It went through a big refurb a few years back and the interior is homely and comfy. The food is generally of a good standard, however I have had the odd disappointing dish. My recommendation is to go for the specials as they are always good! It's not the cheapest but that is normally reflected in the quality. The service can also be a little slow during busy periods.

I couldn't find the toilets for a while as the door was open for staff to go in and out so I couldn't see the sign which resulted in me walking all the way around the pub looking in random rooms. I ordered the mushroom stroganoff and hubby had the beef burger. The wait wasn't long and the waitress was lovely. The meals were very large but unfortunately, the chips were undercooked and my stroganoff was quite bland (though lovely once I seasoned it myself). The customer service was slightly odd and gave us an unwelcome feeling that's the second reason for the two star rating. I think the food was just OK and would go back if someone else was having something there, but I don't think we would choose to go back on our own again.
