We were on the hunt for a new hall table of sorts. Having just remodeled our kitchen we wanted to…read moreupdate the hall adjacent to it. We did a little online searching and came across a perfectly sized blue table with grey drawers sold here at Kirkland's. Having never been here, I wasn't very clear on where to go. We wondered around the store looking for this table when low and behold we look up at some point to see it displayed high up on a platform. I guess this creates more floor room but not super convenient to get to. We get an associate and express the interest in purchasing it. We are then told it's on clearance and is the last one available. I asked if there was anything wrong with it, and was told no, so SOLD. Now we have to wait for someone to get it off the wall. This proved pretty challenging oddly enough. So this store reminds me of a cheaper version of Pier One. Lots of cute home décor items, some small furniture and other various items. They have some cute stuff so if you're at the mall in Monroeville it's worth a stop.

One delivery was a stunning long stem rose bouquet. My husband told them that I liked purple, so along with the beautiful roses and baby's breath were some purple accents and a gorgeous purple bow. The roses smelled fantastic and lasted well over a week. The second were flower bouquets that I received after a performance. Those bouquets were full of color and seasonal accents and lasted almost two weeks. A visit to the shop is also a delight. There is a great variety of gifts and floral items in a range of prices. If you are looking to send someone flowers or are searching for a unique gift, I recommend a call or visit to Buttercup.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the arrangements I have received and about the service from the staff! You know that sometimes ordering flowers from a florist that you have never done business with before and are not sure of the quality of their work can be daunting. Berries and Birch really took that apprehension away for my mom and she told me that each of her experiences working with the staff have been great. I'll have to add a photo of my most recent arrangement received from mom. It really was beautiful and lasted about 3 weeks (I'm terrible about caring for floral arrangements). I highly recommend Berries and Birch for any of your floral needs!

The museum pays homage to one of the best campy, horror films ever to exist (Dawn of the Dead). Pittsburgh locals George Romero (rip) & Tom Savini (he was my neighbor in Bloomfield! We lived just down the block from him) are responsible for this timeless zombie masterpiece which was filmed just outside of Pittsburgh in Monroeville. The movie was shot at the Monroeville Mall where the museum is now located. There is memorabilia from the movie including props. In addition, there are exhibits from other work by Romero & Savini such as Creepshow. There are themed rooms and of course a gift shop. This is a must-visit for any zombie fan, Savini and Romero fan, and horror fan. Pittsburgh Proud! Knowledgeable and friendly staff! Proper fans. Note: Romero's daughter, Tina is following in her dad's footsteps making zombie flicks of her own.
