Iced latte and avo crunch on sourdough
Katy C.

Nate has been frequenting Drip House by himself while I'm working in town, so I decided to stop by on my own this time. I was happy to see there were spots available in the small parking lot. It's right across the street from the Big House which is kind of fun to see (although Spartan Stadium has my heart forever, #GoGreen), but I think this area can get pretty busy at peak times. And forget coming here on gameday, I would avoid it at all costs haha. When I arrived around 8:15 am on a Wednesday they weren't busy yet, but it started to fill up around 8:45 and by 9 was pretty close to capacity. The space is decent sized with great natural light and varied seating. Here's where my review is more like a 4.5 - the blue metal table I sat at was SUPER uncomfortable. I sat at a smaller table since I was just by myself, but it was the wrong move. The table legs were spaced so my knees didn't fit between them and the chair wasn't giving enough back support. This seems like a small thing but I was really hoping to be able to sit for a couple of hours and get some work done. That said, I did love my iced latte and the fact that they have a full food menu. I got the avo crunch on sourdough and added egg. The sandwich was super hot and fresh, and I loved the addition of the lime for a bit of a kick. It was pretty messy but really tasty. They also have crepes, bagels, toasts, and other sandwiches. They did NOT take my name for my order :( Overall a nice local coffee spot that I enjoyed for the most part!

I went here to meet up with a friend. The place is on Main Street so finding parking can be tough. It is a comfortable and nice spot to grab a coffee and a pastry if you are in the area.

Pistachio mocha Dubai latte

Incredible coffee and unique seasonal flavors. We got the Dubai matcha but swapped out the latte for a pistachio mocha. so. Damn. Good. Also got the chocolate pistachio croissant and grilled cheese. All fire.

We came while visiting AA and loved the aesthetic and vibe. Went with the salted caramel (whole milk) and cardamom rose (oat milk) lattes, both were overly milky to us which muted the espresso and unique flavors. Also, ordered the Wolverine breakfast sandwich (added cream cheese), first one came without egg, but they remade it with friendly customer service. Sandwich was fine but not worth $10. Overall, just an okay experience.

Iced Vanilla Latte and everything bagel with cream cheese

I came here for a quick breakfast and it was very good! The iced vanilla latte was very tasty and so was their everything bagel. The inside is very cute with a nice outdoor area also. Overall, I'd definitely come back. The prices were very average for the area, $6-$7 for most drinks.

Love that Thai place had parking, parking in Ann Arbor around downtown area can be a little crazy. I got a caramel latte and it was perfect, perfectly sweet, creamy and perfect temperature:))) The almond croissant was insane! A bit too rich, I couldn't finish it all, but I saved the rest for later. The outdoor patio is amazing, I love sitting outside in the summer, place wasn't too crowded so my order took about 3-5 minutes. A bit on the pricey side but would definitely recommend at least once.

My favorite coffee & breakfast spot in Ann Arbor! Emily makes the best chai & I love the crepes

I stopped in for coffee and to answer email in the early afternoon. It was busy. The coffee was good. The food items are standard coffee shop faire. There is a good amount of work space, including large tables and outdoor seating. The atmosphere is good with some people talking and most people working. There is good lighting with the big windows. I like the view with the Big House across the street. Everything was clean and updated. Decent parking.

Came on a Sunday morning and this place was POPPING! [Coffee] I can only speak for two of their specialty drinks: I ordered the Aquarius which was a strawberry cream latte drink. I liked it at first but the more I drank it, the more sweet and desserty it was, and I soon tired of it. My boyfriend got the Military which was a matcha/coffee mix which was a neat idea cause it was green/brown just like the military. It was also bitter and grainy af, just like the military (grainy cause the matcha wasn't mixed thoroughly). If I were to go back, I'd probably try a more standard drink like a cappuccino or latte. The cup is really cute though! [Environment] I loved the decor and it was very bright and happy vibes. I will say, it was very busy on a Sunday morning. Every table had people vigorously studying or working. The line was to the door. I waited maybe 10 minutes for the bathroom and for my drink. No parking in the lot so I had to park in the residential street which is always dicey cause I always get scared that I've read the parking signs wrong. They were playing Taylor Swift quite loudly which I appreciated as a togoer but I would probably get really distracted if I was trying to work. I saw there were plenty of outlets and the wifi password was posted near the cash register. [Staff] Very friendly, kind, and helpful!

