There are mountains for climbing, woods for hiking, a nearby ski lodge for ski enthusiasts, delightful shopping opportunities in the nearby towns of Boone and Blowing Rock as well as excellent venues for dining and possibilities for exploring. Each bedroom in the two story lodge has a feeling of privacy as well as a unique ambiance. Anne has gone to great lengths to make every room unusual and to make every guest feel special. One feels relaxed and at ease as soon as one enter the front door of the Lodge. This was my third trip to Carolina Mountain Lodge, and I look forward to many more. I love waking up to the cool mountain breeze and the smell of freshly brewed coffee and breakfasting on fresh eggs from Anne's happy chickens. I enjoy exploring the quaint mountains towns and seeing the panoramic views from the mountain top. I love having cocktails at dusk on Anne's tranquil patio and sleeping peacefully in a big, comfy bed. She made what can be a complicated process a breeze. I couldn't recommend Dusty more highly. I posted this on Dusty Washburn's professional Facebook page just after she helped us with our property purchase in Blowing Rock/Boone. I'm posting it now on Yelp because we just sold our home in a different part of the state with a realtor there. What a different experience. Details were overlooked, our requests were ignored, the "professionals" recommended to help with painting and due diligence items turned out to be personal friends of the realtor and were, well, not good. That experience made me "reappreciate" Dusty's professionalism and expertise all over.

We came at a time both the spa and free continental breakfast are not being offered but the bar was able to accommodate us for cocktails in the evening and we did get to have dinner one night in the inn's restaurant. Parking was easy outside and no issues staying warm during the winter storm from our room. Only feedback that is important to note, the walls are thin so if you're a light sleeper it could be tough with noises from rooms adjacent or noise in the hall.

Brad and his team are the kind of people you hope to find when you travel. From the start, everything was easy, efficient, and stress-free. The equipment was in great condition, the pricing was very fair, and the location between both mountains made everything so convenient. What really set them apart was how they treated us. We didn't feel like tourists just passing through. They welcomed us like family, took the time to make sure everything was just right, and genuinely cared about our experience. After dealing with the usual hassle of resort rentals in the past, this was a completely different experience in the best way. We had such a great time on our first trip that my husband and son actually went back again a month later and rented from them again. That alone says everything. There are  just a few miles from skiing at Sugar Mountain and Beach Mountain, plus surrounded by lots of other things to do. Pottery,  trout fishing, gem mining, tubing, wineries, and lots of great restaurants! This place has three sleeping areas up to 4 adults and 4 kids. The top floor is a queen bedroom loft, with a half bath. The main floor is a nice size living room with a kitchen open floor plan and a full bath. Down below halfway down the stairs is a washer and dryer (laundry area) and at the bottom of the stairs are 2 bedrooms. one with a king-size bed and one with 2 sets of bunk beds for 4 kids and a full bathroom. Full house Central Air and heating. Parking for at least 2 cars out front and additional spots at the club house. Access to the tennis courts, pool, and hiking trails with lots of open space in the area. You can also bring fishing equipment and fish on the Watauga River that runs through the community. Real clean and a gem of a place!

On a recent trip to North Carolina, I stayed here and wasn't sure what to expect because it was small and new. Many times, new businesses aren't up to the standards of well-established places, but not true with Banner Haven. It was 5-star service with beautiful grounds and a spectacular property. We spent a great deal of time on the phone and email and when the dust settled, we rented one of their cabins and, through their own recommendation, one of their competitors' nearby cabins to fit our large group. On top of this, they recommended us two restaurants (Yelp! review coming soon...) and our loding accomodations were both perfect. Blue Ridge For Rent has a "go straight to the house" to get the keys policy, which saved us time, unlike the last trip we took, and their booking system and check-out instructions were simple. No complaints and would recommend to everyone!
