The sole proprietor of this company, David L. intentionally hides behind this "LLC" designation so…read morethat when he steals your money, and your last resort is legal action, he can claim he is not the owner of the company and that any suit against him will be dismissed by the courts. In addition to Amesbury Glass & Mirror he operates a dozen websites under the phony umbrella of the "Superior Companies," (www.thesuperiorcompanies.com) all of which have the same mailing and physical address. PO Box 985 in N. Hampton, NH and 25 Oakland St, Amesbury, MA. None of which are licensed in either state or registered in WY, as claimed on his website. When I hired him to replace an exterior door, install a gutter, and seal the underlying foundation it was via the website SuperiorDW.com (door/window). At that time I gave him a $1,000 deposit, approximately half of the total cost of the project. I waited 7+ weeks before terminating our agreement and filing a Small Claims suit, his total estimated time to complete was 2-3 weeks. During that period David was unable to even acquire the actual replacement door (which was just a standard size door, any home improvement store stocks them). And every time there was a pre-packaged excuse. "My guy called in sick." "I'm locked out of my office." "The hurricanes are making it impossible to get doors." He even lied about visiting my residence to "take more measurements" while I wasn't home. Then he lied again and said he talked to the "owner" of the company and that he had agreed to settle for an additional $248. In other words I could have the door dropped off, and literally nothing else for a grand total of $1,248. Now that I've won in court, his strategy to avoid collection is that of an ostrich. He's pretending to not receive the emails I send, or the notices from the court. These are just facts from my experience with David L. Please don't make the mistake I did, avoid this individual and his bogus companies at all costs.

Keep driving to Newburyport. I wanted to like these guys, I live nearby. I had used Merrimack Glass…read morein Newburyport previously and had a good experience, but these guys were much closer. Nothing was horrible, but everything was indifferent. It wasn't on time, then it wasn't ready the next day when it was supposed to be, then the mullions fell off the window right there in the store, so they replaced the mullions with foam tape instead of finding and replacing the missing metal clip from when they reassembled the window. Then I noticed that when they replaced the mullions on the other side, they couldn't be bothered to scrape off the old foam tape, so you can see old dirty adhesive foam tape on the back of the exterior mullions when you look through the window. Oh and the actuating arms (casement window) were carelessly bent. And of course they couldn't be bothered to clean the new window or frame before they gave it back to me, so it was covered with shop grime. Go here only if you have no self respect.
