They checked it and said it was a bad converter, but the had to get 3 bad codes before they could do a warranty replacement. After the second one, they just said to bring it in. They didn't replace them because they had already done all that work, and I didn't tell them to replace what I didn't know was broke. I thought that's what they were there for. When they discovered an additional issue right before they returned my vehicle, they did not charge for labor and even gave a discount on the part. The workers are always kind, patient, and explain issues thoroughly and carefully. They never act hurried or impatient, and when an issue arises on their end, they are apologetic and strive to make things right. Take 5 Oil Change (Owner) 2 months ago Thank you for the 5-star rating and review! We're glad you enjoyed our fast and friendly service. We appreciate your loyalty and hope to see you again soon! Kristie Vise Local Guide·13 reviews·4 photos just now New I visited the Ohio Pike location on a Sunday for what should have been routine oil change and left with a headache. During the oil change, the technician told me he received a shock and asked if my key was turned to the battery (I have a keyless start). He then explained that while trying to get the oil filter out he hit the alternator with the wrench at the same time he was touching it to the metal frame, which explains the shock. Immediately after leaving I got a "battery saver active" warning. When I got home and googled it I realized this meant something was preventing my battery from charging. We immediately called the number on the paperwork and were told our only recourse was to have them submit a claim which would take 5 to 7 business days for a response. Mind you I now have a vehicle that is undrivable. We were able to find a mechanic friend to test the vehicle and found the heavy duty Mega Fuse in the alternator charging line was blown. My husband had to drive over 50 miles to find one and have it replaced. Not ideal, but better than waiting 5-7 days for a response. We figured we would submit the receipt and mileage when we heard back about our claim. It has now been 11 days and we have received no response from Take 5. We have tried calling back but now all of the numbers provided on the paperwork cannot be reached or are unavailable, including the direct number to the store. I have used Take 5 for several years but after this experience will be taking my business elsewhere.
