Let me start this review by explaining my love for the Allen Edmonds brand of shoes. Their dress…read moreshoes are the only brand that I wear. I fully believe they are the best dress shoes out there at their price point. They are well worth their cost. With that said, I purchased a pair of black Park Avenues online and they just didn't feel right. I decided that I wanted to go into the Allen Edmonds store to get my foot properly fitted the "Allen Edmonds way." Well, that day, the "Allen Edmonds way" meant the lady who was working questioning me about why I wanted my foot measured if I already owned a pair of their shoes. I mentioned that I bought the shoes based on the size I had worn previously for another brand. So, to measure and size my foot, she gave me the Brannock device and had me do it myself. I was blown away. I've been to much lower end shoe stores, and even they actually measure your foot for you. It was such a disappointing experience. If I'm going to spend $400+ on a pair of shoes, well, I expect a better experience that I can get a Payless.

They also have a great sale section towards the back which is always a good idea to check out, and they of course have their 'impulse buys' aka socks near the register.
