The Blue Flame is a Nailsea institution. Whereas some pubs seek to turn their establishment into a…read moresleek contemporary lounge / bar, the Blue Flame cracks open barrels of rough cider, throws some stuffed badgers in the door way, and invites all farmers nationwide to take part in a bit of bridge. It's bloody brilliant. The pints are always straight from the barrel and absolutely fantastic, and the locals are always a great laugh. The decor of the place resembles a blokes house that he converted into a pub, which might sound off putting, but it emits such an incredible charm that you cant help but fall in love with the place. There's a huge outside seating area which is essentially half a football pitch thats well kept and great for children. The location is slap bang in the country, with little but cows and horses for miles around. It's a great bike ride in the day to get to, and certainly a taxi ride at night (no buses in these parts my laaaad!) This is a unique pub, and very special. If you fancy treating your mates to a great night out, then you wont be disappointed mingling with the locals and getting a bit of hops in you.

It's on the edge of town essentially in a country lane surrounded by fields. There's a decent beer garden for when the weather permits. There is always a good selection of cask ales and ciders plus a few standard lagers. It's worth the effort to get out here.

This pub/resteraunt advertises itself mostley to people going to and from the airport. I can imagine that if you want a quick hit of all that is great about England before you jet of somewhere, of if while away on another sunny shore you have dreamt of that first roast dinner upon your return to England then this is certainly one of the best places to come. A beautiful building with wonderful customer service and fantastic freshley cooked local food. Places like this don't need to advertise as word of mouth pretty much does it all for them, and all I hear is good things, which is why I paid them a visit, and they certainly did not dissapoint.

Due to this location and coupled with the fact that it serves a full menu throughout the day, the George & Dragon is ideally situated for the departing or arriving traveller, and indeed is largely filled with that most unusual of clientelle. The food here is pretty good and all meals are freshly cooked to order. Knowing it's punters are usually people waiting for a plane, the restaurant is open all day so those awkward departure or delayed arrivals are not a problem, as you can arrange your meal around your itinerary. The pub does have it's fair share of regualrs from the village though, and as a result has a decent selection of ales, lagers and beers on tap. Not really worth a special trip, but definitely one to look our for if your near the airport.
