Based the past reviews, it sounds like this Dream Tea locations has made some major improvements over the years. My experience has been pretty positive overall. Service is always prompt and I've never had any issues with my orders. The thing that sets Dream Tea above most other bubble tea places in Edmonton is their great variety and their fresh fruit options. They make the best avocado smoothie in town. My current favourite is the avocado colada. The space isn't the fanciest but it has plenty of places to sit and would be a great place for a student to hang out and work. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. I ordered from them twice and they're sending me the wrong thing. The first one I ordered a blueberry single flavour bubble tea with mango popping boba. It's supposed to be bright blue. They send me some purple drink with tapioca. When I reordered, I specified no tapioca and even tried ordering a different drink entirely. I ordered a slush. What did I recieve? Another smoothie. The only change they followed was no tapioca but the smoothie looks absolutely atrocious while every other smoothie I've recieved never looked like this including the second one of the same kind that was in the same damn order. Brought the fam jam for a special treat out. Unfortunately, they were out of sago bubbles and didn't have 1/2 of the other stuff we asked for. Pretty disappointed given that this is a bubble tea house and you are paying a premium for a drink. My fave here out of our group was the Earl Grey Salted Milk Top. The yogurt bubbles were okay... I think it would have been much better with sago. The inside is bright with numerous seating options and they've got a little shelf with games (though it was empty when we were there). They do offer a few snack food options - thought there was signage over some pics saying "not offered at this location." Um, then why have the picture and the sign? Also, be prepared to wait here. People were lined up out the door when we were leaving about 10pm. Someone commented that they waited about 30 minutes and I was like uh-oh, I hope they are okay with being out of sago bubbles :-( Can't say I'd make it a priority to come back here given the fact that there are at least a dozen other options in town for bubble tea. read more

You can't go wrong with Dream Tea. I've always had a 5/5 experience at this location. My favourite boba here is the "Dream" (fitting)! It is a mixture of Taro and Coconut with tapioca pearls and lychee jelly. If that doesn't get you going I don't know what will, seriously. Its amazing. The boba is always pretty big as well - don't worry I always finish it. Service is great and the boba is usually ready really fast. I find if you come around 3PM it's usually not too busy. I've found it to be very busy during about 5 PM. There is a seating area and they also serve some snacks like fries and onion rings if you feel like staying. I often see people here just hanging out. One thing that I noticed recently that I really loved was that they've moved towards more sustainable straws! I thought this was awesome. I've never seen this at any other place before, so I'm happy to support Dream Tea if they're making an effort to be more eco-conscious! :) read more

Dream Tea House has FOUR locations now? Seriously, whyyyyyyyy. Located in the sadly departed digs of Bistro Saison (RIP you rare French bistro), they've done some renovations but randomly kept the Eiffel tower mirage. I was wondering why there was French inspired design on the walls but don't worry, it all makes sense now. The inside is pretty spacious compared to most bubble tea places in town. Quite modern and clean looking with a few booths and tables set up. I should probably confess that I've never been a big fan of Dream Tea even though they've been around for years. Mediocre and overrated in my books. But after going out for dinner with the 'ol squash team, we got screwed trying to go to Dessert Island(their hours aren't the best - queue sad face) so we weren't left with many alternatives for a late night hang out. The Oliver Square location has a hugeeeeeee menu. But seriously, what's with the prices? It's almost $7 for a fresh fruit bubble tea. That's just absurd. - 2x Dream, mango tango, red bean and cap tea ($5.25 each) - let's see, two of my buds went with the Dream (taro mixed with coconut) which comes with tapioca and lychee jelly. I went with the mango tango (mango and pineapple) and subbed for grass jelly. Red bean is pretty straightforward and cap tea is a new item on their menu (dare I say copying Gama Café). My bubble tea was pretty meh. Like I said, it's pretty sad that there's no one in town that can make a quality BBT. Business opportunity?! - Taiwanese chicken bento box ($10.99) - came with rice, salad, Taiwanese chicken, and yam fries. The chicken was lightly seasoned and surprisingly done well. Salad was as my friend put it, a bunch of lettuce pieces. Pretty sad effort there. Yam fries were okay but could have used more time in the deep fryer. But hey, who comes for real food at a bubble tea shop? Grab as a snack only. Honestly, quality bubble tea just doesn't exist in Edmonton. Do yourself a favour and skip out on Dream Tea's. I have never been able to make it in person to this location of Dream Tea House, but I am so glad they now have delivery. The delivery took about an hour, but that was an accurate estimate according to Skip the Dishes. My drinks arrived safe and sound, cold and delicious. My favourite drink here is the signature Dream, with taro and coconut mixed with lychee jelly and tapioca. It's a refreshing, flavourful treat. I also ordered a basic milk tea with pearls and an iced coffee with condensed milk (basically, a Vietnamese coffee without having to wait for the drip, already mixed). Prices are reasonable for the size you get, and if you're willing to wait, definitely worth it. read more

