For instance my mom wanted to pay for winter studded tires for me, and the front end was being a pain in the ass about it. So I talked to the service manager and low and behold she gave me a pre authorized payment form for my mom to fill out and fax back to me to authorize a payment from her for my purchase. Great service department, amazing actually. The parts and service department talk with each other, they know what they need, they bought and buy extra winter studded tires for winter and sell them at a discounted rate the next year. The ones I bought and have on are some of the best winter tires you can buy, tires warehouse couldn't beat VW's price, I was very impressed. Basic services are a bit pricey but hey, labour is expensive and I don't have a garage and tools to do it myself so I'm not going to complain. Oh and this entire emissions scandal, please.....there is. I thing wrong with my car and it still meets our provinces standards. But hey I'll take something if they give it to me. This dealership is great, the give me the services I ask for, I am very clear about what it is I want though. Cheers, enjoy being serviced;)

1 STAR -- BUYERS FROM OUT OF TOWN, READ THIS BEFORE YOU MAKE THE DRIVE…read more I live approximately five hours from River City Hyundai in Edmonton, so I made it extremely clear from the beginning that I could not simply "come down and see what happens." I was shopping for a 2026 Santa Fe Ultimate Calligraphy Hybrid AWD and was quoted a very competitive price of $56,398. I was initially told approximately $18,000 for my trade, and the paperwork I was subsequently given showed a $16,660 trade allowance, subject to inspection. Because I live five hours away, I specifically discussed the trade and the condition of my vehicle before making the trip. I made it clear that I would not the deal if the payment increased significantly. I was reassured that as long as my vehicle was in good condition, there should be no problem. This wasn't some mystery vehicle they knew nothing about. It is a Hyundai, and I disclosed the mileage. My local Hyundai dealership had already physically inspected it and offered $15,500. Based on River City Hyundai's representations and paperwork, we proceeded. I obtained insurance on the new vehicle, my husband took time off work, we spent the money on fuel and drove five hours to Edmonton. We arrived. The new Santa Fe was exactly the vehicle represented to me. Then they inspected my trade. Suddenly my vehicle was supposedly worth only: $11,000. Not $18,000. Not the $16,660 shown on the paperwork. $11,000. That's a $5,660 reduction from the written trade allowance after we drove five hours to get there. And somehow another Hyundai dealership that had actually inspected the exact same vehicle in person could offer $15,500. I cannot speak to anyone else's experience or what River City Hyundai intended. I can only tell you exactly what happened to us. But here's my opinion: a great deal isn't a great deal if the numbers don't survive the customer's arrival at the dealership. I had specifically explained why I needed accurate numbers BEFORE making a ten-hour round trip. They knew how far away we lived. They knew the mileage. They knew I couldn't afford substantially higher payments. They reassured me enough that I insured the new vehicle and made the trip. If they genuinely believed my trade could potentially drop by more than $5,600 after inspection, I would have expected that risk to be made crystal clear before a customer drove five hours. Instead, we arrived after investing our time and money and were presented with a completely different financial reality. Maybe they expected that after driving five hours, paying for insurance, burning the gas and taking time off work, we'd feel too invested to walk away. They underestimated us. We walked. I would rather drive five hours home empty-handed than spend years making payments on a deal I told them from the beginning I wanted in writing which they did but changed it anyway! River City Hyundai didn't lose this sale because I changed my mind about the vehicle. I loved the vehicle. They lost the sale because the numbers I travelled five hours for weren't the numbers waiting for me when I arrived. My advice to anyone travelling from outside Edmonton: do not make the trip based on preliminary trade numbers. Get the trade value as firmly documented as possible, ask exactly what could cause it to change after inspection, and be completely prepared to walk away. I did. Five hours there. Five hours home. Expensive lesson learned. One star.

I purchased a 2023 Hyundai Palisade Ultimate Calligraphy from River City Hyundai expecting a safe…read moreand reliable family vehicle. What I received has been unsafe and unreliable, with repeated failures and constant deflection. At just over 53,000 km the engine failed catastrophically near Rocky Mountain House. My family was stranded and we walked for about an hour and a half along a highway ditch to reach town. Hyundai Roadside towed the SUV to Gary Moe Hyundai in Red Deer. Their diagnosis showed misfires on cylinders two four and six, zero compression on two of those cylinders, liner wear, and the need for a short block replacement. The heads were machined and valves resealed. I was without the vehicle for weeks and had to push for a rental, then had to fight to keep the rental while the repairs were being made. To be fair, River City Hyundai did arrange transport of the Palisade from Red Deer back to Edmonton when repairs were completed. Days after I picked it up the vehicle failed again. It developed an RPM matched ticking sound, lurched heavily, would not accelerate past 20 km per hour with the pedal depressed, and would not rev past 3000. There was no check engine light. It had to be flat bedded again. I was later told the catalytic converter had failed, which fits as a downstream effect of the original engine event that I had repeatedly told them to look into... Keep in mind this happened literally two days after I got it back. Since this second failure communication from River City Hyundai has become evasive. The sales manager who had been engaging with me has not provided clear answers. My requests for a straight response on next steps and on a buyback review and even a rental car have been getting ignored. It feels like deflection and now they just want to ignore the underlining issues to make me go away. This vehicle is unsafe and unfit for purpose. The repairs to date have not restored reliability or confidence and essentially point to gross negligence. Take my experience as a warning. As much as Hyundai will tell you they stand behind their warranty and as the sales manager told me "go above and beyond" you will be left having to fight them every step of the way. This isn't a one time event either, search up Hyundai engine failures and you will read many stories just like mine. Do not buy a Hyundai and do not buy from River City Hyundai.

Not only was the problem not fixed the first time, but I had to take time out of my schedule to book and return for another appointment. To make matters worse, the cost jumped from around $200 to $600. It feels like every time I bring a vehicle to a Ford dealership, the bill somehow grows while the original problem remains unresolved. Is it because I am a female that knows nothing about vehicle's? This is the 3rd negative experience I've had with Ford service departments, although not all at this specific location. At this point, my confidence in Ford's service network is extremely low. As a customer, I expect honest communication, accurate diagnostics, and repairs to be completed correctly the first time. Instead, I've been left frustrated, inconvenienced, and questioning whether I'm being treated fairly. I still have additional repairs that need to be done, but there is absolutely no chance in hell I will be bringing my vehicle back here. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
