Drip Beans was one of the new Vietnamese Coffee shops that I've been seeing on social media. As other reviews have mentioned, there have been many new Vietnamese coffee shops popping up around the area. My goal is to try them all! Parking was a cinch. We walked right in and there was a kiosk to order at or wait for the cashier to help you out. They had a handful of different drink offerings, but I had settled on their einspanner latte with biscoff cream top. I'm also a sucker for a glazed croffle, so I added that to my order, too. They had a few pastry options and a combo with your drink if that's what you'd prefer. There is plenty of seating inside for people who want to sit, hang out, or do work. We sat there and didn't wait for too long for our items. Our coffee came out and I was shocked to see how heavy my drink was with milk and cream. They do not play with their cream tops! Upon mixing it, you do get the strong Vietnamese caffeine. It is definitely a strong dose and worth the palpitations. Their croffle came out very hot! Sadly, it wasn't super crispy or glazed. Just hot and fresh. Overall, not a bad little spot for Vietnamese coffee if it's in the area. Definitely worth a visit!

After my doctors appointment came by for a cafecito. Found Drip Beans on IG & their products looked AMAZING!! So glad I stopped by. It was a very nice experience. The employee working the counter was very nice. She answered all of my questions. Great atmosphere. What I ordered: * Ube Coffee (1/2 sweet) * Strawberry Banana Croffle My coffee was DELICIOUS. Vietnamese coffee, crushed ice, & ube foam. YUMMY. I especially like it that you are able to modify your Vietnamese coffee. A lot of places have theirs already pre-sweetened. Their croffles are made fresh. That was a very nice treat. I will need to bring the hubby next time. He really missed out.... LOL.

The egg coffee was well balanced with a good amount of sweetness. The egg foam on top made this Vietnamese coffee tasty and definitely gave me the caffeine that I needed. Service was good and this coffee shop had plenty of seating. It is located in a strip mall with plenty of parking which is a plus.

I highly recommend this place!! The coffee and the egg coffee are very good and truly enjoyed them. The caffeine in these coffees is strong. The service was quick and friendly. This is a good sit down coffee shop for chatting and/or working. I would go back to this coffee place!!

I ordered the matcha latte with oat milk, regular sweet, and less ice. The matcha flavor was actually pretty good, but it wasn't mixed very well and was super grainy. Every sip felt chalky and irritated my throat, so I ended up giving the drink to my husband after a few sips. He didn't seem to mind it though. I also wasn't a fan of the nugget ice since it melted really fast and watered down the drink. I personally prefer larger ice cubes that last longer. Another negative is I ordered ahead online, but my husband still had to wait quite a while. They also accidentally gave my husband another matcha latte drink with whole milk instead of oat milk the first time, so that added to the wait. Plus side is the shop is in the same plaza as K Sandwiches and Wushiland, and parking was easy. Overall, not the best first experience, but the matcha flavor itself was good, so I'd probably give them another try and hope it was just an off day.

The coffee here was pretty good. Loved the indoor seating and was dog friendly. The beef croissant was just ok. Not too much flavor and it maybe I just prefer a plain croissant. Cute little shop. Id get the coffee but probably not the croissant.

I was so excited to see a new Vietnamese cafe open up!! Smaller spot, but cute, clean aesthetic! We tried the sea salt coffee (sea salt foam with vietnamese coffee,) coconut matcha (coconut water, matcha foam, boba) and glazed croffle. Drinks were definitely strong - you'll be feeling it!! I also appreciated that the drinks weren't overly sweet like a lot of vietnamese coffees are - so if that's what you're used to, request em to modify! You can easily adjust ice and sweetness levels so you can have your perfect drink (: The croffle wasn't my favorite as I wasn't sure if it was glazed - I was expecting a crunchy/caramelized sugar exterior, but still decent. A croissant after all! The employees were all so kind and I'm excited to come back and try more!

Vietnamese coffee shops seem to be springing up more in the SD area. One of the latest is Drip Beans Coffee which is located in the Kearny Square of the Clairemont neighborhood where a poke shop used to operate. Parking in the shared lot can be hit or miss because of the businesses in the plaza that can draw large volumes of customers during meal times. The inside of the suite had about half a dozen small round tables for seating. Three menu screens hung high on the wall to the left of the service counter. Phin-dripped coffees were listed on the first screen, matcha and tea drinks were shown on the middle screen, and pastries (croissants/croffles/waffles) were on the last screen. Of the six matcha varieties, I picked the Strawberry Matcha Latte. Matcha, whole milk, and strawberry puree were the ingredients. The cup was layered from top to bottom in green, white and red to reflect the above contents. The puree was one of the fruitier strawberry layers I have tasted in this type of drink. The staff was pleasant despite being preoccupied with assembling orders. For the price and quality of my item, I gave a four star rating for my visit to Drip Beans Coffee.

