It turns out they are also Action Plumbing which I didn't know until the truck pulled up to my house. That's when I knew the $39 wasn't going to be the price but I didn't expect what I was quoted. I was quoted $1,100 for a hydrojetting, camera inspection, enzymes, and a membership. I refused all that and then after a call to a manager, I was quoted $450 for a cable drain cleaning and membership. I sent the guy on his way. The sales guy said a lot of things like, "we do things differently" and "unclogging with a cable isn't permanent", and "we can't honor the warranty without the camera inspection" etc. I felt like I was getting sold especially when I couldn't get the service without the $233 membership. I asked what is costs for camera inspections and enzymes if I don't get the membership and he said, and I quote, "$233 but that's because of the warranty." I'm now not even sure I was talking to an actual plumber. Called another company and my drain is unclogged and cleaned for $275. No membership, used an auger and pumped water in the pipe. Was told that we need to be careful with these older pipes and hydrojetting may bust right through. If you are interested in who that was, I'll post a positive review on their Yelp page. It's a company I've worked with before and only called Rooter Connectionz because I got lured in by the cheap price that turned out to not exist. I see an array of reviews here and on other sites. If you are not in an urgent situation, I suggest getting more than one quote on any service before committing to Action Plumbing or Rooter Connectionz.

I was very impressed with his knowledge and he took the time to explain a couple of things to me as well. I took the annual service plan which is really nice. The previous HVAC company we used for five years didn't have a reasonable preseason tune-up price or annual service plan. Justin came within the time frame Black Diamond had given me and they kept me up-to-date on the day of service via both phone call and text message. Justin also put the covers on his shoes when he came in the house and I appreciate that as well. My son has used Black Diamond since 2016 when he bought his house in SLC and he has been really happy with their service, too. So I did check Yelp before calling them, but I had first-hand knowledge that they do a great job with fair prices. I'd also like to compliment the people who answer Black Diamond's phones 24/7. The pipes had already been cleaned under the sink, but it turned out there was a blockage in some old pipes in the wall. He came back the next day and opened up the wall in a bedroom behind the sink in the bathroom. He was able to clean out the pipes and replace a pipe that had been corroded and ended up breaking during the auger process. Brent and his coworker worked quickly to diagnose the problem and also cleaned up everything before leaving. I was very impressed with his work ethic and thoroughness with the job, as well as his honesty regarding what needed to be done. He gives a two hour window when he is coming to allow you to plan your day and his time for scheduling is very reasonable and not far out. Sometimes same day, or a few days later, depending on the situation. I will definitely call Brent again when I have plumbing problems that need to be fixed.
