They had a set menu and everything sounded delicious. Me and Sarah ordered the bacon jam burger and oooooooo weeeee!! We were moaning an embarrassing amount but it was just too good!! And I'm not sure if they did this on purpose but because the baby shower was for a girl I'm wondering if they colored the sauce pink?? Usually an aioli is more of a peach if it's ketchup and mayo but this was very very pink! I'm trying to plan another outing to go here next. Hopefully tomorrow night :)

Despite all of this activity next door, the restaurant is unaffected, both in access, parking, and view. Despite being near the highway, the view from a booth is not bad, with some rolling hills in the distance. The service was timely and attentive. We had a reservation and were seated almost immediately. The interior has a dark steakhouse feel with a lot of wood materials and the edges of whiskey barrels on the wall as decoration. A great environment to unwind, have a drink, and fully enjoy the meal. The food itself was exactly as ordered; a medium-rare ribeye with creamy risotto and broccolini. I don't frequent steakhouses very often, so I may or may not be back for that reason alone. It did make for a pleasant and memorable birthday dinner!

My wife and I went with a all Norton grape flight ($12), consisting of Unoaked Norton, Norton, Owner's Reserve Norton, and Estate Vineyard Norton. Looking back, it would have made more sense to try a larger variety, but I initially wanted to focus on the grapes that are the most popular in this area. The wine did go good with the food ordered, including a good St. Louis style meat pizza ($22), and a hummus tray ($12). Sadly, my friend later told me this had been the one attempt of St. Louis style pizza during our 3 day stay, which if I had known, would have made me get a different meal so I could try another one of the iconic pizza places around the St. Louis area. Noboleis was started with the purchase of the 84 acre property in 2005, and bottled their first wines in 2009. It is still family owned and operated today, with the name being a blend of the three families involved in its creation.

From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were welcomed into someone's home. The staff treated everyone like family, the food was absolutely delicious, and the live music from 1-3 PM was the perfect backdrop. The musicians were incredibly talented and created an atmosphere you simply can't find anywhere else in Chesterfield. What makes this place so special is that it combines incredible food, genuine hospitality, local history, and live entertainment in a beautiful historic setting. It's the kind of place that reminds you why supporting local businesses matters. Sadly, we learned they're being forced to operate under restrictions that don't seem to reflect what this business brings to the community. Because of complaints from nearby neighbors and city limitations, they aren't allowed to stay open past 4 PM and have faced restrictions on outdoor seating and live music. That's incredibly disappointing because experiences like this are exactly what make a community unique. Where else in Chesterfield can you enjoy a wonderful lunch while listening to outstanding live music at a historic landmark? The answer is...nowhere. I sincerely hope this amazing local gem gets the support it deserves. We'll definitely be back.

She directed us to the door and we were greeted by two more people. Luckily we had reservations as every table had a personalized reserve sign including our time and number in party. When making our reservation we were given the choice of the music room or some other room. We chose the back of the music room and it was perfect. There are five tables and we could see and hear the two musicians. We ordered chicken salad, tuna melt and cucumber salad. We also had a small dish of fresh fruit. We were in no hurry and our food was delivered at just the right time. The wait staff are mature women and seem to love their job. The Old House is charming and we were encouraged to tour the house on our own. As a result, I plan to bring my friends for the holidays.

Having moved back to STL, I was looking for somewhere new and different to have dinner. Boy, oh boy did The Headless Bat fulfill my needs. It may not be new to STL, but it was new to me and it definitely was different. Dining alone, I entertained myself looking at all the artwork and the decor in general. It all set the mood and lived up to the restaurants name. My cocktail was, Conjurer. It was a variation of a Manhattan with rye. It was served up, my favorite way to drink an adult beverage. The bartender was a skilled mixologist, which surprised me. I wasn't expecting much, considering the bars theme. I am so glad they proved me wrong. I cannot be trusted with an entire pizza. I honestly have no self control and can eat an entire one by myself. So, establishments that offer pizza by the slice really get my attention. Their Born of Fire had many of the toppings I typically put on my pizza, so it was an easy choice. I love me some, pepperoni, jalapeño, pineapple and red peppers as my toppings. Yum - it truly hit the spot. The wings can be ordered, 6 or 12. Since I was having a slice, I went with 6. Their wings are naked (no breading) which is great for low-carb eating. My sauce was, Hot Honey. It gave a mild heat with a sticky sweetness. The serving had 3 flats and 3 drums, a must for me. I really don't like it when they're uneven. Service was attentive and friendly enough. I think they could tell this old man was out of his comfort zone. However, I will be back for more wings, a slice of pizza and another one of the masterfully made cocktails. My visit was proof that sometimes you just need to step out of your box and do it.