This Vietnamese coffee place is located in the same parking lot as K Sandwiches. They feature Vietnamese coffee brewed by phin filter the traditional Vietnamese way. I got a large Vietnamese coffee, The lady asked if i wanted it 25%, i wasn't sure what that meant but I guess if she asked then thats how most people order it, so i just went with it. I got a large and it was nice and smooth, not too sweet and still had a good coffee flavor, so i guess 25% sweet was the way to go. The cup had a sticker that said regular ice and 25% sweet, so i guess i could order less ice, which would mean more coffee, so I'd order it that way less time. 25% sweet and half ice. I like that they have other options like salted foam, ube, foam and egg foam. I did wish they had coconut coffee which is a thing I'd get while i was in Vietnam. They also have non coffee options with fruit and matcha as well as pastries. There are a few tables inside and one outside. Service was quick and easy, theres lots of parking in the private lot that it shares with Rose Donuts and K Sandwiches.

I came here to have coffee while discussing work. It was my first time here and requested a meeting place that had easy parking. It wasn't too busy today around 10a. The place wasn't too full . There's one restroom in back. I didn't realize they had a self order ipad so I just placed order with cashier. They didn't have any cream to add to their straight black coffee so I just ordered it as-is (iced). I was surprised it was almost $7 for a 20oz serving . They call your order when it's ready for you to go to counter to pick up. The coffee tasted like standard strong ice coffee. I was hoping for a smoother taste especially for the premium price. The wifi also wasn't accessible so we couldn't use my laptop to discuss some things. Maybe I'd come back to try another coffee drink if i was nearby in the future.

Discovered this coffee shop after grabbing breakfast around the corner. I saw the grand opening banner so I made it a point to check them out. The eatery just opened two days prior and is modern and cozy. I ordered the Vietnamese ice coffee which was strong and flavorful just the way I like it. I love discovering small business, and this new Vietnamese coffee shop in Linda Vista is a winner! I had the breakfast combo consisting of a Vietnamese coffee and a croissant sandwich. You can choose from beef, chicken, or ham and cheese. I went with the beef for $10.99 plus tax. First of all, the croissant sandwich was quite tasty. The beef was tender, well seasoned and delicious. It came on a warm soft and crusty croissant, and with fresh tomatoes, cilantro, and lettuce. It was a delicious beef sandwich. The Vietnamese coffee was well made. It was strong yet smooth. I actually had it with no sugar but with just milk, and it was still great to drink. They offer a variety of tea and coffee based beverages. There is inside and outside seating available. The employees were very sweet and welcoming. There's a good amount of parking available. Great new spot in Linda Vista.

I hate to leave bad reviews however, I think customers feedback is needed for a business to grow. First time here, customer service was great, friendly and fast. On the other hand, drinks need improvement, I spent $10.54 before tip for my coffee today and I was beyond disappointed. Couldn't even taste the coffee even after I adjusted the sugar level to 25%. It was like I was sipping on a cup of milk. Instead of enjoying my coffee I couldn't help to think what a waste of money. read more

I was excited to see that a new coffee shop opened up near me. I've already been to it a couple of times. On my first visit I got the Matcha Coffee, which is a Vietnamese coffee with matcha foam. It was delicious! I loved their Vietnamese coffee. It was the perfect balance of sweet & bitter. I love that the base sweetness level of their drinks is 25% & if you want it sweeter, you can add more. The 25% was perfect for me. They also ask what level of ice (light, regular, extra) you want, which I always appreciate too. Unfortunately I wasn't a fan of their matcha foam, but it could've just been a bad batch that day. On that day I also ordered their strawberry banana croffle & it was so yummy! I took it to go & I was afraid it would get soggy by the time I ate it, but it was perfectly crispy when I finally got to taste it. The whipped cream melted a little, but it was still so good. There's a sweet glaze on the croffle that I really liked as well. On a different day I got the strawberry matcha & really I enjoyed it. I would definitely order it again. Overall, the drinks & food were delicious. The interior was cute & minimalist. And the staff were so helpful & friendly. I'm definitely going to come back to try other menu options. read more

