This company does not stand behind its work...
I had taken my 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass to have the engine converted to a roller engine by replacing the cam, lifters, push rods, and heads. This conversion was highly recommended by an article that I saw "The Other 350". This was around a $5,000.00 conversion, so it was not cheap. I also live about 200 miles away from this shop, so this was a big step for me. I brought my car to them and within about 5 weeks it was done and ready to be picked up. I had a friend drive me up and follow me home which again is around 200 miles. When I got home, the engine had relieved itself of about one quart of oil all over the engine compartment and the engine was running very rough. I immediately called Mondello and sent them a video. The owner said to bring the car back to them so they could look at it. I brought it back and was told it had a broken rocker arm. They had it for a week and I picked it up again and by the time I drove it home, it was running rough again. Once again, I put my car on a trailer and took it back to them. This time they found a broken rocker arm and a valve spring. (The same rocker arm that broke the first time.) I left it for another week and then picked it up again. To my surprise, all they did was replace those two parts. He assured me it was a parts issue and it would be fine. I drove it home and again the SAME valve spring and rocker arm BROKE. He would not warranty the work and would only replace the parts. In my opinion the parts are not the problem it was the way it was all installed .After all of this back and forth with lousy results, I decided not to go back. He would not refund anything!! This guy is not trustworthy and I wouldn't take my lawnmower to him. I recommend that you all STAY AWAY!! There are plenty of trustworthy mechanics out there, but this guy is NOT one of them. read more
