Sooo.... I've been here every weekend since first coming with a friend last month. Delicious seafood (never overcooked/dry and I've never tasted sand or grit in the clams), the combo/half combo are good deals to try everything, service is friendly, and the SPICE is so good. Some bad reviews here state the garlic butter sauce is too sweet, which I can imagine if not for the spice. I usually order "hot" and tried "very hot" once but that was a little too much for my personal preference. "Hot" is enough to make me gulp down 4 glasses of water, but still taste the actual seafood. If you order mild, maybe the sweetness of the sauce outweighs the rest of the flavors but this is not a problem at all if you get it spicy. It's also very garlic-y but that shouldn't be a surprise since it's in the name. I personally love garlic so this is fine with me. The sauce ends up being so good, I get their French bread as an add-on to dip in what's left of the bowl. Prices may be a little steeper if you don't go the combo route, but the combo is definitely worth it (includes snow crab, clams, crawfish, shrimp, potatoes, sausages, corn). I've split the half combo with 2 other friends and for 3 people, it's the perfect amount. read more

Came here with friends while on an out-of-town visit. It's definitely one of those hole-in-the-wall type places because I would not have found or come here on my own. But boy was I happy I did. The five of us shared a huge bowl full of everything and we finished it down to the last drop of sauce. Mind you, this is a pretty messy experience. It's not the best, but I like it enough that I wouldn't mind coming here when I am craving crawfish. I've tried the both boil sauces/flavors that they offer: Original Cajun and Garlic Butter. Original Cajun is the dry seasoning and the Garlic Butter is the wet seasoning. I like the Garlic Butter better, although it is a little too sweet. And it's very liquidy sauce, not thick sauce like some other places up north. Also the highest spice level, Dragon Breath, is definitely not as spicy as some of the other places; it didn't even make my nose run. I like to have cajun fries with my crawfish, but surprisingly, they don't have that on their menu, just regular fries and garlic fries. I tried their Garlic Noodles, and it was so simple, yet so delicious. They do charge extra for every little thing, like extra seasoning, butter, sauces, etc, including $0.50 to pay with your card. read more