For a place without an espresso machine, you'd expect the titular drip coffee to be solid. First of all, their drip coffee is priced premium, starting at $4.99 for a small black coffee. Steep. This type of coffee needs to stand out, you could make a black coffee at home for pennies on the dollar. After paying $6.50 for a larger size, I received a 20 oz cup of what could only be described as chemically-engineered hyper death tannins. The most bitter, astringent cup of coffee I have ever had. Easily. This is coming from a black coffee fan, a Vietnamese coffee fan. I'm no stranger to strong coffee. If you'll pardon my french, this was honestly disgusting. Currently sipping it diluted 50/50 with water from my Nalgene bottle. Morning ruined. read more

We were nearby and decided to try this place. Service was good and orders came out pretty fast. We got the marbled drip and the Vietnamese. Both were really good. I came here with my fiancé. He ordered the salted coffee and enjoyed it. I prefer espresso, so I didn't order a drink. They also have various matcha drinks. They offer toppings including rainbow jelly, coffee jelly, and clear boba. I personally would enjoy regular boba. The drink came out fairly quickly. Ambiance is pretty typical with seating. If you enjoy matcha or Vietnamese coffee, it could be worth a try. read more

I stopped by here to grab some coffee and had no idea that it was in the same plaza as K Sandwiches and Rose Donuts. I do like that they are open early so you could grab a coffee before heading to work. The staff here is super friendly and they have lots of coffee and options. I got their sea salt coffee and there was no line when I came in since it was early. I did like that you could customize your sweetness levels for the coffee. I got 0% sweetness since I don't like my drinks too sweet. I think I would have done 25% if I had not gotten the sea salt cream. Overall, it is a very cozy spot and I'd come back to try their other menu items. Parking in this plaza is pretty nice. I am not sure how crowded it gets on weekends or after work hours, but it definitely isn't bad in the mornings. read more

A friend recommended me to grab the matcha here, and I wish I would've went here sooner. The cruffle tasted amazing when it fresh hot, even in it soggy stage it's still amazing. I often look on yelp for coffee places and this one popped up! I seen the reviews and the most recent review was from 6 days ago and it was rated pretty well so I had to try. Parking is kind of in an impacted area so it may be hard to find parking. Walking in, the set up of the cafe was really nice. The lady at the counter was busy making coffee but said hello and she'd be right with us. We decided to use the self serve checkout. It was pretty straightforward and even when ordering on the self checkout, when we were finished ordering the lady still came over to make sure we were good. After that, the wait for the drink was about 4-5 minute wait time which was very short. When I tried the coffee let me tell you, I thought it was soooo AMAZING!!! The flavor of the coffee was strong, not bitter and just the right about of sweetness. The sea salt foam was delicious and even when I mixed it in, it was the perfect amount of salt too. The only downside is that there was a lot of ice in the drink so within a few sips it was gone (and I was so sad because I wanted more)! Overall I would say this is highly ranked in my all time favorite Vietnamese iced coffees and will definitely return. Can't wait to try their other flavors! read more

I'm so happy this cafe opened nearby! The ladies are so friendly and I felt immediately welcomed. I just so happened to be there on International Women's Day, so they offered me a discount which was amazing. I got the egg coffee and waffle. The texture of the waffle was incredible and I liked that the egg coffee wasn't too sweet. I can't wait to try more items on the menu next time. Plenty of outlets, some seating with tables, and the overall ambience is very light & sunny. Highly recommend! read more

The service was great and the inside was cute and clean. They were very friendly and their recommendations were really helpful. I got the ube matcha latte and really enjoyed the ube foam, it was the highlight of the drink and left me satisfied. Also small note: I like that their starting sweetness is listed as 25%, I don't usually go above 50% anyway so it was nice to know it wouldn't be too sweet either way. read more

I've been waiting for a coffee/matcha place with fun latte flavors to open in the neighborhood and this place did not disappoint! I got the strawberry matcha and ham & cheese croissant. The menu is quite extensive with all things coffee but consider checking their online menus as I found items like their double cappuccino that wasn't advertised on their physical menus. I did end up getting the double cappuccino and it was delicious and came out hot with just enough foam to add volume to each sip.
