DropSmashFix Santa Barbara - After living in Santa Barbara for 6 years (almost 7) I have had many broken phone screens and not once have I opted for repair. In December my iPhone 6s plus fell out of my pocket during a Magic Mountain roller coaster ride. I have been living with the broken screen and contemplating my plan of action since, comparing prices among repair shops around town and even considering replacing the phone altogether. Up until a few days ago my phone screen my phone screen was broken, but for the most part fully operational. When it finally pooped out I stopped by DropSmashFix just off of state to see what the prices were. Kaleb, a younger tech, came to the front counter curling back the curtain like a modern super hero (sadly, without a cape). it costed me about $100 out the door for the service which required a new LCD and Glass screen. Kaleb was surprisingly fast, my lady and I went to the comic book store next door and one other store before coming back. My iPhone 6s wouldn't hold a charge for more than an hour, So I took it to the Apple Store to be replaced sure enough it had just passed the warranty but I was OK to pay the $50 that they were going to charge to replace the battery, Unfortunately because there was a tiny chip on the screen they told me the only way they could replace the batteries if they also replace the screen for an additional $125 which would've made The cost to repair my battery almost $200 no way! My brother told me that he had gone in to get his 6S battery repaired at DropSmashFix for around 50 bucks so I took it in and was greeted by Charles, He told me he could replace the battery for about $50 regardless of the tiny little crack on the corner of the phone thank God! I was so pleased with the service that I told my girlfriend that's where she should get her cracked screen fixed, so I took her phone in there today and they repaired the screen in about a half hour and even replaced A corrosive seal free of charge. I couldn't be happier with my experience with Charles and his associate Lief, they were incredibly efficient and professional and very helpful! If I could give 0 stars, I would. This was the worst customer service I have ever received. I turned my phone in on a Saturday and they said 2 business days to receive the phone. I did not receive a call when it was done, I had to come in and check on it myself on Wednesday. They said the screen was fixed but they let me leave the screen not actually being fixed. They did not check to see if the screen was connected to the network. I was told they would put a rush order in to get a replacement. I heard nothing from them for 3 days. I would call and they would say they would call me back and they never did. I finally came in the following Saturday and they still haven't received the part. the person working did not care about the business saying, the manager screwed it up. They offered a refund on the repair but I was out of work (I do a lot of business over the phone) for a week. Please don't go here!!!! Don't make the same mistake I did. My husband previously had a good experience and has been recommending DSF to many people. However, we won't be recommending them again. I brought in my iPhone 5s before a trip because the battery was dying in about 8 hours. No other issues whatsoever. After several trips back, I was first told that the charging port had been fried, then they couldn't figure out what the problem was. I was eventually told that my phone is now "unfixable", aka I have to go buy a new phone. No one even apologized to me for breaking my phone, instead he talked to me like I was stupid. Things like "it's difficult to understand" I was shocked- that's honestly the thing that I'm most upset about- how I was treated. I brought my phone here to have the screen replaced after it had been cracked. The staff was very friendly and helpful. After spending $130 to get my phone fixed my phone now has a multitude of issues. There is black lines through the front facing camera, I am unable to hear the audio of my phone calls and my phone will randomly restart and take forever to turn on.
