They have a mouse pad. So it is a visitor center with lots of advice but they have lots of Pittsburgh stuff for sale. I am still trying to figure out a place for those beautiful prints. Although some also say it is from the strip mills that were once in the area. Regardless of how it got its name, it is a wonderful place that anyone spending time in Pittsburgh should visit! There are restaurants of every variety. Polish, Vietnamese, seafood, Italian and the original Primanti Brothers location! There is a winery, butcher shop, places to buy kitchen items, a spice store, tons of Pittsburgh themed sports and souvenir shops. Candy stores, Pittsburgh popcorn. Maybe the most known entity is Wholey's Market with their amazing selection of fresh seafood. The strip is always busy during the day, especially on Saturday and Sunday. It is a little less crazy in the evenings because a lot of the retail stores are only open until 5, but there are still plenty of great spots to grab a bite. It is easily walkable and there are a wide variety of parking options (a municipal garage near one end, surface lots, metered spots and some businesses (like Wholey's) have their own lots. What is great is that anyone can enjoy the Strip District. You can enjoy time with your family, wander on your own, have a girls day our or have a date day. So many fun things to choose from. The gift shop is great. There are lots of Wheeling- and West Virginia-related items to purchase. I was looking for some kind of Mothman something-or-other, and I found a few cool cryptid knickknacks. I've said it before and I'll say it again: West Virginians love their cryptids and myths, and I love it. The gift shop also had lots of clothing, soaps, durable edible goods, art and other things. There's a restaurant inside the Wheeling Artisan Center, but it looked closed when we visited. Upstairs, there's a gallery with historic Wheeling items on display. You can learn about things that were made or originated in Wheeling, like Bayer aspirin, Mail Pouch Tobacco signs, and even a type of cigar. It's fun to peruse while you're in the area, and it's also free to visit.

As someone who loves to travel, I love picking up random items from my travels, little things here and there, but you know most of it tends to be cheaply made stuff that really isn't anything you want to display- mostly stuff you put in a box, but the things sold at Love, Pittsburgh really are works of art. You can get literally pieces of Pittsburgh art, essentially everything sold there is from local artists which makes it even better. Candles, cool postcards, notebooks, coasters, so many cool items, all with a great flare to it that's truly unique to Pittsburgh and again, they're good quality and the prices aren't sky high. The staff there is AMAZING. Super friendly. Super helpful. So nice. Really helpful. Just really makes you really what a great place Pittsburgh is. They also carry suede and leather jackets, coonskin caps, Indian jewelry, pottery, carved gift boxes as well as some budget food. The boots are quality with famous names associated with them. Feel free to try them on before you purchase. The store is basically what you make of it. I was looking for Native American dolls and having found a few noticed that they were not authentic. Some boots are better suited for work, some more fashionable, but they're all high quality with a good range of price points. The pairs I was eyeing ranged from $143 to $260, but they did have pairs for upwards of $400. The store was clean, well stocked, and well organized with friendly and helpful staff. I had no trouble finding my size for most of the boots I tried on. The shop offers lots of other items besides boots including suede fringe jackets, furs, leather, hats, sandals, jewelry, candles (Smell These Nuts - it smells amazing), weather treatments for the boots, lollipops with worms and scorpions in them, as well as nick knacks and souvenirs. I ended up leaving with a beautiful pair of boots from the Corral company and a pair of silver earrings with coral and turquoise. I didn't get a chance to weatherproof them before my darling boyfriend decided to drag me through the bottom of the hill on headliner night at Jamboree in the Hills. Ahem.
