Been coming to this salon for years and they're always so kind and do a great job. The space is clean and bright. The pedicure massage chairs are comfortable. The women that work here are so so sweet. I've gotten serviced by most of them at this point and they're all do a good job. I usually will call ahead to schedule because sometimes I have to wait a bit if I don't call. But personally I've never waited more than 20min to be seen. Usually it's not even that long though. In terms of pricing I think they're a bit on the higher end but that's typical nowadays and they do a good job consistently so it's worth it. read more

First of all, I was told there would be a 5-20 minute wait, which I was fine with, but my friend got taken immediately and somehow finished her entire set while I was still waiting. After an hour, they told me to wait another 30 minutes, so I left and came back. When they finally took me, I asked for long coffin nails, but she cut them SHORT and started shaping them almond. I corrected her, but by then my nails were basically the length of someone who just discovered nail clippers. She then drilled my nails like she was trying to reach the Earth's core, and every nail ended up a different shape and length, with hardened acrylic all over my skin. I even told her about a cut on my hand and asked her to be gentle, and she nodded just to rub it so aggressively that my cut reopened. Overall, 10/10 if you're looking for a nail appointment that feels like a punishment. Would not return or recommend. Also this place gives off a dirty vibe and they don't clean their tools after using them on another client. Don't come here! read more

I was looking for a nail shop in Park Ridge area since I had about an hour to spare and was in a desperate need of nail services. There were so many choices but based on reviews and distance, I went with Nail Republic. I called during the day to see if they can take me in at 3:45 for a mani/pedicure. I was told to come in at 3:45. I arrived a little early around 3:40. I was told to pick a color and wait in the wait area, per usual at any place. Around 4, another customer that was also waiting asked me what time was my appointment. I told her mine was at 3:45. Hers was at 3:30 for a gel manicure. I asked if she had been there, which she responded yes. So I thought it must be good to wait... She waited 30 minutes for her appointment. I was is in need of nail service but didn't have time to go to another location, so I thought I'd wait. At 4:15, a girl walks in like she was late, and it turns out to be my nail technician. I initially told her I'd only do a pedicure since I have no time for a manicure. But she finished my pedicure job so fast in 15 minutes, I told her I'd do manicure. I should've known when a technician can finish a pedicure that fast, it probably wasn't the best job well done. I got the manicure anyway because I needed one. I paid extra for long lasting regular polish. It did last a week but after I took it off, my nails started breaking. I wouldn't return here and when I end up waiting that long, note to self, just leave. read more

First let me say I went there because my usual place is closed on Monday. I walked in and asked about a manicure & pedicure, was asked if I could wait or come back at 6:30. I came back at 6:30 and had to wait till after 7 before she started. The manicure was horrible and the pedicure was even worse, it looked like a 5 year old polished my nails, the polish was on my nails but also on the sides of each nail on my fingers and same thing on my toes. Also the polish was put on unevenly and it was lumpy and just plain awful. I will never go back there again, it was a complete waste of $50. I took the polish off as soon as I got home. read more

The man that works here should not be allowed to do this work. Within 5 minutes I had a vigorously bloody toe. I have been getting my nails done for 15+ years and never had that bad of a pedicure. It was complete in 15 minutes. Rushed, sloppy, and painful! Can't speak for the rest of the technicians but if you come, do not let the male tech do your service. read more

does me dirty everytime. michelle who i think is the manager or owner does an awful job about 60% of the time. she says "yes come in at 1:30" and i come in and end up waiting an hour and a half. if ur busy, just say come in later. every time my acrylics end up looking like press ons and get stuck in my hair. they make my cuticles bleed and the shape is always off. read more

