Noodlehead has quickly become one of my go-to spots. I've visited three times now and have enjoyed everything I've tried. My clear favorite is the Pho Dip Sandwich. The broth has excellent flavor with just the right touch of spice, the beef is tender, and the soft bread soaks it all up perfectly. It's messy in the best way possible. The Thai Smash Burger is also excellent -- bold, well-balanced flavors that really stand out. I've enjoyed the drunken noodles as well (great heat and savory depth), and the cucumber salad makes a refreshing side that balances the richer dishes. Location & Vibe: Noodlehead is tucked into the Millcreek development. Depending on traffic and timing, it can be either super convenient or a bit tricky. For me, it's a perfect stop on the way home from work. The service deserves special mention. Every time I've gone, the same guy has been working. He's genuinely friendly, efficient, and seems to be holding down the fort solo. You can tell he takes pride in what he's doing. Was all around not good experience. When we went up to the cashier to order we were directed to order online by the employee there. It was incredibly loud in their area because there was a bunch of pots and pans banging. When we got our order, more disappointment. They were super sweet and chewy, probably under cooked. It saddens me when a business starts strong, and then looses its quality and standards shortly after. My second experience here ensured that I will not be back. We came before the dinner rush and NO ONE else was there but us, AND It still took 30 minutes to get our food, I know the exact time because they email the receipt. Which the ordering process is horrible, scan, and order yourself, and ask zero questions. The people working weren't friendly. We even ordered appetizers and didn't get them first, our cucumbers actually came after our main meals! we had hungry boys who were very unhappy. They switched from glass/ceramic dishes to those toxic black plastic bowls, which you should NEVER use with hot foods. Pork Ramen and Khao soi are good, but a smaller portion than when we first came. We tried the pho French dip and bread was rock hard. The burger was good, but the fries cheap and horrible, not worth 15. Sad that this place has gone downhill. It had so much potential. read more

Years ago in downtown SLC another restaurant that has gone under now introduced me to the concept of a pho rench dip sandwich and I've been chasing that high since. This is the first place I've seen with that sandwich since the other restaurant and while I think I would have preferred some more fresh veggies and a little less roast beef, this sandwich was still delicious. The flavors were punchy and satisfying, service was great, and at $10 I think the sandwich was well worth it, I'll definitely be back to try the noodles! read more

We had a work lunch here today. It is inside the Millcreek city building so a bit hard to find. I got the KHAO SOI which was absolutely delicious! I added a little chili oil to it and just such a great dish. One of my coworkers got the Pho'rench dip and loved it as well. Reviews on the pork and chicken ramen were that they were just fine. When we ordered the cashier said she needed to charge us a large group service fee. We had 7 people and each ordered our own food. She said it was policy. I'm not sure why, she didn't offer us to go containers when we were done or check on us or anything. I found this charge to be frustrating which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by how good everything was. Usually if a place is considered more fusion I'm usually hesitant but everything we tried was delicious, the portions plentiful and I love the spices and seasonings available on the table. My friend ordered a few things for us to share, the pot stickers, sesame chicken, ramen and drunken noodles. You order at the counter and they bring the dishes to you. There are a few tables that's shared with the coffee shop. There's water in a container to fill your own cups. The dumplings were juicy with a thin wrapper, the drunken noodles are made with thinner noodles than traditional noodles but had a lot of flavor and smokiness to it. The sesame chicken was good but nothing really different although it would be better with some veggies and not just chicken with rice. The ramen was huge and came with a variety of ingredients like dumplings, fish cake bok choy which I loved although it was a bit on the salty side. All in all everything was flavorful and portions were good. Noodlehead is found in the space shared with Millcreek Coffee Roasters at Millcreek Common. Noodles, it has, plus plenty of other tasty dishes. If you're looking for boring chicken nuggets or pizza for the kids, you may need to move on in your search, but if you want a culinary delight, something a bit more exciting, then prepare to be wowed here. There are a variety of ramen dishes, but on a hot summer day that's not what I wanted. I opted for other items, still hot, but not soup-hot, if you know what I mean. The drunken noodles ended up on my table-even though I didn't snag a photo. Oops! It was delicious, with so many flavors and textures. I loved it. As with the finer things in life, it takes time and you'll pay for quality. I wish that they could figure out the timing of the food so everything comes out at once. We wanted to check out this new noodle spot at Millcreek Commons. It was quiet, without any customers on a Tuesday night. The servers were very pleasant and helpful, making recommendations and delivering our food to an outside table cheerfully. There are several tables inside and out and the atmosphere was clean but industrial. We tried three shareable appetizers: shishito peppers, green beans, and cucumbers. Each was presented with style and a unique and flavorful combination of flavors. The noodles came out in large bowls. Our entrees were the tofu ramen and khao soi. The later had wide noodles and was well received. The tofu ramen was good, but not addictive. I added some of the unique sauces on the table. I give the restaurant 4 stars for a unique menu, 5 stars for service, and 3 stars for food. I might eat there again if I was already at the Commons, but I'm not sure I would seek it out (especially with the current parking and construction). read more