I'm getting right into bubble tea! Each time I order a different flavour because I'm trying to find my favourite. This time I tried avocado and it's by far the best I've had. So filling and yummy! The avocado is sweetened just the right amount and the tapioca balls were fresh and chewy. I ordered my 2 year old her first bubble tea, the mango flavour. She thought getting the balls was a funny game and enjoyed it. My hubby tried the butter beer bubble tea. This one was too sweet for me, but he was happy with his choice. The place itself was quite aside from our table playing games, chatting and enjoying our beverages. We also ordered two portions of fries which they put into one basket. The portions were small but it was only a dollar when you order a bubble tea on a Tuesday to add fries to your order. Quite a good deal actually. So far tastiest bubble tea for me, the decor wasn't much to write about although I did appreciate the couple of sofas they had for chilling with groups. When you park outside you need to remember to add your licence plate to the digital tracker they have at the cashier. Otherwise you'll get a ticket. I'll defo be back to try more! read more

I am not a fan of bubble tea, but I was introduced to Dream Tea by a friend, who very much likes their Green Onion Cakes. She asked me to stop by to pick up an order to add to a dinner menu. That was a Sunday, about 5:30PM, and the place was not very busy. I waited in line for about 10 minutes while the counter staff muddled through the ordering process, which gave me time to peruse the menu, which is surprisingly large for a tea shop. I determined to come back and try some of the food at a future date. I eventually ordered and received my G.O. cakes, and they were well cooked and tasty. This simple transaction took about 20 minutes in total. Fast forward to yesterday, I was in Oliver and considering a bite and a coffee. I recalled Dream Tea had a large coffee menu, and figured I would try a couple of dishes and a Latte. I went in at about 2 PM and the place was busy and loud, with a lot of backpacks and electronics. It appears to be popular with the McEwan crowd. I got in the long line-up to the counter, which again gave me an opportunity to check out the menu. I decided on Shrimp Tempura ($5.95) and Spring Rolls ($3.95) As step by painful step I inched my way to the front of the line, it became apparent that a new counter person was being trained, and more attention was being paid to said training than to the growing line. When I reached the counter I placed my order only to be told, "No spring rolls..." I said, "Fine. Just the tempura and the Latte, please. The coffee order seemed to have them confused and flustered and I got the impression they do not sell much coffee. I was given a pager disk, and found myself an empty booth. The Shrimp Tempura came in good order, with 5 pieces served in a small fry basket, with dipping sauce. The portion size was decent and worth the price. Still no sign of my Latte... When I got called for my coffee, I went up to the counter to get it, but could not find a spot with sugar, and napkins, etc. When I asked I was told, "No sugar..." They offered to get me some in the kitchen, but my notion that they serve little coffee was supported. I said,"That's ok." and returned to my table. The tempura was tasty and enjoyable and helped fill the gap. My Latte was well made and as good as most, sugar not withstanding. This is a nice little place, though you can tell that there was not much investment, as one whole wall is a mural of Paris, left over from the ill fated French Bistro that preceded Dream Tea. One also gets the impression that the owners/operators do not have much restaurant experience. There is no flow or efficiency in their system, with the exception of the kitchen. Both dishes I have eaten were quite good, but the ordering and expediting needs much work. The staff, however inefficient, were pleasant and helpful and the place was clean. We visited this Dream Tea house location after sushi dinner and a walk around the area. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had expanded their menu. Atmosphere: 3.5/5 Overall pleasant atmosphere. It was not too busy or loud; overall clean. We didn't stay too long as we decided to take our drinks out to walk around the area. Good location and adequate parking. Food / drink: 3.5/5 I was happy to see that they had expanded their milk tea menu to include types of tea other than the standard original black and green tea. This time, I decided on the Jasmine milk tea with tapioca but no sugar. The drink turned out milkier than I thought and was almost white, but was quite good. Tapioca was ok. Ordered the dream bubble tea that consisted of coconut and taro with lychee jelly and tapioca. The drink was okay. That tapioca pearls are some of the worse I have tried in a long time. I usually do not get pearls but this time I figured I would get some. They were chewy in the undercooked sort of way. They were just bad and not edible. We also stopped by at 10:30 pm as a group. The staff were very prompt to turn off the lights and stop the music right at 11 pm when there was still a crowd in the store. This tea shop is in Oliver Village and it's a great place to meet friends for a drink and snack! I came mid afternoon on a weekday and the place had 4 tables and booths occupied. I liked how they have booths to the right and one in the front. The rest are tables and chairs and in the back is couch seating. I sat down and waited for my friend and was approached quickly by a server with a menu. She came back shortly to take my order. I wasn't expected table service! The menu has pages and pages of drinks. On the last pages are the food options which are mainly fried snacks such as green onion cakes, fries, and spring rolls. Since I can't have milk, I appreciated they can substitute soy milk or have other fruit options with no milk. When I decided, I went up to the counter to order and pay for my bubble tea. A minute or two later my drink came to the table with a container of straws so I could pick which colour I wanted. My friend came shortly after and ordered her drink at the table. When it was time to leave, she went to the cash register to pay. I liked the atmosphere with the booths, and the comfort of the place. I first tried Dream Tea at WEM and really enjoyed it so you could imagine my delight when I was wandering around in Oliver Square and found this location. My first impressions as I was stepping in the door were good. They have a really clean and modern seating area. The staff were also really friendly. The girl that helped me out at the till was literally beaming with enthusiasm and was just delightful to talk to. She recommended I try the fresh fruit option instead of the powdered concoction when I ordered my watermelon bubble tea and I was so glad that I did as I found it really refreshing. I opted to take it out with me instead of staying as the place seemed pretty busy with tables of students from Macewan so that might be something one would want to consider when deciding what time of day to visit this location. They serve a great product and I got excellent customer service so I gladly give them five stars and look forward to my next visit. read more

