Alabama pulled pork at its best with a great vinegar based sauce. Our baseball team stopped here and everyone loved it.Great food, great service, great atmosphere.I have been to both locations in Montgomery and they are consistent.Highly recommended by The Working Man Review.

My dinner was amazing!!!!! The ribs and chicken tender and falling off the bone. My waitress was so sweet and attentive. I really appreciate that. The ambiance and music were relaxing and refreshing. I just loved my evening

Unsauced ribs, baked beans and potato salad. The ribs have absolutely no seasoning!!! So bland! I won't order from here again!

Use more seasonings on their meat. Not everyone wants sauce. Meat should taste good with and without bbq sauce!

This newish suburban location does the trick if you don't wish to head downtown for the classic Dreamland Ribs. Plenty of parking, covered outdoor seating. Fair and friendly service. My group included 4 who had never been to any Dreamland. They loved their rib plates, the various sides, especially the Mac and cheese. Didn't know what to do with the white loaf bread however! Another thought the pork sandwich was generous, moist and tasty. Another loved the pork stuffed baked potato--still a great bargain on the menu. They would have liked more local beers and one insisted on wine and appeared shocked at the meager choice. On the other hand I was shocked that the place even had wine!" Didn't seem right? I got the half rib plate and was generally satisfied with the smoke, the lean meat, and the taste. Not overwhelmed. I would always opt for the original Tuscaloosa location, but my group liked the choice, are every bite, and were happy. Three stars for me but 4 stars overall for the group.

We were the only group there, so service was great. But can't compare it to much. The potato was delicious, and the macaroni was okay. Cute bbq spot, I would return.

There was so much to like! Overall though the experience was great. You DO NOT get service like this up North. We didn't have to ask for a thing. She had eyes on the table and brought extra napkins, drinks, sauces, etc before we ran out every single time. The only reason for 4 stars was that I felt the ribs were lacking meat really. It just wasn't what I was used to. It happens! However, the ribs were HUGE. Would we go back? Absolutely! This place is in my books as a must visit when I'm in the area. The fixin's were so good I could have a meal off of those alone.

I'm not going to lie, we almost walked out and didn't look back, but it's a good thing we didn't. From the time we sat down it was about 30 minutes until our server came back to get our drink & food order (to be fair, she did bring us waters immediately. Apparently their new point of sales/service system is complicated. The okra is crispy. The slaw isn't too sweet and tastes like it's freshly made the day it's served to you (so you know it's not soggy). The smoke ring is noticeable on the pulled pork, something that's not always present at newer BBQ restaurants. Their sauce has a very complex dimension: tangy, spicy, smokey. If you can be patient with their slow-ish methods, then your tastebuds will enjoy some yummy grub.

Somebody Dream g if they think is barbecuing. Absolutely CRAP. NICE LOOKING PLACE nice service. This Food taste like Cambodian dog Ish. NEVER AGAIN I would post a pic but you step in some Ish and it would be the same trash. I tried to post with no stars it wouldn't let me. So for the star I can say the place was Clean

Dreamland is home to my FAVORITE bbq nachos! We ordered some to go while in town overnight and they were so good! I love that the meat is in chunks and not shredded. It was perfectly seasoned (as always) with ample cheese and they let you dress it yourself (jalapeños, sour cream, etc). It was so good!

By the time you get up there to pay and get your drink cup, the food is already coming up. I ordered the pull pork plate with 2 sides and a drink for $11! Can't beat that price. The fries came out hot, the pork was juicy, and the greens flavorful. Doesn't come with sauce on it but there's plenty of options on the dressing table to pick from. The only downside is the parking situation... it's insanity, with folks here in work trucks, cars, motorcycles, you name it. The line just to get in the door can be long, but the staff does a great job of getting people in & out within the time of their lunch break. Pack your patience & give them a try!

I know people throw out places like Texas, the Carolinas and Tennessee as barbecue meccas, but I stand by my claim that some of the best barbecue comes from the great state of Alabama and Fatman's is great proof of my claim. I walked in and there was a line, but it moved fast and the helpless taking our our orders were friendly. The inside is pretty much low on ambiance, but the food is the real star here. Since it was packed inside, I got my food to-go and ate at a nearby park. I had the pulled pork plate with camp stew and potato salad. Everything was absolutely wonderful. I would definitely recommend here and I give it five stars.

When we went there in 2021, it was fairly good. The older waitresses oozed the old south charm. And…read morethe food? It was like a good Southern family home cooking place. Now, I don't know what has happened since then, but something did. To begin with, the place always looked "used". It had been there a long time and that's expected but this time the chairs looked badly worn and the carpet was in need of help. But it looked clean over all. The workers were friendly but very busy. They had a teenage boy who seated us who was in need of some grooming. But he was polite, so we let it slide. The waitress was very casual and nice as well. But it looked like this one poor lady was handling the entire side of the place by herself. I can overlook all of the above if the food is good but... To begin with, I ordered the same meal I ate in 2021 and yes, I remembered it! As a turkey lover, I recalled it as a Thanksgiving kind of meal that I enjoyed which was why I ordered it again. It was billed on the menu as: Sliced turkey, stuffing, three sides and cranberry sauce. I could eat Thanksgiving 365! And that first time was like reliving Thanksgiving at Moms. Not this time. Aside from being out of broccoli (which limited the green sides down to green beans and/or collard greens- which I do not like) there was an issue with things not being as presented in the menu. The "stuffing" or "dressing" was a small heap of mushy something. It was thin, watery and bland. Horrible! The "sliced turkey" was fractured white meat of turkey, fractured so much that it seemed to meld into the mushy dressing. The two were undiscernable. And it, too, was bland. There was something they called turkey gravy but it was definitely a canned or otherwise prepackaged gravy: bright yellow in color and gloppy in texture. The mashed potatoes were fine, a little salty but fine, though I am not sure if they were homemade or from mix or what. The "green beans" were not what I had before. Before I had what, at worst, had been frozen green beans, though well-seasoned and cooked through. This time I was given Italian beans from a can that had no flavor to them. And then there was the mac n cheese. The test of a good Mom and Pop place is the M&C and this batch failed. Over cooked elbow macaroni in a non-saucy glob of light orange gunk that tasted like flour and not cheesy at all. If that sounds bad, worse was the pie. They used to serve cake and some damn good cake, too! But we were told today they serve pies. I ordered the lemon meringue. I make lemon meringue pie so I know fully well what one should taste and look like and this was NOT it! The fill looked like leftover banana pudding with the bananas extracted. It wasn't set and the meringue slid off of it. The meringue itself had a wateriness that I couldn't quite figure out but it was lightly toasted on top. The corn muffins were good, though they could have gone without being dunked in butter. Over all, I cannot give this place the report I would have liked to have given a landmark in Montgomery. Its sad, too.

The two meat came with another side so chose the broccoli casserole. Had I come on the day when the fried green tomatoes or fried okra were the option, I definitely would have swapped out the broccoli casserole. Generous portions and I easily could have split this meal with someone. They definitely know southern cooking here. It's not a fancy place by any means, just good cooking. Our server seemed a bit tired or put out, I couldn't tell which thus the 4 stars. I did go later afternoon following the lunch rush so that could have been the issue.
