The main drain for our 2-family house was blocked between the house and the street, and was backing up into our basement. I called four drain companies at 8AM. Drain Doctor was the only one who could commit to coming within an hour--and they did! The technician was quick, efficient, and personable. He gave me a very reasonable price up front and dealt with the problem, which was (as i suspected) tree roots in the line. The whole thing as done in an hour. I am going to sign up for their maintenance services (preventative snaking every two years) since it is likely that the tree roots will simply grow back. I will also call them again if i have any other drain issues. Highly recommended. read more

* * * * * Definitely a FIVE Star business. I called Drain Doctor because my sewer drain pipe was clogged up, and it needed some serious snaking. (Note: I've used Drain Doctor before and they were excellent.) Drain Doctor was at my house within an hour of my call. Fran was very professional and did what he had to do. Unfortunately, it wasn't an easy job. The pipe was clogged with " Charmin Freshmates Flushable Wipes" - yes "flushable" but Fran explained to me that with old pipes, they get stuck and build up to the point of clogging the pipe. I started using the wet wipes about a year ago. So, I'm assuming there was a good years worth of Wipes stuck in the pipe. Fran said it was "real bad", but he managed to clear them out. So for anyone reading this review.......If you have old pipes that are clogged and you use those wipes, STOP using them and, CALL "DRAIN DOCTOR". Their work is excellent; they get the job done and the price is very reasonable too. I did something stupid - put uncooked rice in my drain, and it blocked my kitchen sink. To make things worse, my dishwasher showed an error message because it couldn't drain. This happened on a Saturday night, on a long weekend. The plumber from Drain Doctor came to my house at 2 in the morning (!!!) to fix this. I was so relieved because I thought the engine in the dishwasher will be damaged from working non stop. He was super nice, and everything was fixed by 2:40 am. * * * * * FIVE STAR * * * * * * * * * * Ask for Fran * * * * * I don't usually write reviews. But this experience with Fran from Drain Doctor has convinced me to write this well deservered review. This is my first experience with a plumber. I was worried dealing with a plumber is like dealing with auto shop mechanic; dishonest, misleading, etc. I am glad to say my experience with Fran from Drain Doctor has been nothing but positive. I can't speak for anyone else from Drain Doctor, my 2 hours spent with Fran has changed my view of hired help. I had a clog in my main line which goes into the sewer system. Fran know exactly where to attack the problem and he was very methodical. He opened up the main line cap and went in with a 100 ft snake. He snaked it total of three times. First time he snaked it, it used a smaller blade. He later explained to me the purpose of the smaller blade is to breakup the clog. When he unclogged it, I was worried he would just pack up and leave, but instead he said he would snake it with a bigger blade to get the job done right. I was impressed beyond believe someone cares about "getting the job done right". Second time he snaked it with the bigger blade. He couldn't get the bigger blade all the way across to the sewer system. It's probably caused by the main line settling over the past 100 years causing it to bend. After trying with the bigger blade for 15 minutes and couldn't get it to go through, Fran snaked it for the 3rd time with the smaller blade. He wanted to make sure smaller blade to goes all the way to the sewer system. In addition to snaking the main line. Fran also tested my old main line trap (something that's no longer needed because every sink/tub/toilet have their own trap) to make sure there's no blockage. Thank you Fran. My landlord called Drain Doctor to sort out an ongoing issue with my kitchen plumbing that was causing the sink and dishwasher to back up. Using a small hand snake had proven useless. Drain Doctor showed up within an hour or so after they called me to schedule a time. They snaked out the line, made sure that everything was draining properly (better than it has in the 2 years I've lived in this apartment), provided tips on how to prevent the issue in the future, and even set my stove clock which had gotten screwed up due to a power outage. I made an appointment with another company for the afternoon, only to have them call and cancel on me due to the snow and offer to reschedule for Monday or charge me the weekend fee for Saturday. He was honest with me and said that he could snake the drain but recommended I save my money and put it towards replacing the sink. Sewer was clogged on Sunday. I called DD and someone answered, told me they'd have someone call me. Someone called within 45 minutes. The technician was excellent. His name was Efran (sp?). The price was quite reasonable, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Years ago, when my husband and I were in Florida on vacation, and there was an emergency, these people came on New Year's Day when my "kids" called. It turned out to be a bigger job than the price they had quoted, yet they stayed until the job was done at the price originally quoted. A million thanks to Drain Doctor for their quick response to a sewer pipe clog which resulted in a yucky mess all over our bathroom floor. They made a difficult situation much easier-- I called in the morning and they were able to schedule me the same afternoon. I had a very bad experience with drain doctor they are unprofessional, bad technician and bad front officer which can not handle the case. I had a main sewer clog they cleared the drain ($275.00) and left with 30 day warranty and the next day it clog again they sent the same guy back. This time he came in with a mad temper and try to blame me for paper towel that some one might put it in the toilet bowl which he did not even found out what caused the drain clog. He said that next time he come in is going to be $ 275.00. I asked him for a long term solution or try to find out what caused by put the camera in the pipe. He said that I did not have the camera with me. He cleared the drain and he said If it clog again and he come in it will be another $275.00. I called drain doctor main office, I got a bad response. I am very disappointed with an unprofessional of drain doctor as the way that technician performing the work also his attitude and the way that the office personal handle the case. If you do not want to wast the time and money please stay away from drain sucker op! doctor.
