Everyone who wasn't us had no water to close their camper the next day. This place is basically a dump. It was a decent camp when we came, but in 3 years we were here it became trash. There is no upkeep and Tessa is literally the worst manager ever. She's not friendly and would rather be on her phone or watching TV.

The administrative processes are not travel friendly and this operates as primarily a seasonal campground. - Showed up to registration at approximately 1815 hrs and the office was locked up. We were charged for the night, so we completed a virtual check in. - We received check in emails TWO HOURS after we pulled onto our site. We were supposed to print something out (yeah, let me plug my printer in... ) to show that we were "supposed" to be there. - NEVER saw an employee. The cost for the lack of maintenance was not worth it: - Bathrooms are not centrally located. - We had to hook up to the water: the water on the campsite smelled like sulphur (rotten eggs) - do they operate a public water supply that is not required to be treated? We used bottled water and didn't shower. - There was improper drainage: a culvert and ditch adjacent to the campsite was full of standing water, breeding nice lovely bugs. - The site was once a tent site. Pulled off the road and was four feet off the main camp road. - The tow vehicle was two feet from a massive boulder, which was supposed to be a pull through site. - Pulling offsite was a sketchy business because so many other campsites have additional buildings, dodads, etc., which encroach on the teeny gravel roads. - Buildings (cottages?) looked run down and unkempt. Courtesy: - Golf carts and vehicles alike travel the road late at night; most vehicles are well above the posted 10 mph speed limit. - Most campsite drivers have no interest in getting "stuck" behind someone towing; they will gladly speed up to get ahead of you, even if it means cutting you off. - Other campers were not all that friendly - we walked the route we were going to use to pull off and everyone just stared. It's the most bizarre camping experience I have ever had. This was not a favorable experience for us.

My biggest thing in any campground is the cleanliness of the bathroom, and these are spotless. Special shout out to Cory Miller, an employee there for helping us out of a bind with our water system. Saved the day!!

The bathrooms were fine, and the showers included in the price. Having paper towels in there is helpful, and the dish washing sink is better than many. Nothing fancy, but it has hot water, a counter and roof. No issues with late check-in, and the tent sites seem pretty well shaded. Also, the tent pads were good, plenty large enough and made of sand. Some of the sites seemed a little close, but they tried to keep a little vegetation between them.

I was so busy having fun and doing activities I forgot to drink water and my pee became very yellow. Best campground in the area.

I would like to rant about the immaculate, air conditioned bath house...just lovely! Nice and clean and well maintained. The best bath house we have seen on our road trip. There's a cool creek next to the campground. They have a really nice playground for the children and a large seating area next to it. All lit up at night with beautiful string lights. Mini golf spot, arcade games room, nice pool, cabins to rent and let's talk about their camping store...it had everything you could possibly want in there! And I'm not joking! From camping stuff to little swimmers for toddlers and Gettysburg merch. Just everything! BONUS - they have an ice cream parlor! Ahhhh! Good selection of flavours with your choice of a waffle/sugar cone or cup. Deeeelightful! Staff are so friendly and John (I think that's his name) is hilarious! We felt so welcomed. Thank you. Overall, this is a campground that has everything you need. If I could give this place a ten, I would. We'll be back next year.

Our kids had a blast doing the gem mining, which was a fun bonus after a day of sightseeing. The location is hard to beat if you're visiting Washington, DC. It made getting into the city each day easy and convenient. We didn't get to enjoy many of the campground's amenities because we spent most of our time exploring DC, but based on everything we experienced, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. My youngest really enjoyed the tractor ride!! Highly recommend!

My children along with several other children were checking…read moreout the monument in the wooded area and a worker and his child started yelling at them to get out, cussing at them, calling them bean heads (whatever the hell that is) instead of kindly telling them they needed to have a parent with them. My children are 14, 13 and 12. No child should be treated this way. If a an adult is needed then something should be posted stating this. Then they came to my site and completely ruined my family's holiday weekend by threatening to fight my husband and my children, then by calling the police and making us leave. How is it fair for an employee to act this way and get away with it. My checkout date isn't until May 27th. I have video footage of the entire thing and I will be taking my videos to a lawyer on Tuesday. They aren't getting away with what they did to my family today.

If you haven't done a horseback tour this is the place to go. They are awesome and have very well cared for and beautiful horses. Our guide, Mr Less, was very knowledgeable and fun to listen to. If I could change anything, the rear trail guide was a little dramatic and was not happy with Levi the horse. Each time she yelled out, I would get lost in the story and would loose at least 5 minutes trying to catch up. May have just been she was having an off day, so I think only fair to rate how I felt overall about the ride.
