I went to Cindy for a no-chip manicure and a pedicure. She was great and the service was very reasonably priced. Way less than other neighborhood salons. I also appreciate that they talk to you, not around you to other staff members that you can't understand. The salon is very clean and bright. There is also ample parking. I will be back! read more

I have lived less than 2 blocks from this location for over 3 years. I came for the first time about 9 months ago and had an awful experience. I just wanted my eyebrows waxed and while my eyes were closed, the technician said I should get my lips waxed also. I had never had them waxed and didn't want to start that process. She put the wax on my lip before I had even opened my eyes. I had also mentioned when I walked in that I wasn't getting my nails done because I was low on cash. I told her I never said okay to lips and how much was she going to charge me for the lips now and she said sorry and she wouldn't charge me for it this time. I told myself I wouldn't come back. My eyebrows weren't cleaned up and I had to pluck them more when I got home. However they just announced new management so I wanted to try it again. I went today hoping to just get lips and eyebrows waxed. She again asked me why I wasn't doing nails and I said because I didn't have the money for that right now. During the wax, she commented on how overgrown my eyebrows were, which she had done last time too. She got wax all over my face and actual lips and AGAIN, without asking, decided to put wax on my CHIN. I never asked for that and asked her why she put wax on my chin. She said "so you'll look beautiful." I asked how much that would be and told her she never asked me. I brought up again "You did this to me last time and just waxed my face without my consent." She apologized and said it's five dollars but will be free this time. She did minimal cleanup of my eyebrows and I had to pluck them when I got home. I mentioned before sitting up that I could still feel wax all over my lips and she said she couldn't see it, but wiped them off. I had to clean my face off when I got home. On my way out she gave me a boxed lotion and thanked me for coming in. The entire time I was there, employees in the main area were talking with a customer about how great their new management was. I'm very disappointed with this one technician, I believe her name is Cindy. I have heard mixed things about nails but all I can say is DONT go here for waxes. Very disappointed. read more

I have been going here for years and I love the sisters Flor and Anna. They both give me the best no-chip manicure and pedicure. Great neighborhood nail salon with good prices. Under new management so prices did go up but I will stay faithful to the sisters because they are good. read more

If I didn't have to give one star I wouldn't! Some rude little lady didn't sanitize her products. When I asked her if they were clean she got offended and became sarcastic. Every time she started using a different tool she would say "is this clean?" Like that's your job ma'am. I said I just wanted to address a situation that's all. She kept doing it anyway and I didn't even finish my nails. I HAD to leave. Don't go if you want to feel like a bother asking for good service. Plus the blasting of Asian tv and overkill on the incense... I see why there was only one employee there. read more

While very inexpensive, this rundown neighborhood nail "joint" ( I can't call it a salon) is simply not a pleasant experience if you're looking to relax. The sisters have no understanding or care of how annoying it is to have the tv blasting in another language, and to be practically screaming at each other in a different language in front of clients. Some clients watch videos loudly on their cellphones with no remarks from the owners. One sister understands few words in English- manicure or pedicure - and is impossible to converse with when the other sister is not there. This is very difficult when their credit card machine fails, or when you ask a question. The owner, the older sister, is often brash with clients, yelling answers which are difficult to understand because of the language barrier. This is not relaxing I after a long day at work. I give up on this place after being a longtime client. read more

Need a simple, inexpensive manicure and pedicure, then this is the place to go. It's not fancy, but the ladies get the job done. There can be some challenges with the language barrier, but it's never been an issue in receiving the services I want. I can appreciate a salon that still offers this service for only $30. read more

I walked in for a nail rescue. I'm not great at doing my own manicure and pedicure but I'm going to be at the wedding the next day. Dream Nails is within walking distance and therefore my first choice. I love my technician. When I asked her what the summer colors are, she directed me to a number of pretty pink, orange and blue colors. I decided to go with a bold fuchsia pink with details on some nails. I'm glad I did. Please raise your beautifully manicured hand if you like Dream Nails! *raises hand*. I go to Kathy for my nails. She is extremely down to earth and friendly. I am a fan of the no-chip manicure and she really takes her time paying attention to detail. The store itself is very clean and when you walk in, even when they are busy, they greet you. They give you a roundabouts time when they can get to you so you aren't sitting there without a clue. I really respect upfrontedness (not a word, I know) and I know they do hold conversations in Vietnamese, but for the quality of their work, its worth it. I have been to several places for pedicures. I like to keep my toes on point so I know when I get a good pedicure. They don't cut corners and rush it, again...attention to detail. I am a very happy customer and I would recommend this place to others. i really wished their prices would go down a bit, cmon is Jefferson Park, not the Gold coast! Ask for Kathy, but they are all great people with amazing skill. Til next mani/pedi!!!! read more