First time here was very good. Got the very spicy, which came with a warning and I didn't feel was all that spicy, but my spice tolerance is probably way too high. Quality of the seafood was good and everything was pretty tasty. A little on the pricy side while still being cheaper than all the similar establishments. Awesome, let's get the Reaper. Signed a consent form. PERFECT SPICE LEVEL. Except the fam wasn't a fan of it. 3rd time: Dragon breath. Signed consent form (never had to do the first time) spice leve tasted just like the reaper which was strang...but oh well still good. 4th time: I got hot. Post partum, didn't wanna eat too spicy after. It was alright hot. Had to share with my husband who doesn't eat spicy like me. 5th time: I got very hot. It was amazing. Except my husband was sweating like crazy. He's such a weak sauce I swear. Over all, I like this place. I've gotten seafood boil two days in a row. That's how much I like this place. Dragon Crawfish why are you so addicting?! I went here on March 19, 2020 and got a to go order. Currently all restuarants in the area are only accepting to go orders. It is very sad that businesses are getting affected because of the pandemic Corona Virus. I come here with my boyfriend atleast once a month. We always order the butter garlic half combo, mild with extra sausage and corn. The owners are great, they are very nice. As of the moment they are trying to sell as much as they can because it is a little slow for the restaurant industry everywhere. I would suggest ordering ahead of time if you wanted something to go. This place is a hole in the wall! My husband and I walked by it and were like "I don't know". Lol but I'm so glad we went inside! The owners and wait staff are all very nice and personable. The place was pretty clean. The food was really delicious!! We shared the "half combo" and it was more then enough- we were stuffed! The only thing I would recommend for them is that the shrimp and crab were a bit overdone , not bad but I would decrease cook time by a min or two. The flavor of the food was so delicious!! Dragon's Crawfish is an excellent hidden gem! I have passed this restaurant probably hundreds of times and finally decided to have a meal here. What a nice surprise! Despite Yelp reviews about customer service, every single person in the restaurant was kind and actually doted on us. Customer service, in our experience, was excellent! And the food was also delicious. Some of the prices are a little more expensive than nearby restaurants, but you definitely get a great deal for your money. The seafood was high-end and plentiful, and no one left hungry. Located in the International District of Tacoma that is primarily Vietnamese, we thought this was a Vietnamese restaurant, but instead you'll find seafood with Cajun seasonings and fresh garlic butter. I phoned in my order, and the gal over the phone was knowledgeable and friendly. Apparently when you arrive, you will pay for your food, and they will bring it out to your car if it's take out. Mind you, they don't have a parking lot. It's all street parking. The waiting game is, and I am supposing, that folks have ordered, but not picked up their orders before, therefore orders aren't given/made until paid for. For me, that was the down side of take out when you order in advance, but I am understanding to that cause seafood is not cheap. Speaking of price, I had a hankering for crawfish. It was currently at $13.99/lb. I asked for both wet and dry seasoning and I was unsure of their seasonings. Growing up from the south and eating crawfish every year, I was a bit skeptical. The crawfish were a good size, but the taste wasn't the best. It even tasted a bit sweet... I'm not sure if other people taste that... or maybe someone thought it was salt, but it was sugar that day? The butter garlic was good- plenty of garlic! The dry seasoning was not as equivalent. The service was good. First off there is no parking at all. You have to park on a side street. Not a big deal. But I drive a seahawk graphic car and when we got back to the car it was wrote on with like Fingers but some harsh words towards the hawks. thankfully not spray paint. Still its a ghetto area so they need parking. On top of that the food wasnt good to me. I wont say the food isnt good. My man loved it. He didn't like it as much later on. The mild was to much for me although I ate enough to get full before I left I was sick in the bathroom. The bathrooms are clean and the servers were very nice. I definitely think if you like spicy food hot food or this is a great place for you. I love that it is easy to locate. Right there on the corner on the intersection. There was plenty of street parking as I went around 6pm on a weekday. The staff is very welcoming & friendly. The music is good as well. They're clear about pricing. I love that I never had to ask for a refill. They're attentive making sure you are taken care of. I ordered the seafood combination with the garlic butter sauce, hot flavor since I love spicy food. The combination comes with 1lb of shrimp, clams, crawfish, and a crab cluster. My tolerance is high for spice, so if you're sensitive to spicy, mild or medium would be more up your alley. For the daredevils, they have a spicy level passed hot. The clams were so tender, they naturally fell out of the shell. I didn't have much time, the young woman that was servicing me was such a doll and wrapped up my leftovers securely. I've been coming here for crawfish boils for years because it is one of the only places in the Tacoma area. It's very yummy! My boyfriend doesn't enjoy crawfish as much as I do so he decided to order something else for himself. He got the fish and chips and Cajun fried shrimp. The fish and chips were okay, chewier than we'd like but the Cajun fried shrimp was awful- it tasted like a overly salted shrimp. Nothing about it was Cajun. This was my first Time in Tacoma and trying the seafood boil here was awesome! The seasoning and broth was delicious! We got mild and it wasn't as spicy as I wanted but just enough to give it a kick. The owner (Sina) was very nice and accommodating! If I didn't live so far, I would go back. Highly recommend this place if anyone wants seafood or good time with friends. It was our first time here. If you're in luck, you'd find parking right out front, if not there's side street parking available. Not the cleanest restaurant I've been in. Kind of remind me of one of those hole in the wall type of places. There were food stains on the wall which I'm assuming were from previous customers. Doing some renovations and upgrades would be a suggested idea. The menu is quite small. Don't forget to check the board on the wall for their combo specials. It's the best way to go considering the fact of how pricey the items are. We ordered a combo which came with shrimp, crab, crawfish and clams. Make sure to get some French bread, it'll come in handy for all the sauce at the end. Now for the spices, it was not my favorite. It was sweet with a hint of spice in it. If you're not a big fan of hot spices, you probably won't like it. We ordered it in mild and it was still a little spicy. Not sure if we'll be back again though. read more

The location is on 38th street business district right across the street from el zocalo Tortas and bakery...I like to refer to this area as 38ths street lil' asia town. Ive been to other crab shacks around the NW with the same get down but the sauce they are using here is much more flavoful then any other place. Got a big bowl of yummy seafood & Sausage, soft bahn bread, and some of the best garlic fries Ive ever had (You MUST LOVE garlic to eat these fries cause its ALOT LOTS of garlic.)
