I had to call 4 times across 2 days before I got ahold of someone here and never got a call back. On the 5th call, once I did finally get ahold of someone, 15 minutes into the call I still didn't have an appointment and had to go to a meeting and asked them to call me back in an hour which they agreed to do. 4 hours later after not receiving a call I had to call back in twice more over the next day to finally get ahold of someone and start all over once again. All I needed was a standard annual appointment and a corneal topography. They stated that this was no problem and part of their routine annual exam anyway. The next day I got another call from them in which they said (direct quote) "I'm just wondering why you want the corneal topography..." firstly, that's none of your concern, secondly, you already stated it was standard practice so why does it matter? 2 days before my appointment I get another call which I miss and they left a voicemail saying they moved my appointment a day earlier (without my permission) but I decide I'm already this deep so let's just finish it out. I show up to my appointment and the receptionist says that my appointment is tomorrow (the original time). At that point I cancelled my appointment because this is just insanity. You would think it would end there but 2 hours later I get a reminder for my appointment which I had canceled in person earlier that day. I have no idea how this place is still open, maybe the doctors are phenomenal. I truly can't speak to them and their expertise as I couldn't even get that far. You need a complete overhaul of your entire operating procedures. Good luck!

I set an appointment a month ago. Received multiple texts and emails confirming the appointment…read moreincluding a text and email the night before said appointment. I show up for the appointment after taking a day off of work to get my eye exam and am told "we don't have a Dr today we left you a voice-mail but your cell service must be down since you didn't get it." If they were calling me to cancel, why did they continue to send me reminders of my scheduled exam? I counted 5 unique reminders in just the week prior to the appointment. Yet somehow I am treated like someone stupid who doesn't check my voice-mail. It's un acceptable behavior from a company where I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years and have frequented this location since they opened it. Not just me but my entire family come every year and buy glasses and contacts. Well we used to, but no more. To cancel an appointment which was scheduled for so long and not even offer any sort of apology? If I didn't show up for an appointment I am certain they would have charged me a fee for the missed appointment, but when it's them canceling, they couldn't care less. So disappointing, do yourself a favor and find somewhere else...I know I am.

Purchased glasses, and prescription sunglasses. Which is not a cheap purchase. You can customize your glasses. You can add scratch proof, polarize, etc. I added everything expensive to my glasses. You can even pick if you want dark, light, grey, brown, or black lenses for your sunglasses. They have samples for you to look at to decide from there. I got the call that my glasses were ready. My eyeglasses were fine. The sun glasses had lenses put in that I did not pick. It was so light. In fact you could see my eyes perfectly through it. They were basically eyeglasses but with sunglass frames. I showed them what I had ordered, and the re-placed the order and it came back perfect. I was good for months until they got scratched. My sunglasses came with a scratch warranty. I took my glasses the end of last year to have the lenses replaced and use my warranty to replace the scratched ones. The warranty came with my purchase, but I had to pay a small amount to get them replaced with the warranty. The staff placed an order to replace the lenses with the warranty. They came back, and the tint was so dark, I could not see out of them. It was literally limo tint. They were so blacked out that it was like being outside in the dark during daylight while wearing them. I called and spoke with one of the staff and specifically told her I wanted the same lenses that I had before. That's in fact what we were replacing! They then re-ordered. Went and picked up my lenses after they had to re-ordered the lenses again (Because of their error-Not mine) But AGAIN, this was the same limo tint as before. They in fact screwed up again. After calling the doctors office yesterday and telling them the situation. She said she would call me back with an answer. Today she calls me to let me know that they are unable to replace the lenses as they have eaten the cost (their mistake), and that they have replaced the lenses too many times and they can no longer help me with their mistake. But who cares to the customer, who now has glasses they messed up on, who cannot see out of or use. She even advised me to take my lenses to another company, even with their mistake. I have now eaten the cost of prescription sunglasses with this company. I asked to speak with the doctor. I was treated horribly by Dr. Jed. As he said the same thing the girl previously said. I even asked him if I could bring the perfectly scratched up lenses that worked along with the new lenses to show him proof that they are not the same. He said he did not want to see them because he trusts his staff. And they are the experts. Well his "experts" can't see and maybe the doctor that went to college should take a look at them with his own eyes. At this point I was furious. I explained to him, that if he bought a car and it had a warranty, and they came back with a different color, do you think he would like that. He literally wouldn't answer that because he didn't want to fix the situation at all. Maybe he should've went to college on how to treat customers, in addition to optical. Instead of ripping customer off from the company mistake, and owning up. I have included pictures of the lenses as proof they are different. And to remind again, the Dr refused to look at the mistake. The one lens that I'm holding by itself, is the one that I could see out of, that I took in to replace on the warranty. The lenses that are actually in the Ray-Ban's are the ones they are so dark you cannot see out of. That has a lot to say when two out of five reviews are a one star. Thanks Dr Jed & Staff. You guys are a real gem. I will now be reporting it to VSP. Y'all need to check your eyes after seeing the pictures. What a waste of my eaten cost. Don't come to this place for any need. I'd rather jab out my eyes then go again!

