She remembered our drink orders from weeks ago and our food orders. I haven't seen such great service in a really long time. When it comes to the food I must say the TENDERS, FRIES, PICKLES, MEATBALLS, and PHILLY...were great! The only food item that we tried that we didn't really like was the fried catfish bites/pieces. I am not sure if it was really catfish or some other fish and the pieces are so thin that it was mostly beading. While Nicole IS always AMAZING! Not everyone else at this place is as attentive or friendly. So calibrate your expectations. Some of the servers and rude and very dismissive. While in town for work, I ended up visiting Drunken Donkey a few times, and it quickly became a favorite spot. The drinks are reasonably priced, and they have an impressive selection of local draft beers--something that many other places in the area seem to lack. I only ordered the Bacon Thingys each time I was there, as I was just looking for some protein, but they were excellent every time. The staff was always really attentive, making the experience even better. What I particularly appreciated was the laid-back, dive bar vibe. I could put on my headphones, sit at the bar, and get some work done without any hassle. It was the perfect balance of a casual atmosphere with great service. Where there is beer, I'll be near! Always on a beer trek, I found this place whilst out and about shopping one day. This was the nearest brewery that night. Gosh, only giving it 3 stars as the food was 10/10 and I'm picky on a Philly.. the chef does not match the rest of the place. We're always down for a new dive bar but this place is a no. Staff was fine, our server was nice enough. They desperately need a remodel (or at least new chair coverings) and they good use a solid drink menu as they'd likely sell more cocktails. I last visited this place during their brief name change. Unfortunately, the service was not as remarkable as that visit. Although I was sitting at the bar tended by three employees, the service was still slow. One bartender somehow failed to see that I wanted the check yet serviced the woman standing behind me. Fortunately, another employee clearly saw that I was ready to leave. The fish & chips were okay. The two pieces of fish were large and tender, but I was very thankful for the tartar sauce. Chips were interesting as they had spices applied to them because they had an interesting taste In addition to being crunchy. As for the drink, I enjoyed the Sam Adams Oktoberfest (#46). Drunken Donkey came in clutch after hours of driving around to find a seat on New Years Day. Everywhere we went was crowded due to college football bowl games. Low-key, ducked off " in the cuts" as the young people say, this little restaurant-bar had a full bar and medium size menu of wings, fries, burgers, entrees, and any other food typically found at a bar. A nice sports bar and grill to enjoy ti get out with friends. Has full bar but ran out of Michelob beer and Miller beer before midnight. Also had limited amount of pineapple juice and Cranberry juice for alcohol. Has a huge variety of beers to enjoy but no cocktail list to choose from. The BLT sandwich and fish tacos were good as well as the fries. Not enough green beans served as a side. You have indoor and outdoor seating with tvs to watch. My server, Vee, was very nice, detailed and efficient in serving us. She made me feel very welcome and was very attentive to our needs. She highly suggested the bacon thingies for an appetizer. I miss the Drunken Donkey in Keller, so when I have an occasion to be near The Colony location, I try to make time to visit. This visit was a weekday afternoon, so not the same buzz as my prior visits, but the bar was still pretty full. My son and I recalled that the boneless wings were large chicken tenders, so we split 12, and got 1/2 Chipotle BBQ and 1/2 Donkey Gold (Mustard-based). As always, the chicken is meaty and tender and the breading is lightly crunchy and the sauces really flavorful! They will also toss the fries in any sauce you choose, so I got my order tossed in Sweet Red Chili. All told, this is my favorite place for wings in the Metro! The service was very good and there are plenty of TV screens to watch your sporting event of choice. If you haven't been, be sure to give the Drunken Donkey a try! read more

First off.. Service is amazing! Super nice and helpful and fast! But food... man it sucks... Its like when you are in 5th grade and you go to a camp and get the cafeteria food. I came here to give it a try because they had a deal going on where if you buy a drink, ur meal would be 1 dollar. Pretty great deal but once u get ur food man.. Bbq chicken was tough like jerky.. mac and cheese was pasta in nacho cheese... Chicken fried steak.. tough bland and soggy chicken steak.. Soggy and thick breaded fish and chips.. fries looked like it was so old... Looking at the prices, i would NOT pay 14 to 15 bucks for this tbh.. 1 dollar sure but even then it was bad.. Not sure if the owner saw my other review but I'm posting this on here to make sure the owner knows how poorly I was treated. I came here for a job interview back last month and when I walked in the staff treated me like I was invisible and nonexistent. They didn't greet me or anything, they were all just sitting at a table gossiping and stared at me weird. On top of that, the manager who interviewed me ghosted me when he said he would get back to me. I've had food here before in the past and really wanted to work here because of the food and drinks but the management and staff treated me so poorly I've never been treated worse by a restaurant staff. The African American woman (I guess assistant manager?) was very snarky, rude and didn't seem like she liked her job. I'm really disappointed in this place and the disrespectful, unprofessional staff. read more

