I booked our room online for 3 people. When we got to the hotel they said the room was far too small for 3, so my mother in law got a room at the front desk. She was told 111 per night For the room. The first night they gave her a very nice room and said it was at the same rate as a normal single because they had no one in it so it would have been unoccupied. She paid for the night the following morning and checked out pending a new room assignment.
That evening She changed to a different room and was told it was the same price as the previous night, 111 for the night.
She checked out the next morning and paid 123 with tax and left luggage while She went to look around before our train to London. When I came with my daughter we waited for her to arrive so we could all go to our train together. When she got back he refused to give her luggage to her and then refused to give us our luggage either. He said he made a mistake in charging 111 for the room and She owed him 80 euro more or he would not give us our luggage. That is ridiculous. You cannot change the price after the price was agreed and already paid!!! She had already checked out at the 111 rate and only came back to pick up her bags.
She left to get the police, and I finally got him to give us our luggage by making a scene in front of new guests who were checking in and dialing the police on my phone.
My mother-in-law had to wait over an hour to get the police to come to the hotel, and he lied to them about knowing the price was higher when was never told anything but 111. The language barrier with both the police officers didn't help her any. She had to pay 50 more (what he agreed to come down to after negotiating with the police) and almost missed our train from all the commotion with having to get the police. My daughter and I had to leave her there and get a ride to the station so we all wouldn't miss the train.
This was the most awful experience. I would have rated this hotel very highly if not for this. This is the same as robbery. Even if he did make a mistake that should have been on the hotel, not us. Especially after we already checked out and paid!
