Nothing is really high end but a printed t-shirt $55 minimum.... Reproduced hand tees at that... for vintage that lives up but reproduced?! No. I love the style here and the merchandising was incredible but damn. The sticker shock never stopped. I checked so many tags as I loved more than I didn't. The employee didn't greet us or smile... no eye contact. Which was odd. Seemed the assumption was we weren't the typical clients. Nothing size inclusive and even things labeled size Large... was not. Sad and disappointing honestly. Love the shop but go with a full wallet and small waist line

I did sell a few things there years ago and was terribly underpaid for the items. They are on the honesty method there and if you actually believe them on their word, then I guess you don't mind the place. I see the prices and I know what I received so the math doesn't add up. I got $100.00 for a bag I paid over a $1,000 for. I have since learned my lesson trusting this place and sold many items on Fashionphile and had a much better experience. I actually made money on an item I sold on Fashionphile and did not have to go through the BS this place puts you through. Learn from my negative experience here, don't trust them!

I bought a Elisbeth vest and Barbara Lessor top and paid $99.59. I was interested in a unique coat but the sleeves had beady balls showing considerable wear and tear. They wanted $85.00 for it! Listen I do a lot of second hand shopping and you never take any item home that shows wear and tear. When I pointed it out the sales person said it was made in Italy and was very unique. I agree with her but it was also worn out! I don't want to knock the store though... It a good store to get an occasional bargain but it's not in my opinion a store of bargains!

To my dismay, the shoes were returned to me without the original box and dust bag! The shop owner insisted it's their policy to not keep boxes/ dust bags due to space and I would have been notified of this at the time of my selling. These items add value to resale items and I NEVER would've voluntarily let them be tossed in the garbage. Had I known this policy, I would've taken them home just in case the shoes didn't sell. On top of this, I found out the shoes were priced to sell at the shop for more than I had originally paid for them! Of course they wouldn't sell at a crazy inflated price! Everything in this store is overpriced for the used junk that it is.

As long as Chester Boot Shop is in business, I will never buy a pair anywhere else. As far as value, I would say that they are inline with any online retailer's pricing. However, if I can support a local, small, family-owned, customer focused business in my community, I will... always.

I have been looking for a store that carries my size in unique pieces that will last. I happy to pay for quality of a well-made piece and am tired of the mass-produced casual wear that seems to be the only options anymore and fall apart in a couple months or after a few washes. The saleswoman was super sweet and helpful. I kept bugging her to look at the pieces behind the counter that just came in. She was steaming them but they looked so good, I had to try one on. I didn't end up purchasing anything, as I wasn't planning on making a purchase today and my meter was running out, but I did try on 5 more items and cannot stop thinking about this store and the Joseph Ribkoff items. They also offer a wide variety of sizing so those of us with more ample curves have options, too. When I walked in, I fell in love with a nice cowl neck top. Made in America (which they noted on the tag) the top was black and had a shiny silver spotted pattern on the cowl area of the shirt. It was different! The pricing was inline with what I've paid for other pieces made in America, which I personally value and seek out when shopping. When I turned the corner in the back, a whole new area revealed itself. Several racks of wardrobe pieces that will all stand out in a crowd. I told my husband that some of them I saw myself wearing when I finally doubled down on my "fun and kooky art teacher vibe" but not everything is that bold. There were some very smart pieces, some more traditional silhouettes but in bold colors. There is also mid-century modern clothes that were retro but also in the here and now. I haven't intended on buying a bright pink party dress, but when I slipped it on in the fitting room I was thrilled - it fit like a glove. The dress was an XXL which I don't think I've ever worn, but knowing fashion sizing can sometimes be wonky I gave it a go. It had some frill, a front zipper that smartly hid itself (and thank goodness, a dress I can zip up for myself and I don't have to shimmy into), and the best part... POCKETS! REAL FUNCTIONAL POCKETS. It was even on their sale rack for a great price. The next time I'm looking for an outfit for a wedding or maybe just to replace a couple shirts with something with a bit more personality, I'll definitely be back.
