We ordered the beef noodle soup and pork belly over rice for takeout. It took around 40 minute for it to come out, but it was sooo good!! I've only had beef noodle soup a couple times so I don't know how it "should" taste, but this was my favorite one by far. The beef is soft and almost falling apart and the soup is very flavorful. It's tangy and tomato-y with a good amount of mala spice. The pork belly over rice was also delicious. The marinated egg!!!! It really hit the spot. I will start by saying that the Dan Dan noodles were very good. I heard the table behind me saying that their chicken was very dry, but well seasoned. However, the wait time was way too long--especially for a casual ordering joint. The one server was also the cashier, and he was doing the best he could. We were told the wait would be 20 minutes after we had paid and placed our order, but the wait ended up being closer to 45 minutes! We had plans, so we had to throw our food in to-go boxes and weren't actually able to eat after being at the restaurant for nearly an hour. When we did try our food, I'm not sure I would say it was worth $20 a bowl. It was tasty, but everything on the menu was so much more expensive than China town down the road. I follow Drunken Kitchen on Instagram, so I've been meaning to stop by one of these days and my dad wanted to grab lunch so... We ended up here! Walking in, I could immediately tell that this would be a great bar to hang out with friends. It's spacious and the menu has a lot of small bites that would be excellent for sharing with friends over a couple drinks. My dad and I ordered some stuff to share, mainly their fried chicken, Taiwanese pork belly, and three cup chicken. We were surprised when the fried chicken came out because we were expecting something more like popcorn chicken or something bite-sized, but they were full drums. The fry on them was excellent, but we weren't a huge fan of the sauce. It was super vinegary and we honestly only ate it with the chicken because the seasoning wasn't mind blowing. However, I am a huge fan of both the pork belly and three cup chicken. Both dishes were excellently prepared with a flavor that will remain in my mind for a while (my mouth is watering just thinking about it)! i feel like drunken kitchen is kinda in a weird place, but enjoyed the upstairs patio still. just funny to be looking out at the mountains and then there's all these big store signs and stuff. they bring the food out as it's ready but then it kinda felt like it was coming out in a weird order. the order we received the dishes was the marinated cucumbers, dan dan noodles, pork pot stickers, and the taiwanese fried chicken. everything was super solid, but the pork pot stickers coming out later felt weird to me for some reason. also they were a lil pink on the inside because they're so big and that kinda freaked me out a little. the marinated cucumbers were some of the best i've ever had and the dan dan noodles were homemade and delicious!! great place to go with a group of people and eat family style! read more

They moved to Grid City Beer Works and I was SO disappointed. I didn't enjoy my experience. First, it's annoying that you need to bring a physical ID when you're just getting Chinese food. After seated, we waited for a long time before the waitress came to get our orders. The Taiwanese Fried chicken was a bit dry. The sizes are not very even either. The drumstick I got was much smaller than the rest. We got the Twice Fried chicken wings as well and honestly, other than the parts of chicken and the sauce that came with it, there wasn't much difference between the two. I was especially disappointed by the twice fried chicken wings because they were not as good and crispy as when I had them in the previous location. The wings were what made me wanted to travel all the way to slc to come again, but I didn't like it much this time. I saw a lot of people working at the kitchen and not the chef/manager and idk if that's why the quality has gone down. The pan fried pork buns were supposed to be one of their signature dishes, but they didn't taste good. They were dry and the buns were very thick. The Three-Cup chicken was just alright, but definitely not worth $20 considering both the quality and quantity. The chicken needs to have a stronger taste. The rice tasted like leftover rice. It's also hard to eat using the plates they gave us. Providing bowls would make it much better. I honestly loved my experience at Drunken Kitchen before, but I won't be going back. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with hospitality and a perfect balance of bar/open floor. Grayce, the GM, was incredibly kind and accommodating. Aspen was working bar and blew us away with their cocktails and service, spending time to talk to everyone and make sure we had everything we needed. The friendliness of all the staff together and everyone waiting on you makes it feel fancier and more welcoming than a regular bar. The dan dan noodles arrived shortly after being ordered and were the best noodles I've eaten in all of Utah. The chef Tim, made time to talk with me and ask about our food. Dined at their new Grid City Beerworks location tonight and I was blown away. Fried chicken was juicy, crispy and so flavorful. There was also lots of it--6 pieces! The Dan Dan noodles were the perfect spice level at medium and the bok choy in there was a perfect combo to the juice of the pork and the spice. I also am a sucker for a generous peanut garnish. So so good. My husband got a beef noodle soup and he basically polished it off despite not having a ton of room from the chicken. Easy to make a couple of meals from leftovers or share with your friends. Get there early because the word has gotten out. It was packed. I can't forget service because our server was amazing. i really wanted to like this place but man was it disappointing. the service was great, our server was kind and knowledgeable about the menu & the wait time wasn't too bad at all. everything was unfortunately flavorless. we tried the dan dan noodle, which was the best part of the meal. the pork buns were recommended to us but they were lacking flavor and i wasn't a fan of the texture of the bun. the steamed buns at the chinatown deli are 100x better for a 1/4 of the price :/ we also got the duck salad which i thought the salad itself was alright but there were only two tiny pieces of dry duck on top which was incredibly lackluster. for the price, i expected a lot more from the food. read more

100/10 best meal of my year so far - ordered through toast tab. Pan-Fried Pork Buns - this is a very authentic pork bun, it isn't the same as something you'll get out of the freezer section of the supermarket with a sweet bread and sugar sauce. Served with house made chili. Pork Pot Stickers - legitimately bursting at the seams, juicy, fresh and amazing. Marinated Cucumbers - this is a staple fridge food at my home so I was really excited to try these and they didn't disappoint. The extra marinade made THE BEST dipping sauce for dumplings. Dan Dan Noodle +Add Broth from Taiwanese Beef Soup - okay let's talk about these noodles, I feel BLESSED to have eaten these. Personally the best meal of my year so far. I wanted to try the noodle dish wet as well and it did not disappoint. (I saved my extra broth and ate with some slim noodle today) Fried Rice + Add Pork - this is a huge serving, and thank god because it was so so good I couldn't get enough. I'll be eating this gratefully for three days! Side Pickled Serranos - just get em, save them in the extra cucumber marinade and then you have an easy spicy kick for all of the dishes. Wow! This place blew me away. For some reason I started getting ads for this place in instagram and the food looked amazing so I had to check it out. Spoiler alert: the food was amazing. We ordered the vegetarian pot stickers which were prepared in a more traditional way than most places I've been to in SLC. The Dan Dan was awesome and the beef noodle soup I ordered looked so delicious I immediately started eating and forgot to take a picture (It looks exactly like the on their website). I really wanted to love Drunken Kitchen. It's convenient, and Salt Lake City could really use more diversity in its Asian food scene. However, after visiting twice, I'm left underwhelmed. Nothing I've tried so far really stands out. The Dandan noodles were my favorite, but even those didn't win over the rest of my family. The fried chicken was decent, but beyond that, it was a letdown. The pork belly bowl was filled with unrendered, inedible white fat, with very little actual meat. The fried rice was dry, lacking flavor or any real appeal, and the three cup chicken? Nothing to write home about. To make things worse, I've been inundated with ads from Drunken Kitchen on every platform for months, and it's starting to get on my nerves. In summary, I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, it falls short of expectations. read more
