    Drive through only! So cool

Very cool, drive-Thru only coffee....two lanes and a walk-up window. Unique and totally something you'd expect in a college town. Definitely go here instead of StarSux

Small flavor of the day coffee

I've gone to Bearclaw a few times and it's always great. I've tried the flavor of the day coffees (peppermint patty and Samoa) on two visits and I loved them. They were flavored just enough to get a taste and not overwhelming. My boyfriend tried the iced coffee and it was just as good. The Dexter bakery donuts are so so so good. I've been trying to find the best donut in Ann Arbor but I guess I need to go up to Dexter. I've only had the chocolate frosted donuts but they taste like the powdered mini hostess donettes but 100x better. I've also tried the Dexter Bakery Bearclaw pastry and it was light and not too sweet, had an almond taste to it. They also do a punch card system and I can't wait to fill it up.

I LOVE BEARCLAW! Whenever I visit Ann Arbor I get coffee from Bearclaw. Just their simple brewed coffee with a splash of almond milk is my favorite. The service is always great and the employees are so kind. I also love their punch card system. If you buy 11 drinks, you get the 12th free!

I like what they did to the place. A long time ago it was a gas station. Before that who knows, but that it's evolving where Washtenaw and Stadium converge makes this split-level stone building a point of interest. Look at the pics and see how clever they made it. One criticism I agree with in other reviews is that they favor drive through over walk-ups. It did take longer than it should have to acknowledge and serve us. Menu is fairly simple, coffee etc.., ubiquitous munchies and... smoothies? Ok, something atypical here so we ordered the strawberry smoothie and found it to our liking. Reasonably priced, we only lingered on the premises to see how it's set up. Generally speaking, if we weren't parked across the street it would be better to drive through. While there are places to sit I think their forte is get the cars through here quickly.

Best way to start Sunday Kodiak mocha with tootsie roll!

Delicious coffee- I ordered a signature mocha blend with Almond substitute and was thrilled with the rich abundant taste. Double line drive through so you never leave your car & staff take & serve at your order at your car window. I suggest allowing more time to grab that cup of Joe to accommodate potential lines. It's the best service as can be expected during these crazy times.

"RooRoast!"…read more Waiting for the light to change at Main and Stadium, I look down at the clock. Seven minutes to five. "What the heck. I'll call." "Hey Siri, call Roos Roast." My heart races a little. I'd been trying to get over for a coffee all day and now they are about to close. I blurt out my ask. "...any way you could just leave a coffee outside on the picnic table. I could slip the money under the door?" "Don't worry about it." Kyra says. "Just knock. I'll make it right now." "Thank you so much." 5:02 pm: I zoom into the parking lot, jump out of the car, run up to the door and knock. The door swings open and there she is...my coffee angel; coffee in hand with a smile. I know she is trying to get out of there. I grab the coffee, shove some money with a good tip into her hand. "Thank you so much. I'll write about it." I yell back. It's taken me a couple of weeks but herein lies my humble expression of gratitude to Kyra, the one who had the where with all to stop and ask herself: Who's in charge here, the clock or my heart? I love everything about RoosRoast; the music, the art, the bulletin board, the garden, and especially the relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to stop and have a chat with someone in line or the lovely people who make you really good coffee. Did I mention the really good coffee? All of this run by the renewable energy of the sun. I learned from a young person (I'm 70) in line one day that the buzz word in commerce right now, is "frictionless"; luring us to fly even faster through our precious moments without obstruction. No time to chat or stop and connect. Oh my gosh! If we don't have each other, what else is there? As Ann Arbor drifts away from the townie town it once was, RoosRoast stands defiant; determined to hold space for the slow down, the slow talk, the long pull. I always leave RR happier and more at peace than when I arrived. Thank you Kyra and RoosRoast

From the written menu, I thought this was going to be butterfly pea powder, cinnamon, almond milk, maple syrup, coconut whipped cream. However, when ordering the Blue Whale drink on the self serve order kiosk, it's described as "Blue Majik" spirulina/energy boosting botanicals (carbonated). The drink I got fit the latter's description. Would suggest updating the board :). I did get a little jittery afterwards, but unsure if that was from the "energy boosting" botanicals or from a coffee I had a couple hours earlier. (Or combo - I do tend to be more sensitive to caffeine, and assuming this drink was caffeine free.) Free WiFi and seating/outlets to do a bit of work here. Not a lot of seating for this, but it wasn't busy on a Thursday morning for a little work! Clean airy vibes, and convenient location in what I call the "Trader Joe's plaza".

I appreciate the efforts they put into community building and local craft. But none of that is why I'm here... I stopped in on my way to work yesterday to get a cup of coffee and decided I'd better write a review about what I got. Many of the reviews below mention the great coffee that Zingerman's provides. But as a coffee drinker of 30 years, I can confidently say Zingerman's roasts the MOST BITTER coffee I've ever had. I guess it's a product for connoisseurs, but I am a little disappointed they don't have a normal coffee that tastes good. They only have burnt tasting, extraordinarily bitter coffees that make a British IPA beer taste watery. What's up with that? Why no mellow coffee at Zingerman's?? Also, if the cream curdles as soon as I add it to the coffee, I'm grossed out. If I want curds in my coffee, I'll dump some cottage cheese in there. What I prefer is a nice, smooth, creamy cup of drip coffee. There's really nothing better!

I went to the first location, right in the heart of U of M and the line was out the door. So I then went to the other location which seemed larger inside with plenty of seating. So I approach the counter and place my order: iced banana foster with peanut butter cold foam (up-charge). Before ordering I did ask if the banana flavor was subtle or more forward tasting and she stated it was subtle so I asked for more banana flavoring as well. When I got the drink - I first noticed the foam was missing - so I asked about this and she said it was because the cold foam frother was broken. So I asked why was I charged for foam if it was broken and she said she forgot and didn't offer a refund or anything and I was running late, so I left. I take a sip in the car and notice that there's absolutely no banana flavor to the drink - it tasted like a basic iced latte with cane syrup. Overall, just disappointed with the service and drink itself lacking flavor and the up charge for something I didn't receive. Maybe this was a one off but I don't I'd return.
