    Spicy Chicken Gizzards (4 stars)

Spicy fried tofu - super crispy with a delicious sauce Chicken gizzards - if you like gizzards, this one is pretty good Hot & spicy with sweet potato noodles (glass noodles) and pork intestine - this has the numbing peppercorns in it. My wife liked this one more of the two broths Spicy & sour with shaved noodles (thick noodles) and ribs - I enjoyed the flavor of this much more. And the shaved noodles were perfect in it. The ribs were cooked with a delicious flavor as well. None of the broths were very spicy. You can add the chili oil they have on the table, but still not all too hot.

I wish the ramen was a little more flavorful and maybe had a few more toppings. My husband didn't love how much egg was in the udon, but I liked it and that's more to do with his taste than the quality of the dish. I definitely would want to come back and try some other dishes, overall it was a good meal. I really liked the peach milkshake, it was not blended very smooth like you might expect from a milkshake, there were some pretty big chunks of ice, but I didn't mind that and I thought it tasted yummy!

So happy i stopped by here after years of driving by! It's nestled by the anderson foothill library and has a private lot you can park in. The seating inside is a little cramped but luckily there were only two other parties there while we were. I will say i saw a lot of people stop in for pickup orders. The popcorn chicken was a slam dunk with tasty seasonings and perfectly proportioned pieces that were crunchy and flavorful. We both got the hot and spicy with beef, one with ramen and one with udon. The udon was chewy and perfect! I loved all the zucchini and carrots in my dish. The other dish, although it had the same base, did not have the same veggies but did have plenty of cabbage in it. The soups were not super spicy but temperature wise they are pretty hot so it took a few minutes to really enjoy it without burning my tongue. Overall i was really impressed and will be coming back!

Hot and spicy noodle with pork intestine

I have been to SASA's kitchen a few times over the years, and am generally happy with the food. The service have been fast and friendly, and the food came out pretty timely. The hot and spicy noodle was very tasty and the toppings were plentiful. The sweet potato noodles I had was cooked just right. My only complaint was that the pork intestine was a little overly salted (it was marinated and cooked prior to adding to the noodle). The lamb skewer was disappointing. First of all, it was not in skewer form. Secondly, it was clearly deep fried rather than grilled, which lamb skewer usually implied grilled lamb. And lastly, it was small and over cooked so it was very dry and chewy. But the seasoning mix was on point. I did not want to give it lower than 4 star because I had some pleasant experience here in the past, and definitely will come back. But I will try other appetizer and meat option for noddle next time.

Food is amazing, service is awesome! The sour and spicy beef noodle is 9 out 10 and I'll definitely come back and try other dishes!

Super cute little place! I would say the stir fry noodles look unassuming but are DELICIOUS. And have to recommend the bread with condensed milk for dessert. The owners are friendly and recognize frequent customers.

Visiting SLC from Cali and was really craving Chinese food. Because we are spoiled with diverse ethnic foods back home, we weren't expecting too much out of this place but wanted to try it anyway. I recommend the dry tossed noodles with shaved noodles and lamb. Reading the other reviews, people were raving about the milk tea here. The milk tea is good, but the boba balls are really hard! Actually, all the boba places I tried in SLC were hard, unfortunately. We also tried the Brown Sugar Milk tea, which was a good level of sweet! Both drinks came with popping boba, which we did not expect but tasted a lot better than the regular boba balls. The interior is really cute, and the service was fast. Still glad we decided to give SASA a try!

For starters, we ordered the Wor Wonton Soup. The broth was rich and hearty. The shrimps were large and plentiful. All the vegetables blended in with the flavors. I just wish the beef was a little more tender. A little marinade in baking soda would fix this. We ordered some chicken lettuce wraps. This has minced chicken, celery, bamboo shoots, and carrots. These are good by themselves but are best with hoisin sauce. I just wish the lettuce leaves were bigger. The Honey Walnut Shrimp was also good. The sauce had a nice blend of mayo, honey and lemon. It had a little too much breading for me but still tasted good. For $16.99, I wished there was a bit more shrimp. One thing I really appreciate - they GLAZE the walnuts! This is one of the few places that I actually like the sauce and they glaze the walnuts! The Crispy Beef is definitely my favorite. In fact, I think this is better than the one I get from Red Maple. It was not too sweet and had just the right amount of heat. Again, I really wish they would marinate the beef in baking soda to soften it up. The last dish we ordered was the Garlic Chicken. The server forgot to put the order in for this dish and there was a rush to get it out to us. They forgot to put garlic in this dish so wee sent it back. It was perfect when it came back. This place is fast becoming our go-to-place for Chinese Food. It's was a nice surprise and I'll can't wait to try the other dishes!

