NO Stars!!! You will want to read! I have been waiting to…read morewrite this review since I was so embarrassed to have even stayed here, but here it is. A group of friends and I visited on New Years to enjoy a mountain ski trip, which turned into a living nightmare. Since it was New Years I am sure you can imagine what other options we had, so we ended up buying a blow up mattress. The worst experience ever! I could talk for hours about how horrible our "chalet rental" was but I'll sum it up and let my pictures talk for themselves. This place was absolutely disgusting. From the moment we walked in you could see dirt everywhere. There was BLOOD on the comforter in one of the bedrooms and when asked to get a new one they returned it a second time with the same blood stains on it! The carpet and couch upstairs smelled like pee, there was "mud" coming out of the downstairs pull out couch, the lights in another bedroom did not work, and there was mildew in the upstairs bathroom carpet. I will never ever recommend this place, nor will I be back. The health inspectors should examine this business and how it is run. Really they should shut them down. No refund or anything was given. Again just check out the photos. I wish I would have taken more of this junk of a place.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. My family and I were lucky enough to go to…read morethis beautiful gem last summer and it was simply divine! Most people think to go to the beaches in the summer, and I would have agreed prior to this trip, but now I'm a summer mountain convert! :) First of all, the house is so roomy and cozy for a big family...we were able to fit all 10 of us without any problem. Yes, the house is a bit of a trek to get to, (it is on TOP of a mountain afterall!) but once you are there, it is heavenly. The summer breeze was a perfect escape from the humidity that usually is the norm, and the stars at night were so unbelievable. We spent the days taking long walks, reading/napping in the hammock, doing yoga on the deck, and the kids were playing soccer in the yard. The nights were spent on the porch in rocking chairs with wine, laughter, and a wonderful hot tub to soak away the day. The owners were great to deal with and I would recommend this place to anyone. It's definitely the perfect place to relax and unwind if that's the kind of vacation you are looking for! Now, that being said I know there are a ton of things to do nearby from ziplining, hiking to even mining for gold but again, we didn't really want to leave once we got up to the house. Did I mention the views...GORGEOUS! Can't wait to go back this summer! And, I'm not a huge snow/ski person but I imagine its a true winter wonderland in the colder months.

The Getaway was the perfect getaway for us. The location was private yet convenient to downtown and…read morewe found ourselves enjoying the Greenway trail into town many times. The cabin had every amenity we could of asked for (OK...a hot tub on the deck would have been nice) and we felt so comfortable from the minute we got there. The living room fireplace was amazing and we had it on constantly. The living room was comfortable and large. The kitchen was a bit small for both of us to work in but it was more than adequate. Both bedrooms were lovely (the king sized bed was super comfortable) and there were plenty of bathrooms to pick from. The sheets and towels were plentiful and plush and it was nice to be able to do laundry. The driveway up to the house was something. Super steep and it made the returns from our walks a bit challenging. And we were glad that it didn't snow to have to tackle it in the ice. The internet was great for keeping up with work but it wasn't sufficient to be able to stream movies or television. But the choices on the satellite TV made up for it. We loved The Getaway and will definiteley be back!

I had the burger with Gouda cheese and bacon, it was messy but tasty, and the onion rings were perfecto! Tyler was our server and it was his first day- very personable and friendly. The servers that were passing around h'orderves were often standing around and talked amongst themselves. Towards the end of the night I saw about 6 of them sitting down next to the dance floor. I found the staff here to be quite unprofessional. However, they were all very nice. That is not the reason people come here to have a wedding reception. People come to this mile high destination for the views. When you first come through the front door, you see right through the beautiful building to the spectacular view that this gem has to offer. Windows surround the back of the building which leads out to massive balcony. The sense of euphoria of being in the town that has the highest elevation on the east coast with spectacular views and fresh air is exactly where two young lovers should celebrate the vows they have just given to each other. There are many vacation rentals and some hotels for people to stay at in the area. I recommend you get your guests a shuttle service so they do not have to drive. The roads are windy in this area. One problem with the building... It is long, most likely to maximize the views from the inside. The problem with this, is that it is difficult to hear the speeches being made from the middle if you are on the end. To this date Beech Mountain Club is the best place to have a wedding I have ever been to, and for that I give this place 5 stars.

What this truly is, it's a 4 Star restaurant with a small hotel attached to it…read more I've been coming to this hotel every summer for a number of years. And, it's become clear that they have given up on the hotel side of the business. During my last visit this summer 2019, my room was just awful. It faced the back door of the kitchen with all the associated noises and odors. There was a vibration coming from below which shook the entire room. There was no internet service and the TV used some weird cable subscription service which would come in and out. I called the manager and asked him to fix all of the above. He said "Internet has been in and out all week". And, " I thought I had this TV connected in this room." And "I don't know what that vibration is downstairs, it might stop later". I asked for a different room, (there were only two other cars in the parking lot besides mine, so, there were other rooms available), manager's answer was no. The room was already paid for, so I had no options. In the future I will choose one of the many vacation rentals (vrbo) available in the area. I would not recommend this hotel to my friends and family. Now that I have your attention. I'm going to speak to those of you who have a sports car like me. You are going to love the drive to this little town. North Carolina highways 181 and 221 through the Pisgah Forest is reminiscent of drive through the Alps in your 1964 Ferrari Daytona. The road is smooth and well maintained. So, put the top down on your Corvette, your Porsche, your M Class or your Mini and enjoy the drive.