Met up with a friend for lunch and I loved it. The vibe reminded me of a food hall and I loved how you can actually see into the cooking area. While waiting for the food, you can see how much care the chefs put into making the various dishes. I got to try a bite of the pork ramen (looked great on the various toppings) and the noodles were firm, chewy, and buttery which I really liked, but man, the pho'rench dip was fantastic. Ah, Noodle Head in Salt Lake City! If you've never heard of it, imagine if a ramen shop and a quirky hipster café had a love child. That's Noodle Head. I strolled in with the enthusiasm of a kid on Christmas morning, ready to devour their famed pork belly ramen. The atmosphere was buzzing with a mix of chatter, laughter, and the occasional slurp that could rival a walrus in a soup-eating contest. The decor screamed, "We take our noodles seriously, but not ourselves." The bowl arrived, and it was a sight to behold. The pork belly glistened with a seductive sheen, practically whispering, "Eat me, you know you want to." The noodles were perfectly nestled in a rich, savory broth that looked like it could cure any ailment from a hangover to a broken heart. First bite, and I was hooked. The pork belly was so tender it practically melted in my mouth, which, let's be honest, is the ultimate goal for any meat. It was like butter, but better because it was pork. The noodles had the perfect chew - not too soft, not too hard - Goldilocks would have approved. Now, the broth. Oh, the broth. If I could swim in it, I would. It was a harmonious blend of umami goodness with just the right amount of saltiness and depth. I'm convinced it was brewed by a wizard because it was pure magic. I had a bit of trouble finding Noodlehead which, as it turns out, is on the first floor of Millcreek's City Hall at the south end. It is a contemporary place and looks sharp with counter seating as well as cafe tables. There was one friendly fellow running the counter operation and I stepped up to order a bowl of pork ramen. I was served my food quite quickly There were lots of items in the ramen bowl; a half egg, some wontons, some seared pork belly, bamboo shoots, scallions, and noodles in a strongly flavored broth. There were so many flavors that maybe they were fighting each other a bit. I did like it, but didn't love it. But I was satisfied and will likely try it or another menu selection again as it is a convenient location near my work place. I was at Milcreek commons for an event, came here with The Girls, and we saw a noodle place and went "absolutely yes." We got some appetizers to share, cucumber salad and chicken wings. Each of us ordered a soup with intention to share. Cashier was handing out recommendations, letting us know what is best and most popular on their menu. As someone who always struggles to decide, this is a trait I admire most. Place was cute enough. It's kinda in a food hall, it's a little wild, but this is really more of a meeting place, not sit down and chat place. Our food was genuinely all over. We all agreed that the chicken wings were best. Like some of the best wings I've had. Cucumber salad was good but also a lil spicy for most of our group. The soups were all good but unexpected. The pork ramen and drunken noodles tasted heavily of barbecue and bacon? Very bizarre. Not bad. But if you eat a lot of ramen and drunken noodles, these are pretty unexpected flavors. We all agreed that our food was good just.... Maybe advertised as a traditional dish when it's not? Not disappointed. But I think if I went again, I'd have a better idea what to expect read more

