one of the best coffee spots in the city! the double matcha with strawberry, salted caramel latte & anything with the cannoli cold foam cream top i literally drive across town to get drinks here + everyone at the truck is super friendly!

I always see the longest line here at drip daddy at the Mar Vista Farmers market, and finally decided to give their matchas a try. I ordered the strawberry Matcha, and the Matcha is a ceremonial grade, so there is no bitterness, but I do wish that they added more Matcha to the drink. I felt like the strawberry overpowered the drink and I didn't really get the opportunity to taste the Matcha. With that being said, I still thought it was good overall. And I see a lot of reviews on how good their coffee and espressos are, so I may give those a try instead next time.

Curiosity finally killed the cat as I came here after the gym one day when they were by USC! I feel like I am honestly on a quest to try every coffee and matcha place close to USC and this was my latest victim. All milks cost the same so take your pick. I got an iced latte with almond milk and it was a little bit sweet with a decently strong coffee taste without being bitter or sour. I'd love to try their matcha sometime as well. Service is super fast and the dude manning the truck is really nice!

Finishing a stroll around the Silverlake reservoir, we came across the Drip Daddy Truck. What better treat than an iced caffeinated beverage? We ordered an iced dirty chai with oat milk and their signature shaken brown sugar oat milk latte. The iced dirty chai with oak milk was creamy. I enjoyed the prominent spice flavor that paired well with the espresso. In contrast to the iced dirty chai, I could taste more of the espresso in the shaken brown sugar. There was some acidity, and the flavor of brown sugar was minimal. The barista was friendly and kindly offered our Shiba Inu a milk bone treat. Our drinks were well made! Their location varies, so check their Instagram @Dripdaddyla for their schedule. They parked across the Silver Lake Basketball Court on Van Pelt Place during our visit.

Easily some of the best coffee I've had in LA, the only sad part is the pumpkin flavor isn't year round :((

Excellent place for your typical espresso drinks but also great if you want something sweet and yummy, like their cannoli con panna!

I got the iced matcha (ceremonial grade) with the lavender syrup (all syrups are made in-house) This truck is in Abbot Kinney every Saturday!

I was even able to save it for the next day. the wait for the food is not long at all. im glad i finally decided to give them a try. I am most definitely coming back to try their noodles!

My first visit to King Tut's Hibachi food truck was amazing. The food was seasoned perfectly, the rice was cooked properly & the filet pieces were big, generous chunks. The portions are very fair for the prices, two people can easily share one plate. I left impressed, happy & excited for their small business. However, after going back several more times, the inconsistency has been disappointing. On multiple visits, the rice was undercooked & grainy. I actually called the owner directly about it because I didn't want to leave a negative review, I wanted him to have the opportunity to fix it & be aware of it directly. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like much has changed. Last night was especially disappointing. The rice was undercooked again, & filet was cut into very small bits. It had so much pepper & salt that it wasn't edible, all I could taste was pepper. You couldn't even add the sauces on top because it would have made it even saltier. It honestly felt like a waste of $88 on two plates. The flavor was completely unbalanced compared to my first visit. There's also a pricing issue with the menu that customers should be aware of. Ordering a plate of double filet & a plate of double shrimp (to share at home), costs about $5 more than ordering two filet & shrimp combo plates. The receipt didn't provide a breakdown either, so as a customer you really have to study the menu & structure your order carefully to avoid paying more for essentially the same amount of food. I brought this to the owner's attention. He did offered $5 cash back, which I appreciated, but the real issue is not being able to fully trust the pricing structure. The owner is genuinely very nice, that's why I've given multiple chances & brought up concerns directly to him. He does seem like he's taking down feedback when you mention issues with the food, but when you come back & don't see improvement, you start to question it. As a customer, I need to be able to trust the pricing structure & expect consistency in the food. I truly hope they improve because when it's good, it's really good.

The Guatemalan is ok, you can pretty much find Guatemalan coffee anywhere in the Valley though. I haven't tried the sugary coffee drinks yet or the pastries, but I will have to at some point. The inside is cozy, good for grab -n-go. I'm sure once they get to expand to a bigger space, they will make it suitable for work or study. Service is great, smiles all around. I came when it was not busy and got my drink in under two minutes. However, the person sitting next to me (with the cutest doggie! They're dog friendly, I think ) waited longer than 10 minutes for her drink. However, this was during a rush and when it was probably the busiest in the morning (?) AMBIANCE AND ENVIRONMENT: The music volume was pretty good. It was low level when the place got busy due to people chatting, machines, ice scooping etc., but when it wasn't so busy, the level was about medium due to the atmosphere being more quiet. The vibes were Mumford and sons, Oasis, Of Monsters and Men, the Head and the Heart, and some classical sprinkled here and there. It is smaller than a chain, but cozy with quite a few seats and table options. I think they did a great job at making the best of the space. The space also encourages community as half of the seating options are shared/shareable. All within an arms reach, which in my personal opinion, is plenty of space. Because of this, it encourages you to acknowledge your fellow human being sitting across, or beside you. The environment was clean, bright, and comfortable. The environment feedback I woukd give is perhaps a stronger sun shade in the windows that the bar and stools face. I first sat here but within minutes decide to move because the heat was a bit too much for me. Again! A personal preference. Coffee shops can also naturally get warm due to the energy being used for the machines and refrigerators, so something to consider. The air-conditioning kicked in a little later which helped make it more comfortable. Another thing I noticed is the outlet near the corner table and lounge chairs has a an outlet extender plugged into the wall outlet, but the wall outlet is extremely loose with no faceplate. This can cause electric shock, wiring damage and possible fires. I know from personal experience. It's a real easy and cheap fix that I highlyyy recommend they do ASAP. Just trying to be helpful because I really, really like this spot. FOOD AND DRINKS: I ordered a Hibiscus Berry Blend, as is, iced. It was $5.00 even. It is served in a14 Oz. cup. With ice, it's probably about 12-13 Oz. of drink you're getting. I think it was worth it. The flavor was equal and very nice. Not too fruity, not too watery. It wasn't sweet, due to me not asking for any additional sweetener. As I sat and worked, I heard a lot of other orders and some were very creative. So they do have all those fun drinks people love to indulge in occasionally. They also have classic drip coffee and loose leaf tea. THE REASON WHY I TRIED INICIO: The biggest thing I noticed, being an activist myself involved in many efforts for social justice through my work and personal life, was their mission to erase modern day slavery. Human trafficking is a horrible thing that unfortunately is haooening right before out very eyes. They donate a portion of all food, drink, and catering sales to Justice 180. That is honestly, the reason why I came. I would love to partner with them and invite them to come cater at my center. I plan to spread the word about this place and continue to support them.