I love dream tea house! They hands down make the best fresh fruit bubble teas in YEG, and their tapioca is always fresh! But of all they locations I'm not such a fan of this one. Their booths are clearly made Tony people. You know, the tiny people that frequent this place. Not 6 foot tall me lol. But seriously I doubt they will care because this place definiteof gets most of it's business from Asians. The only game they had was Jenga! No other games. This is a really nice location. Very nice inside with booths and a mural on the wall and a fireplace. They have the usual favors and food that the other dream tea places have. I always enjoy the avocado or taro bubble tea. I have also had the shave ice which is a yummy treat that you get to pick toppings for: favors, tapioca, lychee, etc. One thing I wish they had was options for milk other than dairy or soy. This one is nicer inside than any of the others so I would recommend it for a date night or a group! read more

The girlfriend and I have ordered here a number of times, mostly off Skip the Dishes. The bubble-tea is the best I've had in Edmonton, though I am by no means an expert. Interesting flavours with nice soft/chewy tapioca and tasty gummies. The green onion cakes are quite good too, though they seem to skimp on the chilli sauce - providing only a small cup for a double order. We ordered the Taiwanese Fried Chicken as well, which was extremely tasty, but unlike any other fried chicken I've had. Heavily spiced (5-Spice?) and cut into boneless strips. Quite tasty. The sticky rice was good as well. I would give them 4 stars, but they lost a star due to some surly service when we visited in-store as well as having a charge to use the ATM which I believe is illegal in Alberta read more

I was very disappointed with my experience here. I had the Dream bubble tea with Taro and coconut and tapioca. Didn't taste much of taro or coconut. My friend and I ordered the curry fish balls and deep fried french toast. The fish balls $3.99 were drenched in this congeal curry sauce which actually did not look that appetizing and it tasted even worse. The deep fried french toast $3.99 had peanut butter in the middle and we ordered a side of condensed milk for $0.75. I do have to say there was a unique taste to the french toast and I actually liked it for the peanut butter but for how much it cost, not next time! I found the Parsian decor theme a little tacky. Having random basket of flowers attached to the wall is really poor taste. read more