Is there a negative star? Walked in to this place to get a pedicure I didn't even need polish just looking for a little foot pampering. Ugh! Even though it's not expensive $20 , you still expect a decent experience I would say 10 min tops in a lukewarm bath furiously clipped and quickly scrubbed bam that was it. I wish i could give negative stats!!!!! Firstly my nails werent all shapped the same and are bigger on top than the bottom when i brought this to the ladies attention she told me it was my fault because i had fat fingers!!! She told me i had fat fingers about 11 times during the course of me getting a full set!! When i asked them to file them down or shape them better she said she couldnt!!! This was friday, today is tuesday and one nail has fallen off, one nail broke, and now 2 are loose! dont go here save youre time and money. The ladies are rude! This place sucks. Disclaimer: It's just my own personal pet peeve when i'm in a business of any kind (except maybe a restaurant) and the employees hold full conversations in a language other than english. Sorry, it just annoys the bejeezus out of me! On that note, I lived in this neighborhood for approximately 10 years and never really noticed this place until I found myself several cars behind at the oil change place and waiting with nothing to do. This review is based on the manicure I received only, and well, the saying you get what you pay for is extremely true in this instance. The manicure was only $10. That's right, $10. I'd probably say this was more of a 2 1/2 stars place, but the hand massage was ridiculously relaxing so we'll round up. The salon itself was clean, well-lit, and had a larger selection of colors to choose from than i'm used to. There was only one other customer in aside from myself, and my technician was a guy which was a nice change from the norm, or it could've been had he said more than 5 sentences to me. I wasn't feeling that chatty anyway Mr. Man. Things were pretty standard as far as a manicure goes, shape, file, buff, etc...only I noticed after I left that one of my nails wasn't shaped the same. Also, when the tech was putting on the clear coat, there was a little fuzzy bit trapped in the brush which promptly screwed up the polish on one nail. He tried to repair it, but it still doesn't look uniform. Maybe i'm just too anal-retentive? On the upside, I did some heavy duty cleaning yesterday and no chipping so Yay! That alone earned that extra half star from me. read more

This place is under new management and has new employees and I think that is exactly what it needed. They also did some light remodeling. I went in on a Saturday afternoon with an hour to get a manicure and pedicure and they were of so accommodating! They ladies all helped me out and did a wonderful job. And at $30 for both it was a steal of a deal. I will for sure be back! read more

If there was a way I can give this place a negative star I would. I have been in there a total of three times and all three times was a terrible experience .the management is atrocious. the first time the lady told me she couldn't do my nails the way I wanted them done because the nails have to come pre made that way which was a flat out lie. the second time she cut off half of my eyebrows and told me that I told her that was okay ,and the third time was today I went in and asked if I could get my nails cut down and she told me know because she doesn't know how to do that how are you a nail salon and you can't cut down nails!? read more

i came to dream nails after my usual place top nails last time had a man do my nails and my no chip manicure lasted very barely 2 weeks (can usually last like 3 weeks) and my manicure last seriously 2.5 weeks.. can at sometimes last for a mo. anyway.. i hated it. the ladies, no they don't speak english and thats fine but i was like late to come in so they decided one would do my feet and the other my nails.. and each of them kept like demanding me to keep this foot straight or give them that hand.. it was really annoying. typically i don't mind having that done at one time but they try to work so fast that i feel like they have no consideration for the client. i felt like the one lady i just couldn't give her the opposite foot fast enough. then i asked to have the massager on the back of the chair and she told me no because it ruins the paint on the foot. but for the many many years i have been getting these pedicures i always always use the chair and no one ever had a problem with me using the massager. i felt like the ladies ruined teh experience bc my neck was so sore. the positives to this place is that they are reasonably priced and they still do that discount card for when you get 6 pedicures you get 10 off the next one. i just didn't feel appreciation toward them wanting to throw me out. i did show up late in the day (nearer to closing) but people kept trailing in behind me so obviously i no longer would have been the cause of them closing late. i suppose whether or not i go back will depend upon how long my no chip stands and the pedicure polish as well. overall i just feel like its: ah.. nothing special. oh and ps.. probably the worst part was the massaging.. she didn't massage me at all.. so i feel completely jipped on that. further the lady didn't clean under my nails. its a little ridiculous to leave the nail salon and still have gunk underneath your nails. last time i was there was under the previous owners (i didn't realize they even got new owners) and it was better.. im not impressed. read more

I'm writing this review to totally counter review Miss W. below. Quite frankly, I've been customer for a few years at dream nails and have always walked out a happy camper. Granted some of their employees are more talented than others. I've had my nails done by most all of them. Again, never once have I been disappointed. There is a lady there by the name of Amy who is by far the best so if you call ahead make an appointment with her but I think you should be pleased with any of the work done at Dream Nails. The gentleman that good ole CW speaks of happens to not have the best English skills so I think that was the reason for the quietness. He has done my nails before and they were perfectly fine. As far as their speaking another language (WHO CARES!!!!) It's a nail salon not an English Class. I rarely write a review but the review written by CW was so off base I felt obliged.
