I guess for $3.99 what should you expect. The crab boil was ok. Some parts were still cold. We asked for headless shrimp so I assumed that the shrimp would be deveined too. The garlic butter sauce didn't taste buttery and I think the garlic is jarred garlic. Don't get me wrong. I've used jarred garlic but you shouldn't be able to tell by taste. The sauce seems to have been thrown in after the seafood was warmed/steamed. I felt like all the flavors wasn't infused in anything in the pot (corn, potato, shrimp, clam etc.) I feel bad becauseThe service was great. We enjoyed a delicious late lunch at Dragon's Crawfish. Four of us shared crawfish, headless shrimp, and sea snails - about 12 pounds all told in their Very Hot garlic butter house sauce. We added some sausage to the boil and had a side of fries. Our server cautioned us about how spicy the Very Hot level is, but we assured her we could handle it. It is VERY HOT - but super flavorful. The pepper was fruity, a bit citrusy but not mouth numbing at all. Our noses ran, tears were shed - but nothing kept us away from digging in. The crawfish were naturally sweet. The sea snails (new to all of us) were delectable, briny with nice flavor from the sauce. They're quite chewy, but overall a win for us. The shrimp really took on the flavor of the sauce and were little bombs of spice. The restaurant decor is utilitarian, but that's fine. We care more about the food, which was worth every cent. This was not our first visit to Dragon's Crawfish and it won't be our last. read more

Bae got her Medium spice shrimps and clams (plus potatoes, corns and 2 eggs) and I got me a Hot spice Dungeness $39.99 and shrimp (plus a bowl of rice). Tons of leftover for the work wk and oh so worth it. One down side is I wish the shrimps were deveined so I don't have to see the dark poop inside the shrimp and that and that the shrimps were easily to peel. I think the super hot temp got the shell to stick to the body. Beside that hiccup, the sauce was perfectly seasoned and was delicious! This place is dope. It has been many trips since I last reviewed Dragon's Crawfish. There have been many crab boil places, but none as good as this place. The price seems fair to me, especially with the quality of food you get. Prices are all based on market value. I honestly have no problem with the price to value of food. If you do visit I would recommend getting the boil wet and grab some bread. You will get delicious seasoned butter in your bowl and you can dip the bread in for some extra delicious butter soaked bread. Go here with some friends grab a half or big bowl depending on the size of the group and hunger level. This way you will good a great mixture of foods for the best price. We have done a half with 4 people and been fine, but if you want more food do a whole with 4-6 people, and a half 2-4. I would recommend getting some heat on this. The real flavors are added with some heat, but the no heat does taste good as well. Its definitely worth it. Final note and I believe I mentioned this in my previous post as well. The chicken wings here are simple fried chicken wings with incredible seasoning and a really nice ranch. I would high recommend this for anyone. Its delicious. I honestly think they might be the best chicken wings in Tacoma. read more

Came here as my girlfriend's family had their eyes on coming here for a while. Realized pretty quickly that it was another one of those seafood boil places that keep popping up. Definitely intrigued enough, since I like these kind of places such as Boiling Crab or Kickin' Crab in California. Ordered a pound of shrimp with a side of sausages. Was pretty underwhelmed. You only have two sauces available, original Cajun or garlic butter. We ordered mild garlic butter, but given the nature of it I almost thought it was the original Cajun. Wasn't very saucy, definitely have had better on that front. Shrimp were cooked well enough, but I would expect that as the bare minimum. Garlic noodles were a hit though. Service was alright. Given that there were plenty of staff on hand and not that many people in here, would've expected it to be a bit faster. Not bad for Tacoma, but I've definitely been to better. read more