I just moved to the Salt Lake valley and needed a new optometrist for my old eyes. I chose Magna Family Eyecare because they have good reviews. I wasn't disappointed. They have great diagnostic equipment and can quickly test for all manner of eye related issues. There is a nice team of people handling the front desk. My doctor (Dr. White) was excellent and gave me a thorough checkup. He had some newer diagnostic techniques I haven't seen before. That helped me realize I was in the right place. They have a large selection of frames which is great! Sunglasses to. The office is situated in a modern building. I can whole-heartedly recommend Magna Family Eyecare. Cya there sometime!

They demanded insurance when I walked in, and I spent 50 minutes on the phone, looking it up to them before they finally informed me that they needed my health insurance instead of my vision. It took me five minutes to get my health insurance information when they inform me that it was too late and they were closing for the day so I had to go home and just hope I don't go blind. During my exam, I could hear the doctors next door talking to their patient... but that was really the only criticism I had! They had so many machines I hadn't seen before and some traditional technology I'm used to. No need for dilation either! They spared no exam for my eye health. The cost was very reasonable! I get eye exams yearly and they went above and beyond most other places I have been. I don't have vision insurance by choice, and they happily gave me a lens prescription and measured my PD as well without giving me the run around. They also helped me with the possibility of contacts and even tried some on, which I just couldn't tolerate but haven't completely written off due to the amazing staff. The glasses here are pricy; However, you're paying for a service that other places wouldn't do for you. I would've gone to Costco or somewhere less expensive but the staff's amazing customer service is worth the extra cost. I had new piercings on my ear cartilage that were being snagged by my old glasses; Athena sat with me and found me some frames that would work with my piercings and I bought two pairs! I didn't even know the frame's legs mattered so much. She even went above and beyond and adjusted my existing pair and fixed and adjusted my old favorite pair that I bought elsewhere to be more comfortable while I waited for my pairs to come in. She took her time to help me and you can absolutely tell how much she loves what she does and is willing to help you however you need it. She requested a rush for me as well for free and I really appreciate the willingness to help! The staff is gold and they joke around and appear happy to be there so I'm recommending everyone to this place!

Dr. Whetten was very friendly and thorough. He listened to me intently, and answered all of my questions. I ordered the cutest pair of eyeglasses that I can't wait to receive. And I didn't realize until after my Alpine Vision Center visit, other places are very high pressure and pushy. I felt none of that here. Everyone was thorough and informative with me, without making me feel pressured to do or buy anything. Will definitely tell my friends and family to go to Alpine Vision Center.

The first pair of glasses came after 2 weeks. The second pair has still not come as of June 14, 2024. A couple of weeks ago i stopped by after being told the other pair was in. When I got there they said they had made a mistake and the other pair wasn't in. They told me they'd reach out again when they came in. Last Friday I called during business hours and no-one answered. I stopped by on my way to work and there was a sign saying they were closed for training. I called on Monday and nobody answered during business hours. I stopped by again and was told that they would reach out to the company and call me on Tuesday. Did they call? Nope. I tried calling again on Thursday and surprise, no answer. I stopped by again. I was not happy and let the lady at the front desk know it. Instead of apologizing, she said, "As you can see we are quite busy and have a lot of customers here in the office." They are going to have one less customer to deal with. They actually sent me a message this morning, via text, telling me to reach out to my safety supervisor to see what's going on with my order. That front desk person has no business being in front of customers with her attitude. I've been in there several times and they have an army of staff, I will not recommend this place to anyone that enjoys great customer service. Alex Fox

They rightly deserve their good reputation for excellent level of care. My doctor, Dr Murdock, is very patient and explains things in ways that are easy to understand. He's taken the time to discuss my eye health, and gone over my scans/images with me. He's even used visuals to help me decipher some of the weird symptoms I was having. As a result, I left my most recent appointment feeling reassured about the unusual vision issues I'd been experiencing. The staff is amicable and sincere - the receptionists, the billing dept, assistants and doctors. They're a great crew to work with.

I left this office in tears after an incredibly disappointing experience. From the moment I…read morearrived, the atmosphere was unprofessional; the receptionist and nursing staff were openly whispering and gossiping about patients within earshot of the waiting area. Beyond the environment, the billing practices felt predatory. I was charged a $65 'contact fitting fee' despite having worn contacts for 20 years and not requiring a new fitting. To make matters worse, they didn't present me with the fee form until the end of my appointment--after my eyes had been dilated. I literally could not read the document I was being asked to sign. To top it off, I was sent out into the light without being offered disposable sunglasses or any post-dilation care. I would not recommend this office to anyone seeking professional or compassionate eye care.
