First things first. The people at the courthouse will tell you all of these places cost the same. That is not true. I actually called around to several of these places in the valley and this one was a little bit more expensive. $40 to be exact. Not a lot, but I suspect if you're looking at "driver safety" schools every dollar counts.
My first impression of this school was awful and so was my last.
At my intake appointment, the woman was a total you know what. My appointment was scheduled for 1:00. I was on time and when I got there I mentioned that I had to be somewhere at 2:00. I was assured that I would have plenty of time. Well, that is until the counsellor made me sit in the waiting area for half an hour on purpose. So she finally brings me in at 1:30 and then shortly thereafter yells at me, accusing me of having an attitude problem. Clearly, the only problem was her trying to take out her frustrations on someone else.
In the classes, all you do is watch movies from the 80s and then have a group discussion. This is all pretty painless. Unless they want to mess with you...
I was on my last group session, showed up 20 minutes early, brought food for everyone and then I sit down in the group was told to go home. Why? You didn't check in.
Of course, the previous week, when I went into the group leader's office to sign in I was told I no longer had to sign in (because my education sessions were complete). Her claim here was that she didn't know I was present so she gave my seat for group away to someone else. Of course, again, I could see that this person was having a shitty day and wanted someone else to shit all over and I just happened to be there.
Now, not really a big deal, except they charge you for missed classes. And even though I didn't technically miss anything, they still charged me extra for this class that I was sent home from and I got done with the program a week later.
Basically, you have no recourse for being treated like shit, either. If they see fit, they'll just send you back to the court system and you'll have to do it all over again.
So if I had any advice, other than try a different school, it's this. Pretend you enjoy being forced to go to traffic school at all times, make sure to always be early and check in even if you're told you don't have to. read more