I am so torn on this! I absolutely love the pre made post- with wet seasoning. My partner has tried the Wet max spicey- they make you sign a disclosure form and man did he understand why! I could feeel the hot and spice coming off his bowl! As for my style I am a whimp No spice wet! And man is it Delicious buttery garlic goodness..............however. I've had to stop getting the pre made combo because their qualifty of shrimp has gone down drastically. They are very chalky and fall apart to the point of being dry and rubbery in your mouth. I wonder if they are pre cooked and then frozen for speed. The crab- delicious but It always ends up cold- and I like my crab warm esp if is is supposedly been Boiled? those two things have made it hard to give a full 5 stars. However the Clams, the Andoulli, the Crawfish and the Corn and potatoes are spot on scrumptios! and I wish they soul their boil ingredients separately because I would use it on everything!!! The service is superb they have always been kind and speedy and so friendly. Hence the 4 stars! Soooo good! I went to college in New Orleans so I love some good crawfish. The location is in an area that's going through some major construction so it's a bit tricky parking. When we got inside we were immediately greeted and offered to sit. We ordered the half combo which is 2.5 pounds of crab, crawfish, sausage, clams, shrimp, corn and potatoes. The restaurant is small but doesn't seem to crowded together. As I type this I'm dreaming of guzzling their garlic butter marinade that our bowl was served in. Perfect amount of spices, garlic and sweetness. It was sooooo good. Best marinade ever!!!! I ate so much until I was stuffed. Overall this place is really good and the service was exceptional. I have been a regular to this place because I live in Tacoma (from Seattle) and this is the only seafood boil spot I know of that isn't too far away. But I think this may be the last time. I just spent $80 for this and nothing is cooked properly. The potatoes are raw. The clams are barely open. The garlic is raw. The only good thing is the corn currently. I am forced to cook the boil more at home, because it's simply not enjoyable in this state. I come here almost once a month and this is the third time my food has been too undercooked. They are currently serving curbside, so I called ahead to place the order- they said 10-15min wait. When I arrived about 20min later (to make sure they'd be ready) I had to wait an additional 30 minutes for my order. Apparently they don't make your order until you pay and the person in front of you receives their order. The food can be good enough when it's made properly, but for this being the third time I e had to cook my food again at home, I'll pass. I'll just have to trek to Seattle and go to my favorite seafood boil spot in Chinatown who gets it right every time! No shade... but shade! Smh, so inconvenient. read more

I would not reccomend this restraunt. It's over priced and the food is cooked with inconsistency. King crab came in room temp sauce, corn was over cooked, kielbasa was over cooked the prawns were way undercooked and it came in a boiling sauce. U would think the prawns would have cooked the rest of the way in the boiling sauce but that wasnt the case at all. I couldn't take the shell or the heads off the prawns. It threw my whole appetite out the window. The only thing that was okay were the potatoes and the bread. They have cans for sodas so expect on paying 1.50 for those as well. It's in a bad neighborhood with graffiti on buildings all around this place and sketchy ppl walking around. We ate at 3pm and we were pretty sketched out. We won't be coming back. I came here with my family last minute and was supposed to go to a different place but MY GAH am I glad we came here. The house sauce... 10/10 with HELLA garlic. Something about their sauce has a different taste/sweetness to my usual fav and its so so good. Props to the chef for blowing our minds!! The waiter even came and checked on us because we all just got quiet (you know it's good when we're all just busy eating). Customer service was also amazing. Clsimole concept. Cajun crawfish boil in their special blend of wet (Garlic butter add you tell them level of heat to add) or "dry" (Cajun rub only). Most folks go wet. The 1/2 combo is for two people and $50. You get 4 legs of Snow crab, 1/2 lb of Crawdads, 1/2 lb of large prawn size shrimp and some clams, slices of sausage, small red potato rounds and corn on the cob. Comes in a big stainless steel bowl. Service is great. Small family owned business and they are cheerful and very personable. The owner came out twice just asking how your enjoying. They are very proud of this business and you can tell they are trying hard to make it a pleasing experience. It's informal/casual as this is lots of cracking and peeling for the customer to do to get to the meat but they have all the tools, gloves, bib, cracker to get the job done. Blows away Joe's Crab Shack chain in flavor and it's nice to support a local business. read more
