Unfortunately, the dealership outsourced this and the body shop failed to do their job properly and the paint started to peel. Hyundai or the body shop would not cover the peeling paint. That meant I had to look elsewhere to get the job done a second time. The first body shop, was closing down to move and would not take any business. The second was ridiculously overpriced, quoting me nearly three times as much as what Javier estimated the repair at. It was Shift'n Gears, next door that recommended Calderon's Body Repairs, now I know why. I brought the car in and his wife took the info and pictures and a day later I had received a quote. I was surprised that the estimate, so much I immediately replied with, "when can I drop it off?' It took parts of four days, but the turnaround time was quick. More importantly was the quality of the work. It honestly looked like a new car. I picked it up and it had been washed and detailed and looked great! I was very happy with the work done on the bumper and driver's door handle. Would I use Calderon's again? Hell yes! Unfortunately, the Tacoma is plagued with poorly optimized ECU and TCU (brains for the engine and transmission) parameters that result in jerky mis-timed shifting and generally lackluster throttle response. It constantly gear hunts around town and on the highway, resulting in a really disappointing driving experience. Yikes - perfect way to ruin a great truck! Enter JC at Central Coast Tuning and the OTT (Overland Tailor Tuning) tune. OTT specializes in tunes for several Toyota and Lexus vehicles and claims to remedy all of the above issues resulting in a vehicle that drives like it's meant to. I've been looking for a fix for my 2020 Tacoma with the 3.5l V6 for awhile and have combed through forums, Reddit and Facebook groups. The OTT tune kept coming up, nearly always with excellent reviews. By nature I'm a skeptic and have reservations about all the "snake oil" products out there... In spite of my reservations, I decided to take the plunge. I located my local representative, JC Valenzuela at Central Coast Tuning, on the OTT website and was happy to see he had the same positive reviews OTT has. I reached out, scheduled the tune installation and as they say, the rest is history. No BS. It's a completely different truck. I live two hours from JC, so my first post-tune experience was mostly highway. Wow. What a distinctly improved drive. Same highway. Different truck. Smooth and well mannered on the flats with a locked up torque converter (instead of previous unnecessary sporadic shifting) on slight inclines - perfect! When I put my foot in it to pass, I was rewarded by efficient and appropriate downshifts. Once I got home, the around town driving experience was equally improved. No more unexpected choppy shifts. Smooth throttle response made stop and go traffic much more tolerable too. So, this is the real deal. If you are not happy with how your Tacoma drives, get an OTT tune from JC now. It's the best mod I've made to my Tacoma hands down! If you think this review sounds like a commercial (yes, I'm that happy), please read my other Yelp reviews. The rev hang and throttle response have both been a bit sluggish, which means that I couldn't shift fast. After the medium tune, the changes are night and day! The 3.5L V6 is finally living up to its name. I am still taking the time to adjust myself to the new throttle response, but I am happily unlearning the old muscle memory that I've built to cope with the rev hang!

Jonny Prius & EV Repair- Negligence Cost Me an Engine…read moreRating: I am writing this to warn others--especially women--about the costly negligence I experienced at this shop. My car was towed here in November for overheating. I paid $565 for what I was told were the necessary repairs. However, the car overheated again almost immediately because the original problem was never actually fixed. Upon inspection, it appeared the thermostat had never been replaced. Because the shop failed to perform the initial repair correctly, my engine was severely damaged and completely failed, requiring a full engine replacement that cost thousands of dollars. When I went back, the owner tried to quote me $5,000 for a new engine to fix the damage his own negligence caused. I filed a formal complaint with the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR). Following their investigation, the owner was forced to refund my $565 because he could not produce a single receipt or proof of what work he had supposedly done the first time. I ended up taking my car elsewhere to have the engine replaced. Do not take your vehicle here. Their lack of transparency and failure to perform basic repairs resulted in major mechanical failure for my car.
