Thankfully it lasted us through a single burning season and died right at the end if spring. We needed a boiler installed before the next burn season and were interested in all the options from oil burners to gas with high efficiency units. Having gone through multiple renovations with good and bad experiences, my wife and I are very discerning and methodical about contractors so we called essentially everyone available for a quote and rated them on price, professionalism, and perceived expertise. Flotechs tied for the cheapest and was one of the more knowledgeable contractors. We went ahead with flotechs for a 95% wall mount boiler; Standard units were cheaper but the cost of a chimney liner(pretty much required for standard units) wiped out any savings plus we get significant space back since the wall mount unit is so small. During the job I added additional work like moving all the huge low hanging pipes into the ceiling and adding piping for a gas dryer and they did the work as a part of a job for a reasonable price. Flotech finished the job without any surprises, issues, on budget and on time. We will be renovating our bathroom in the basement next year and we know exactly who we will be using.
