Shiitake Salmon
Olivia S.

I couldn't wait to visit Dragons. I was staying at the Secrets the Vine in Cancun and this is one of the restaurants inside the resort. The food was absolutely delicious! Flavors were spot on and presentations to match. My fav dish was the Shiitake Salmon, it was cooked perfectly, so tender and full of flavor. Next up was the Chow Fan (Mixto), it included beef, chicken, shrimp and pork. Def my favorite rice dish, again packed with flavor. If you're staying at the Secrets The Vine, check them out early in your stay because you may need to eat there for a second or third time. The resort does not take dinner reservations so plan accordingly as there may be a wait after 8p.

Mongolian Pork

Sabastian is an excellent server. Sushi was yummy! Mongolian beef was tastey. Grilled Shrimp was our favorite. Oh and don't forget the wontons! Hot and gooey!

Chicken chow mein and dumplings

We were a party of 6 and the majority of the food was very salty. The waiter was not the nicest or welcoming or attentive (Juan). He messed up our order and never brought some of our plates but we didn't even bother since everything was so salty. The only thing I liked was the dumplings and fried rice.

Delicious fresh food Korean/Japanese/Chinese/Thai (maybe Vietnamese) fusion...YUMMY!!! Great Service

Chicken Satay

We were pleasantly greeted by the manager and served a managers special before our appetizers arrived. Wasn't a fan of the special but I'm really picky. However, I totally loved the gesture. Lovely ambience....Very chic and relaxing. I ordered the Chicken Satay appetizer and it was good. Eat it fast while it's hot. I tried one of my friends ribs.....Amazing!!! For my entree I ordered the Chow Fan with Chicken only.....wayyy Better then I expected. All I needed was a lil more dark sauce and I was good to go. FYI, their soy sauce is called dark sauce. The complete staff was very accomodating and the food was very good and kept me full throughout the evening, even though the portions are small. But being that it's all inclusive, you can get as many meals and as much food as you can hold. Great restaurant! Best time to go to dinner is between 6 & 8pm or after 11. They have long wait times.

Pork belly char sui - its all fat. Disappointing.

I did not walk into this place with high expectations since the reviews were mediocre. I grew up my whole life eating seafood and all kinds of east asian food so my food standard in those areas are high, but well this is Cancun not Japan or Thailand. However, the quality of the food was extremely disappointing considering this is a restaurant inside the secrets vine hotel. The octopus salad was dry/old, lettuce was not fresh, shrimp wonton looked and tasted cheap. For tuna/salmon sashimi I won't complain considering the fact that these were even available. Sake and beer options were nice. Our waiter did his best to accomodate us woth quick delivery of food. At last, the nominated bomb of the day was the pork belly char sui. Just take a look at the image I attached. It's like 99% fat??

Our server Christian made our last night at Secrets the vine very special! Thanks!!

Everything is awesome! Our server Christian made our last night at Secrets the vine very special! Thanks!! I strongly recommend their Sushi menu the vine special and the secret. Also tempura ice cream as a dessert is an extra hit!

Assorted seafood with great freshness Salmon tartar: an okay Sushi: the first one on the menu, do not recommend Scallops in wasabi: scallops were perfectly cooked. Wasabi in this restaurant is very weak :/ Coconut soup: very disappointing, nothing like tom yum nor tom kha Shoyu ramen: I liked the seafood in it more than the noodle Lamb: our only main entry, sauce was great, lamb was juicy I asked our waiter if we ordered too much and he replied yes. After finishing everything, I ordered three desserts out of four choices LOL Coconut Ganache: very tasty Chocolate cake: great with green tea ice cream Rice pudding: sticky rice was a bit hard Overall a great dinner with lots of seafood!

Yep that whole thing was fried, rice was warm and shrimp was crispy. That is how it's supposed to be. I had the pork belly with crispy noodles. It was definitely melt in your mouth and had little fat pieces, only the best served here! The seafood ramen was great, just needed more noodles lol. It had mussels, shrimp, scallop, and octopus. I also had duck confit which was a little salty in my opinion. One night for room service, i had the tempura shrimp and veggies, definitely thin batter and excellent spicy mayo ever! I also had the kung pao shrimp with noodles, sauce was kickin and I was enjoying with joy! My favorite dish! For dessert, we had the chocolate ganoche which was a little too sweet. I came here twice and ordered it for room service, and they rolled out a new menu on my second visit. Definitely a different experience each time but i cant keep but coming back bc i love asian food.

They brought out special dessert to celebrate special occasion. Really loved it. Second visit: We walked in for dinner, busy. Our waiter seemed overwhelmed and we were as patient as can be. Tables around us received seconds before we ever got our original order. I was looking forward to dinner but it was about an hour and I gave up. We got up and informed the front that the wait was too long and other tables after us received better service. Things happen. The manager on duty apologized. Second visit didn't ruin my thoughts on Moongate. Their menu is great and the atmosphere was lovely.

In terms of restaurant options at the Hyatt Ziva, I would put Moongate kinda in the middle tier. It was basically one the meals we were fine with and would consider going back while we were at the resort. Ordered: - Sashimi - Salmon, Tuna, Catch of the Day (Sea Bass) - one of the thickest and widest cuts ever. - Special Kiuri Maki - this one was ok. I preferred the other maki we got. - Maguro Spicy Maki - Bibimbap - Lo Mein - this portion was really big in my opinion and they give a lot of protein. - Banana Mille Feuille - a bit dense for me. my least favorite dessert we had at the resort.

From Thai noodles to Indian samosas to Vietnamese Pho, there are so many choices. Loved the salad bar. The wide variety of cheeses, salads and seafood options was a great starter as we waited for our meal. Favorites included the hearts of palm, couscous and marinated artichoke hearts. Our server, Fernando, was so sweet. For apps, we had the Wonton de Atun, samosas stuffed with potatoes and green peas, and the Chicharron de Pesacado. All were delicious. The lamb vindaloo was okay for an entree. At Fernando's suggestion, we split the Helado frito con jarabe de chocolate. Fried ice cream is always a fun way to end an Asian fusion inspired meal.