New to the area and tried this nail salon. Third trip back within 2 months we discovered a green fungus underneath my fingernail when the nail tech removed the nail color. Did my dip color with Mai here, I love the work . She was so sweet and accommodating..very fast and efficient very experienced with everything especially the dip color along with the manicure to go with. Not many people know how to do a good dip polish. She's awesome! Without me asking for a cuticle clean up . I love the color she helped me choose. The lady who did my nails cut me so many times from over aggressive filing which makes no sense when you look at them because they were poorly shaped. I was told my inspo pick could be done, however they kept trying to add a dark green with yellow to make the bright green, then couldn't do the auro at all. The French tip was wild..... I got my pedi done today. I missed getting pampered, and this place was familiar. The actual toes nail paining is still mediocre, however, i'm really grateful that this place uses sanitary plastic liners for their bowls. I feel safe coming here, but i just wish they'd do a better job at painting nails. read more

Won't be going back. Tried them twice and was displeased both times. On my second visit, the lady had the nerve to tell me to just wash my hands there in the water bowl my hands were soaking in. My niece started going there and had issues with her no chip - they fixed it and she has been going to them for the last two years. This is probably the worst manicure I've ever gotten. I went in for a standard pedicure and gel manicure. The service was good and the technicians were friendly, but my gel manicure turned out terribly! I could have painted them myself. I would only come back here for a pedicure, never a manicure again. I probably won't be back - gel manicures are expensive and to get one that looks like mine does is not worth it. I booked an appointment with Nail Republic about 2 weeks before my wedding, and they were awesome! Michelle and Wen made it easy for me, and I actually got to RELAX the day before my wedding! I went with "The Happy" no-chip mani pedi package. Honestly, I spent less than I expected, and it was all worth it! I got a nice chair massage and there were TVs so I wasn't bored. They were so sweet because I actually requested to put little diamond studs on my ring fingers and Michelle said it was on the house, since my wedding was tomorrow!! They usually charge $5 for each little stud, and I was so happy she did that for me! I also did an eyebrow wax there, and she did it beautifully. Their salon is so nice, it's actually the nicest and most modern salon I've ever been to! I will definitely come back, since it's in a great area and a convenient location.....AND I just feel at home in this salon! Nail Republic is a newer salon in South Park, Park Ridge. It has an updated decor and is usually pretty crowded. The place is very clean and you can tell that they take hygiene seriously. There were about 8 nail techs working when I last went and I only had to wait for about 10 minutes without an appointment. There is free street parking on Devon, but you may need to walk a few blocks to get there. My manicure here was just OK. The tech seemed pretty indifferent and just went through the motions. The whole manicure took 13 minutes which seemed pretty quick compared to other salons. My nails looked OK afterwards, but far from perfect. Price was a little higher than I am used to - $18 for a men's manicure. The cashier muttered something about getting my nails buffed, thus the price increase. The staff didn't seem very customer focused. Aside from the language barrier, there were a lot of frowns and not much in terms of warmth. One of the staff decided to cook microwave popcorn while I was there last time - seems like an overly fragrant thing to prepare in a relaxing salon. I will likely be back as I live in the neighborhood, but the price for an average manicure seemed a bit out of wack. read more

I came to get a no chip and was convinced to do a DIP. It was Super Bowl Sunday and I was in a time crunch and told them I didn't have time. They ensured me I would get out in time which is fine I just don't want anyone rushing &/or feeling overwhelmed. I would of been perfectly content with a no chip. We'll long story short my nails didn't even last a day. It started to lift and crack towards the edges. I called the salon the only solution was to come in again so they can redo them. I was going out town and didn't have time to go in but also why would I want to go in again after not having my nails last. The refused a refund - I asked them where does it say no refund all services final and didn't get a response. I would not recommend this place for nail service I truly believe a salon with excellent customer service can really change a negative experience. I just moved into the area. It was my first time coming here. I decided to get a pedicure, the "happy pedicure" to be exact and let me tell you I'm not really happy with it. Everything was good.... until the actual nail polish part took place. She didn't put those flip flops on, my nails were still wet. I did mention it to her and I even said I don't mind staying here because of course I wanted my nails dry before I took off. After she put on my sandals I noticed a little spot where the polish came off, It is now about 2 hours after I got my pedi done and the polish on my toes are I guess you can call them "still wet" and the polish keeps coming off. What is going on. $40 + tip for a pedicure that I'm not even happy about?! Hmmm not sure if I will be back. read more