"RooRoast!"…read more Waiting for the light to change at Main and Stadium, I look down at the clock. Seven minutes to five. "What the heck. I'll call." "Hey Siri, call Roos Roast." My heart races a little. I'd been trying to get over for a coffee all day and now they are about to close. I blurt out my ask. "...any way you could just leave a coffee outside on the picnic table. I could slip the money under the door?" "Don't worry about it." Kyra says. "Just knock. I'll make it right now." "Thank you so much." 5:02 pm: I zoom into the parking lot, jump out of the car, run up to the door and knock. The door swings open and there she is...my coffee angel; coffee in hand with a smile. I know she is trying to get out of there. I grab the coffee, shove some money with a good tip into her hand. "Thank you so much. I'll write about it." I yell back. It's taken me a couple of weeks but herein lies my humble expression of gratitude to Kyra, the one who had the where with all to stop and ask herself: Who's in charge here, the clock or my heart? I love everything about RoosRoast; the music, the art, the bulletin board, the garden, and especially the relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to stop and have a chat with someone in line or the lovely people who make you really good coffee. Did I mention the really good coffee? All of this run by the renewable energy of the sun. I learned from a young person (I'm 70) in line one day that the buzz word in commerce right now, is "frictionless"; luring us to fly even faster through our precious moments without obstruction. No time to chat or stop and connect. Oh my gosh! If we don't have each other, what else is there? As Ann Arbor drifts away from the townie town it once was, RoosRoast stands defiant; determined to hold space for the slow down, the slow talk, the long pull. I always leave RR happier and more at peace than when I arrived. Thank you Kyra and RoosRoast

But none of that is why I'm here... I stopped in on my way to work yesterday to get a cup of coffee and decided I'd better write a review about what I got. Many of the reviews below mention the great coffee that Zingerman's provides. But as a coffee drinker of 30 years, I can confidently say Zingerman's roasts the MOST BITTER coffee I've ever had. I guess it's a product for connoisseurs, but I am a little disappointed they don't have a normal coffee that tastes good. They only have burnt tasting, extraordinarily bitter coffees that make a British IPA beer taste watery. What's up with that? Why no mellow coffee at Zingerman's?? Also, if the cream curdles as soon as I add it to the coffee, I'm grossed out. If I want curds in my coffee, I'll dump some cottage cheese in there. What I prefer is a nice, smooth, creamy cup of drip coffee. There's really nothing better!

I went to the first location, right in the heart of U of M and the line was out the door. So I then went to the other location which seemed larger inside with plenty of seating. So I approach the counter and place my order: iced banana foster with peanut butter cold foam (up-charge). Before ordering I did ask if the banana flavor was subtle or more forward tasting and she stated it was subtle so I asked for more banana flavoring as well. When I got the drink - I first noticed the foam was missing - so I asked about this and she said it was because the cold foam frother was broken. So I asked why was I charged for foam if it was broken and she said she forgot and didn't offer a refund or anything and I was running late, so I left. I take a sip in the car and notice that there's absolutely no banana flavor to the drink - it tasted like a basic iced latte with cane syrup. Overall, just disappointed with the service and drink itself lacking flavor and the up charge for something I didn't receive. Maybe this was a one off but I don't I'd return.

We found nearby street parking and we were able to get a spot on a comfy couch that was near a power strip. There isn't a ton of seating so I imagine it can get busy throughout the day. The building is historic and also houses a coworking space which has a lot of really great amenities. The vibe inside the coffee shop is cozy but modern, and I loved the decor. They also had some really great merch - the tote bags were calling my name! I ordered the cardamom fig latte and Nate got a golden milk latte. They do that thing where they just yell out the name of the drink rather than taking your name, but I loved everything else about this place. The cardamom fig latte was unique and definitely tasted of both cardamom and fig. They have bagels and some pastries. I really liked the varied seating (comfy couches/chairs, tables, and bar seating) and plentiful outlets for getting work done. The wifi was fast and consistent. Most recently I came here for a meeting, ordering a vanilla latte and a sweet potato hand pie to nibble on since I hadn't eaten yet. The description of the latter sounded so good, sweet potatoes with black beans and a few other veggies, wrapped up in flaky pie dough. The filling, however, was mostly pureed, giving it more of a baby food consistency which I didn't love. The flavor was good though but I couldn't get over the mushy texture. The black beans weren't pureed in but were few and far between (I think I maybe counted 2 or 3?). In addition to my hand pie I also ordered a piece of the billionaire's shortbread but they didn't ring it up/prepare it. By the time I realized it (I had to wait for my hand pie to be heated up) it was only a few minutes before close so I didn't bother going back up to the counter to reorder. IDK if they were just in a hurry to close or genuinely didn't hear my order but it was a bummer since it did look great. The vanilla latte, however, was quite good. And for a coffee shop that's most important. And what they lacked in substantial food options they did make up for in fun, seasonal drink specials and a few sweet treats like cookies and the aforementioned shortbread. The space is very cute, as well, and made for a really comfortable meeting location. So overall I did like my visit here. I just won't be rushing back here if I'm feeling peckish. But for a caffeinated pick me up and a nice place to meet or chill, this definitely fits the bill.