This tastes like mom's kitchen if mom had a high flamed gas stove. The dishes that benefited from that smoky hot wok flavor had it. I was so excited to eat I forgot to take pics of all the dishes at the table. Green beans with garlic was so tasty, I finished the leftovers the same night, I remembered to take a photo in the takeout container. The cauliflower (I don't know the actual name but it's stir fried, spicy and comes with peppers) had wok hei and I couldn't stop eating it. Beef rolls is the sophisticated auntie of the scallion pancake. Think of it like an asian burrito with thin sliced beef, fresh scallion and cilantro, and a touch of hoisin all hugged together with a crispy tasty scallion pancake. The shredded potato tastes like the best potato salad that isn't your picnic potato salad. The shredded potatoes were quickly blanched then stir fried preserving the crunch and crispness similar to al dente pasta. Seasoning was on point. The homiest flavor came from the stewed short rib. The rib pieces were braised in a soy and star anise sauce like what you find in Taiwanese beef noodle soup. The peels potatoes were cut rustically and just cooked through and not mushy. Authentic flavors and freshness like this is so so hard to come by. I can taste the quality of the ingredients used. One tip I have for selecting authentic food is by looking at the customers. If the customers are all Asian eating at an Asian restaurant, you know the food is going to be good. Service was 10/10, waitress was super polite and stopped by to chat with us about the food and SLC. I am from out of town but I grew up eating at NYC Asian restaurants and this is as good as if not better. If you happen to stop by the largest Costco in the world, make a pit stop here to refuel after all those steps.

The look of the restaurant inside has changed a few times. when I was there last there was a casual seating area at the back of the restaurant. There were people there waiting for takeout orders. I really enjoyed the great chow mein with the beef. Next time I might try it with chicken or pork because the beef was a little hard to chew for my liking. The noodles tasted delicious and flavorful. I always have to order the cold cucumber salad. It is a great accompaniment to any dish. I added the peanuts to the cucumbers because I really like them together so if you order the cucumbers, they will not come with peanuts. It is a strange request, but they accommodated me with no problem. They had a case at the front of the restaurant with grapes and strawberries, skewered and coated in a crunchy sugary coating. It was a little bit messy, but I did not mind because it tasted so good. The strawberries were super sweet, fresh and juicy with a thin, sweet crunchy shell. I will try the grapes next time. Conveniently, we are in town for a couple days and our hotel is just right down the road. It was only right to mark this joint off my SLC food list. We came in around 5 and it was empty. My MIL and I picked a booth by the windows. I enjoy seeing the buzz of this city. It's was chaotic outside but so chill inside. It was nice to have the joint to ourselves. Jay served us tonight. He dropped off a couple menus and got some waters started for us. It was my MIL's first time trying Vietnamese cuisine. It took her a minute to breeze over the menu. As much as I wanted everything, I started off with a cup of the hot and sour soup. For dinner I got the black bean shrimp with veggies. My MIL decided on the bun thit nuong with cha gio. Last minute my MIL decided on some hot and sour soup too. They were dropped off first and it was perfect for hot soup on this cold winter day. The broth was thick and flavorful. It had hearty pieces of tofu, water chestnuts and bamboo shoots. The soup had a good heat to it. The heat didn't hit you right away, it gradually got spicier the more you ate it. My mouth was burning towards the end of my bowl. It was good but it could have been a bit more sour. My plate of black bean shrimp and veggies came out hot! The veggies looked fresh and colorful. The shrimp were plump. And the sauce smelled flavorful and salty from the fermented black bean. You can tell my dish just came out fresh from the wok. The veggies and shrimp were so hot! The shrimp were perfectly cooked. The zucchini, green peppers and bamboo shoots were my favorite. All the veggies were covered in sauce, probably the best way to eat your veggies. I ate the whole plate! I'm not the biggest fan of water chestnuts and I even polished those off. My dish was fantastic. Jay did a great job serving us tonight. He was patient and attentive. He checked up on us several times even though he was so busy with to go orders. The location of this joint was so convenient. Even though it was freezing out, it was cool to walk to dinner. But it's also got to know they have parking available for their guests. Jay did a great job taking care of us tonight. And the food was spot on. I still have quite a few places I need to hit up when I'm in SLC but if we stay in the area again, I will have to hit up Red Lotus again. It was hands down a great meal and experience.