Stemming from the success of the Provisions restaurant, Noodleheads offers a new take on Asian inspired cuisine. Marinated Cucumbers: $5 - This was an interesting dish that caught me off guard. I've tried many cucumber appetizers and this one was very unique with the mint garnishes and mini dabs of momofuku's chili crisps. The "cubes" were refreshing and delicious. Bang Bang Chicken Wings: $12 - The wings were deep fried and coated in a sichuan spice blend. Served with a bed of cilantro and Korean red pepper sauce. The wings itself were cooked perfectly but unfortunately the seasoning was overkill and the sodium levels were through the roof. When you thought you had enough salt, there's even more in the dipping sauce. Yikes! Recommendation for the chef to tone down on the salty seasoning, rethink the sauce choice, and also try pickled daikon/carrots with lettuce instead of piling on the cilantro. I'm okay with a little bit of cilantro but I don't see a lot of people eating it with the wings and will end up wasting it. Garnishes should enhance or compliment the dish. Little Gem Lettuce: $9 - Yum! The sesame dressing was evenly coating each romaine lettuce leaf. The combination of Parmesan cheese and little "gems" of fish roe was a pleasant surprise. I could see myself ordering this side dish multiple times. Bowl of Ramen Noodles and Broth: $5 - The simplicity of this dish is perfection. If you prefer the basic noodle and broth combination, then this is the perfect order for you. Alex Springer of the City Weekly Magazine explained the restaurant concept in the best way, "Noodlehead as a love letter to ramen bars and Asian street food culture". The food isn't 100% authentic and it's difficult to identify the origin of each item, but I love how the flavors were fused together to result in something surprising and new. First off I would NEVER have come here unless I had a BOGO code from Utah grubs. Parking is a nightmare. There's no option for just take out. You can't call ahead and order takeout. (At least I didn't see a number or website anywhere) and you have to walk through millcreek commons to get there. BUT I'm glad I did because the drunken noodles alone are with that! Also got the chicken ramen which I didn't love but it was ok. Once you've had homemade noodles in ramen you can never go back. However both entrees were only $12 and I couldn't even finish the drunken noodles! They both had the best burnt/smoked flavor. And the pastrami in the drunken noods??? Who knew? Fabulous!!! Customer service was amazing. I hope they expand to a full menu someday and have takeout ordering because this is one of the best drunken noods I've had in Utah!! First time trying noodlehead and it was great! I am a pescatarian so finding ramen I can eat has always been a struggle. I tried their Tofu ramen and it is delicious! I just want to say that I may have ordered the wrong thing because I was trying to find something that my 2- and 4-year-old kids would like. I don't recommend following my lead. Here's my review of the two items we ordered: Little Gem Lettuce: The lettuce was warm and there wasn't very much of it. I would have expected a portion of chicken and a better mix of ingredients. It was mainly warm iceberg lettuce. Orange Chicken: The taste was fine, but the portion was extremely small. I would have preferred a few more pieces of chicken and a little less rice. If I were to come back here, I would order the ramen and take advantage of the Truff Sauce they offer. read more

Had the pleasure of tasting a few, shareable dishes at Noodlehead, and it did not disappoint! I loved that the chef added a little unique, twist to each dish, helping truly reinforce the 'fusion' concept. We tried the charred shishito peppers, chicken wings, (incredible dipping sauce that leaves a little tingle on your tongue for later), chicken ramen and drunken noodles (pickled mustard seeds and pastrami slices were a lovely addition in creating a delicious, elevated version of this classic asian dish). I've tried a lot of ramens and salt lake isn't really known for their best selection. But this place offered quite a decent pork ramen, I was surprised yet pleased. It's sort of got a cafeteria vibe with a counter you can sit at, and you can watch them cook. Unfortunately I asked for no fish cake in my ramen (I'm a little allergic) and they still included it, but for how good the ramen was, I didn't complain. Someone else might though, so workers should be on top of that. Other than that, service was kind. read more