I am unsure where to start. I have frequented this bar several times, both alone and with companions. The quality of service provided by the bartenders is inconsistent. On some occasions, I have received excellent service while sitting at the bar. However, there have been times when the service was slow due to the bartender's preference for chatting with regulars. While this is understandable, it is important to be attentive to all paying customers to avoid any dissatisfaction. Small little dive bar right off of the tollway in The Colony next to top golf. Inside has a little mezzanine which is cool and searing under it which is pretty cool. A lot of tvs inside and a few outside on the patio. This place has plenty of beers to choose from with a large variety of drafts and bottle/cans. Not a large place but plenty of room for you to sit. Outside has a pergola right in the parking lot with vinyl on the sides and heaters for cold days. Not a bad spot for college football with a local following coming here on the weekends. The pub grub was not bad with plenty of options to choose from. There were some families with kids out and about so it seems may be semi family friendly. Service seemed to be a bit slow. I ordered one beer,... got something other than ordered but I love beer so wasn't a big deal. Now,... the one thing that did kinda of suck was that we couldnt get the Alabama v LSU game on tv because they couldnt find the channel. Looked for the manager no dice. We had a 20% off food coupon because we checked in on yelp, but ran into issues using it. Had to find a manager. ‍ This place started at 4 stars, then went to a 3 stars,.... finished at 2! Had to sit on the patio for about 16 minutes before the multiple servers walking by noticed or thought to say hello and ask if we've been helped. Other than that (which customer service is the most important to me) everything was fine. Great food! The ahi tuna was delicious along with the shrimp tacos. Multiple times ordered wings all flats with extra sauce, was charged for it but it is not all flats and no extra sauce. We came here about a year ago, literally in the middle of our move to this area. At the time I was pretty impressed. Amazing beer selection, cool vibe, close to home... This was only my 2nd visit... I had a burger the first visit, and I remember it being very good. This is a small chain. They also have one in Lewisville (fairly nearby) as well as Denton... and I think that's it. This location had a fairly small patio that's covered and draped during cooler weather. Inside is smoke- and vape-free. Overall, pretty clean and sleek bar. Certainly not a dive, but not corporate sterile either. All female waitstaff. Same general summary: amazing beer selection (120+ on tap), cool vibe (including a loft with couches), tons of TVs (sort of a sports bar in that way but not 100%), and good food. Only spotty thing was service. Even though it wasn't super crowded, service was slow at times. My first beer in particular took a long time to arrive, while I drooled over all my colleagues' brews after a long day and even longer week. When my beer did finally arrive, it was delicious. And beer #2 came faster and was also delicious. All in all, I dig this place. And service was friendly even if it wasn't perfect. I hope to add that 5th star at some point, because this place has a lot going for it. read more

A full five stars.... and this is one I've been coming to for a few years now so I can say even from the drunken donkey... to the Dallas craft room... now back to the drunken donkey... I've consistently had good service, great food, pleasant visits and convenience of a great place to hang out for football watching. They have indoor seating, an upstairs and outside patio seating... tons of options and TVs line every wall which is great. Their menu is neat to just read through as they "infuse" different alcohols into the dishes...to read how theyve incorporated them in is kind of cool... IMO ha. Doesnt stop there because the food is great too... on top of having a ton of beers the food is done very well. I've added some pictures of their philly cheesesteak, bbq chicken and grilled green beans, French toast breakfast, and ridiculously good pound of bacon BLT.... Let me not stop there because the service yall... a bit undecided on a beer and my so so so friendly server BRIDJET went and got me samples of a bunch to try. Couple weeks later we are not even in her seating area and she notices us and stops by to say hi I mean come on... she is so nice and goes well out of her way to make sure our visit is awesome!! Great service brings people back and yall need to go and ask for her area you wont be sorry. And you need to go and try their super creative menu! They're are on social media and do great specials daily as well. I do believe they are now back to the drunken donkey.... either way they are well worth the visit!! read more

We found this place just by searching for local restaurants on Google Maps. We have been trying to support local businesses during the pandemic and I am so glad we found this place! We did curbside and even after transporting the food home, it was still hot and fresh when we got there. My husband and I had the fish and chips which included two very large pieces of fish (perfectly battered and crisp) and a good sized serving of fries. Their fries appear to be slightly battered so they were crispy on the outside but still soft on the inside. Our son ordered the grilled chicken and got a huge piece of chicken and mashed potatoes. Too often, grilled chicken at restaurants is dry but this was still juicy and flavorful. We will definitely be ordering from here again and my husband can't wait for things to get back to normal so he can try out some of the beers they offer. read more

We come here often. I am a little embarrassed by how much we have been here, honestly. I promise I'm not an alcoholic. We like this place because it's close, has a ton of tvs, a ton of beers on tap, and great food. Not great food "for a bar", but great food as a restaurant. I love the beer menu because they aren't the "we have 50 beers but they're in bottles" type of place. They actually serve them as drafts, and most of the craft beers are $5-7. Call me a Dallas girl, but that's pretty cheap. They could serve them colder, but beggars can't be choosers. We have ordered the queso, the nachos, a hamburger, chicken fingers, fried jalapenos, etc. Everything has been good. They have a wide array of food, and it's not just limited to your typical bar food. They have what you'd expect from an american food restaurant with a twist. Not quite gastropub since the twist is not insane, and the serving sizes are pretty large. Give it a shot if you're in the area. They have a patio, (it does overlook the parking lot and allow smoking) but it has TVs and is completely covered and blocked by screens. read more