I had been here once before and had an okay experience but this most recent was not so good. The people behind the counter all seemed to be in a bad mood and were working very slowly. I expect bubble tea to take a little longer to prepare so I was ready to wait but it took almost 30 minutes for me to get mine and I was made late for an appointment because of it. After 25 minutes I asked if mine would be coming up soon, the girl looked at the order board and then yelled something to her colleague, I feel like my order had been forgotten about even though she kept looking at me waiting. I picked my kid up from day care early on his birthday and asked what we should do for a special birthday treat. His reply? "Bubble tea!!" And since our usual bubble tea place was closed, we headed to Dream Tea House. They have an extensive menu of bubble teas and food items. My son got a strawberry-mango, while I got an avocado. Both were pretty standardly yummy - nothing special, but good. The guy taking our order also informed us that the Tuesday special was fries for a buck. So, we got fries, too. And they were the true stand-out of the afternoon. perfectly crisp on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. A delightful surprise as I wasn't expecting such amazing fries at a bubble tea place. Seriously, who would've thought that some of the best fries in town would be there? But they really are outstanding. In fact, those fries alone take them up a star. I will certainly go again, and likely on a Tuesday. A lot of people seem to enjoy going here for bubble tea and to hang with friends, and honestly this is a good spot to relax and have fun. I come here from time to time as my friends love bubble tea and this is one their favourite spots. I've tried one of their bubble teas, a few food items, and their shaved ice. The only thing that I found to be decent was the bubble teas. The food and shaved ice was a let down. I tried the fish balls, fried chicken, and fries and they are not that great. Although, I did like the bubble tea, it isn't the best or the worst, but still good. I forgot to mention that they have games here that you can play with your friends. (Jenga, etc) read more

THE WORST SERVICE EVER. I would like to first point out that this review is based off of one experience out of many at this specific location. I came here yesterday, February 3, 2016 around 8:30pm, with two of my friends after the gym hoping to grab a bubble tea and a snack. We sat down at a table and waited for the lady to hand us menus as usual. I'm not sure if they don't serve customers at their tables at that time, but it was clearly not busy and the lady saw us come in. We waited a good 5 minutes and decided to just get up to grab the menus ourselves since we really wanted to order our drinks and food. The first thing that set us off was when we went to go order and pay for our drinks. The several times that I have been there, they don't charge for substitutions (even says on their menu). We went up to the front and a guy with a green beanie and glasses took our order. I ordered my regular Oreo Chillato w/o lychee jelly and substituted it for grass jelly. He charged me $1.00 extra for the substitution which came up to $6.30. My two friends ordered the 1437 and asked to substitute one of them for mango jelly instead of sago. It came up to OVER $7.00 for that one drink. When my friend looked at the cashier funny, he bluntly said there's a fee for using the debit machine (which she knew about). When she paid, the debit fee came up ON TOP of the $7.00 drink. Secondly, the wait took FOREVER for THREE drinks. We had ordered right after a group of people with about 8 orders. We knew it might take awhile since they were a big group which we totally understood since they ordered before us. Keep in mind, it was NOT BUSY when we ordered. We sat down to wait and a few people came in. Within 10 minutes of ordering, the group of people received their drinks and left. We assumed our drinks would come out next since we ordered right after them. NOPE. One after another, we saw the people that came in when we sat down, order, get their drinks and leave. We had ordered food so I hoped that they were just bringing out the food with the drinks though thats not usually the case. NOPE AGAIN. EVERYONE that had walked in after we ordered had left with their drinks and we were STILL WAITING for ours. Thirdly, after waiting OVER THIRTY MINUTES for our three drinks and fries, the guy finally gave us our order with ZERO acknowledgement of how long we waited. When he gave us our drinks, he told us that one of the drinks only had mango jelly (substituted drink). We were already not having it since we waited THAT LONG but to say that the drink he charged us extra for had only mango jelly?!? My friend ask again and he claimed that there was mango and lychee jelly in it after he said there was only mango. I know you might be reading this and be thinkin "What a first world problem" but honestly, bubble tea is one of my favourite places to go with my friends and this experience has me question whether I'd to go here over other places. Dream Tea, for me, is a dream come true. (If you're looking for the americanized bubble tea) My favourite flavours are Taro, Dream (taro+coconut), Oreo Dream (Oreo+Taro) all with pearls and/or coconut jelly. My top flavour is probably Jackfruit. My only complaint about this location is that they don't have real pudding, only pudding flavour? What even is pudding flavour? read more

I ordered the Real Fruit Lychee Bubble Tea w/ tapioca while my mother ordered the RF Avocado Bubble Tea. My drink was super watered down and the bottom half was pure shaved ice. The lady almost got away with $10 until my mother caught her. She also gave my stamp card to another customer. The man that came in after us also got his order messed up. This has to be one of the saddest Dream Tea locations I've been to. read more
