love, Pittsburgh has come to the Strip! I already loved this local gift shop and its multiple other locations, so the opening of their third storefront is pretty exciting. They're a perfect addition to the Strip District, AKA one of the best markets and collections of businesses in Pittsburgh.
love, Pittsburgh specifically curates and sells items made by Pittsburgh-based artists and makers. Art, jewelry, clothing, food, stationery - these things and more are available through love, Pittsburgh. And their storefronts support 100+ Pittsburgh-based artists; that's a lot of folks who might not necessarily run their own individual stores, but who can now reach additional shoppers more consistently (i.e. they're not waiting for Pittsburgh's different handmade markets to take place).
This location is well laid out and brightly lit, much like the sister stores in Mt. Washington and downtown. Also like the sister stores, items are generally grouped together based on the type of art, gift, etc. being sold - so the stickers are together on one table, the food items are together on a different shelf, that sort of thing. It makes it very easy to browse as well as to find something you're specifically looking for. It feels as if this particular love, Pittsburgh has a little more space to utilize than its counterparts as well.
Fun fact - according to a recent interview love, Pittsburgh has plans to "join forces" with their neighbor (Parma Sausage) in the future. I don't know exactly what that means but it sure does sound exciting! This is certainly the perfect location to experiment with partnerships and products that might not travel as well to their sister stores.
To summarize my thoughts in a single sentence: Definitely keep this spot in mind when planning your future Strip District trips! read more
