracked! Who does that and just leaves it? The first time they installed the doors, they put them into the door jamb, so you could not open the doors all of the way! It took four days to install a vanity, a vanity top and change two cabinet doors. I have a six car driveway, they parked on the edge of driveway and put ruts in my yard! Save yourself some heartache and frustration and stay away from this company.

Overall, we are satisfied with our master bath remodel done by KML Remodeling, but it took twice as…read morelong as it should have because of incorrect materials delivered and inadequate project management. We had to make concessions on things that were wrongly ordered and there were a few plumbing mistakes which required rework, causing the project to take twice as long as it should have. The carpentry work was exceptional, though, with attention to detail and solid workmanship, resulting in an overall successful project. But, the general supervision and communication from the project manager were dreadful and caused a very stressful experience. As other reviewers have said, messages were rarely responded to and it required me to frequently follow up just to know what was going on with the project, and who and when someone was coming. When the project manager did show up on site, which was rare, he just walked in and went straight to the subcontractor, without barely a hello to us. It's really a shame because a well done job should not be so exhausting and frustrating for the customer. As long as they use the same carpenter, I would recommend them, but I suggest making it very clear at contract signing what you expect and lay out clear rules of engagement and communication expectations. I'm updating my review rating from a 3 to a 4 because the owner, Karen, sincerely listened to our concerns and we feel that she will make the necessary adjustments so that future customers have a more pleasant experience. As previously noted, the workmanship of the main construction components are top notch and had the project manager not made the job so painful, we wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Recently we had Sean come out to trouble-shoot, and ended up with a video camera DVD of a drain line from the gutter to the street, which pinpointed our troubles. Plus some ideas for low cost fixes; all for a reasonable fee, and in good time. Very professional all the way through, from service to technology to paperwork. Here's your Pro-Tip from Sean: remember to rout out your lines before the holidays, as a matter of routine maintenance. Otherwise, when the house is suddenly full of twenty relatives - whoops! What might have been a small problem turns into a big problem at a bad time. Thanks, Sean!

So did the dust and silverfish. Our house had an at least 8 degree difference between the first and second floor in temperature. They are now equal in temperature. All of our bathroom exhaust fans and the whole house fan is hooked up properly, so it's all venting outside. Before it was just going into the attic. Becareful if you use this company or Fence St. Louis. I'm a disabled senior citizen and i needed a…read morenew privacy fence to line my alley. They use high pressure sales, bait and switch on materials, poor workmanship, nasty bully attitude, then resorts to harassment texting. He even called other companies scammers for offering a long warranty on materials and labor. This company did not complete the fence because I fired them, and hired another company to complete it. Dustin lowered the initial price and I asked to change from pressure treated pine to cedar. He charged more for the upgrade and sent me the proposal. The worker came with a helper who ended up quitting after 2 hours, so the worker was only person working on 80 foot long fence line. When some of the new post were set, only 1 bag of cement was used and some posts were not set in line. Not all the post were set before the fence was constructed, poorly. Top of the fence boards started 4 inches above the top board, 20 feet farther away they were 10 inches above the top board and the middle board was missing. The materials used was cedar tone pressure treated pine not cedar as quoted in text and proposal. I spoke with Dustin on the phone and he argued I was not watching his worker enough and I was causing problems. The next day the worker showed up with a helper and took all the boards off the fence to add the middle rail that was omitted, then Dustin texted he instructed his worker to go buy prefab panels from home depot instead of building to my specs. After texting back and forth Dustin called and cussed me out, so I fired them, wrote a check for partial work and hired another contractor to complete the fence correctly. 2 days later I saw his secretary drive by and Dustin texted minutes later to see if I had written a Google review for his deception. Which I had not. I texted I was missing some boards and the gate hardware and he insinuated that because i live in the city someone stole them. He even stated he knew for a fact his guy leveled all the posts and left all the materials when he himself never set for on my property to check the workmanship. I texted him to quit harassing me. He has now redesigned his web page to change wording and pictures and the length of his warranty.
